In my opinion, altcoin and bitcoin are almost the same, but perhaps more people prefer bitcoin than altcoin although BTC is part of Altcoin. I see the two are equally important, it has the effect on each other. But if I was chosen, I would choose Bitcoin because most people are using BTC.
Alcoin and bitcoin each have different roles, of course this is important for the world of cryptocurrency, bitcoin as the top coin is certainly the parent of several other coins and its role is more important than alcoin

if there are altcoins have similar technology or maybe even better from bitcoin , i am sure it could replace bitcoin as major cryptocurrency in market.but unfortunately till now did not appear yet this coins. 
I'm asking you, what would you mean "important" about bitcoin, as far as i know that bitcoin isn't widely accepted as the mean of payment for transaction. perhaps its just several places that accept it as tool of transaction. We mostly used bitcoin as a mean of investment in the crytpocurrency world.
Probably, the guy means popularity. He worries if altcoins can become as popular as BTC. I suppose, some of them will do it. Take, for instance, Ethereum - it is loved by many people and has many fans.

you are right. when compared one by one, of course there are no altcoins that can compete with bitcoin. however, altcoin has a lot of products, of course it will be comparable when compared. well, altcoin is part of bitcoin, that is my opinion.

because products and teams are very important to win, teams that have experience and have succeeded in doing business will definitely be selected again to help their progress. if the process is successful, the value of Altcoin will go up and many people are interested, Bitcoin or Altcoin is just as good but if Altcoin is intended by Altcoin which has great potential and has quality that proves very good.

I think that it's not about the competition between altcoins and bitcoin, they are mostly companions, not competitors, but that there will be or not such an altcoin, which can prove to be better than bitcoin. But at the moment this is not and may not be.

I think even if Bitcoin is in the lead of the cryptocurrency market you still need some good runners up from Altcoins. As such I'm of the opinion that Altcoins would become the next best alternative if not better.
They are different coins that has a each platform but I don't think altcoin is much more worth than bitcoin ,as we know crypto is the number one listed in terms of promising coin due to it's fluctuated prices . 
Until now, in my opinion bitcoin is still the best of altcoins, many people survive with bitcoin to invest.

that's the situation of a market there is a rise and fall, regarding the increase in altcoin will definitely follow in the footsteps of bitcoin will not be able to exceed the price of bitcoin for now, and especially bitcoin that lives a little, the price will likely continue to grow high in value.

I don’t think so, there’s so many altcoins that have a real value today and its technology is really good. For example the XRP, many banks are already adopting this technology so meaning there is a real use of this coin.Good altcoins will become important as long as with bitcoin, because this is a cryptomarket and we need more coins to fulfil the emptiness of bitcoin. Altcoins may not overcome bitcoin but its significance will remain in this market as we are continue growing everyday.

At present, many excellent altcoins are emerging, but the status of BTC cannot be replaced. BTC is a bridge between French and cryptocurrencies. 
Ethereum can surpass bitcoin in the future , because it is used in many transactions.as for the rest of the coins, they most likely will not be able to surpass bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the most trusted coin at the moment, because it is the most famous one. Technically, there are a lot of coins that are simply better than bitcoin, but they need to become more popular. When the mass adoption will come, Bitcoin would be replaced by an altcoin.
indeed there are lots of altcoins but not as good as bitcoin, the most popular bitcoin coins and the highest price. so I guess it's impossible if altcoin replaces bitcoin quickly because bitcoin is the main coin and the other altcoin benchmark.
It is very natural for competition to exist in the market, the same goes for the market of crypto currency. Competition will exist between bitcoin and ALT coin. But it cannot be said which will dominate in the future. If the alt coins provides better facility then it will be successful. But this will take time as most of the people, only recognizes Bitcoin.
