If any new currency with much advanced features, overcoming drawbacks of bitcoin came into market, then and then only bitcoin get replaced by another cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has earned a good reputation, trust and confidence of its investors. After ban from China, Indonesia, Japan bit coin price slipped down many times. But its investors continued to invest in. They never left bitcoin, as a result bitcoin has given them more than they have imagined. In short it is difficult to replace bitcoin.
We will see what happens with bitcoin cash I see the potential that this will compete with Bitcoin, but do not think it can be stronger.

hopefully it will not be replaced by the non cryptocurrency "ripple"

I personally think that no other cryptocurrency can outcompete bitcoin since it's already established its roots. What other possible things that can happen in relation to bitcoin and other cryptos, they can become popular and globally used. I don't like a monopolized currency because it will be boring and will hard for investment.
Thats impossible because bitcoin is more uses than the other cryptocurency but if the cryptocurrency have new feature, new project or profitable than bitcoin i think that the reason to replaced by another crytocurrency. But i think theres no crypto currency can greater than bitcoin cause bitcoin is profitable than other cryptocurrency.
Maybe yes in the future, of course we all know that bitcoin is the father of all crypto but things may change who knows what happens like after 10 years, there are lots of altcoins now that has the potential to reach bitcoin value like bitcoin cash, dash, eth or maybe hqx soon will be on the list. 
Doubt it bitcoin is difficult to replace by another cryptocurrency. . i think bitcoin will rule the world.
I do think that bitcoin can hardly be replaced by other cryptocurrencies but nothing can assure that bitcoin will rule the world of crypto coin forever. Who knows what will happen in the future because everything is unpredictable in this world, we can't even exactly predict the price of bitcoin not to mention its future. Numbers make bitcoin first cryptocurrency but can be replaced in future.
we see how ripple price increasing last 3 months also some ICOs do good and rising fast
I don't think so that bitcoin will replace by other currencies like in the market the bitcoin is highly influential and valuable in the market. the only one thing which will badly affect the bitcoin and that is the demand of this currency once the people lose the interest the market value of this currency will automatically down and therefore the volatility of this currency is very high.

There are so many forked coins out there now, and it is quite difficult to track all of them. Bitcoin (core supported version) may remain as the no.1 crypto-currency in the future. But I can't discount the possibility of some of the forked coins replacing the core version in the near future. Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold has the capability to replace Bitcoin.

Each cryptocurrency has a chance to replace bitcoin. When the supply of bitcoin gets very limited, so it's very difficult to have bitcoin, it's possible for people to proceed to another cryptocurrency that more on its supply and easy to get.
The more limited the bitcoin the more open the chances of another crypto to replace bitcoin. But, I doubt any other crypto could replace bitcoin because until now the bitcoin has become another crypto reference to determine the priceIn economic aspect, scarce supply means higher prices. Also we got 8 digits in bitcoin. It sounds odd but that should be more than enough.
Where did you find that idea that each crypto currency could replace bitcoin? Does shit coins and scam coin project and abandoned crypto projects could replace bitcoin? Sorry but I can't find the logic dude seriously.
Bitcoin's blockchain network is very secure and no hacker ever penetrated it and that's pretty awesome. New altcoins still needs time to be able to reach the bitcoin level. nothing is impossible, seeing the movement of Ethereum and Ripple makes me believe,

It is currently the main point of exchange and basis when converting to alt coins and fiat. I don't think Bitcoin will be replaced so quickly.
It could not be possible due to huge demand and supply of Bitcoin. But on the other hand i will think that it could be possible if Etherium will rice daily double then Bitcoin. thank you
