Nothing competes with Bitcoin so there is no reason not to remain dominant. All merchants adopt Bitcoin, everybody in the world knows Bitcoin, anyone who wants to invest or make transactions using Bitcoin. then after they do that, some of them may see Altcoin to gain profit because they are well pumped. Whenever anyone hears Bitcoin cryptocurrency comes first to their mind and the second comes alts. So whatever happens in the long run, Bitcoin will remain a good currency.

I agree. Bitcoin has many factors to bring high value and impact to users. That would be the truth ,the bitcoin will be dominant coin in coin market , it has the high price value , it is on the top rank as the first coin among altcoins , that could be bitcoin very dominant in the coming years. It being first matters. It was also the one with by far the most decentralization and it wasn't made simply to make the founder rich.
Latter alts like ethereum have the capability of unseating bitcoin as the top crypto. Probably for a couple of more years, popularity and the fact that it's the first crypto would keep it on top but people will find out the uses and benefits of others like ether and we'll know if bitcoin will stay in top from there

Well definitely it would. As where bitcoin stand now, It will. We cannot predict the future but I would say long term would be sure. Those people who already been successful and trusted bitcoin will make bitcoin number one.
For me it all depends on the peoples demand for bitcoin. If many people still buy and support bitcoin then it will continue to stay on top of it all. Judging but its popularity bitcoin is still so relevant right now and for years to come so expect for it to still assert its dominance against other coins.
Bitcoin for sure will remain as the dominant cryptocurrency at least in the foreseeable future. There's nothing to compete bitcoin as of now. Unless something big will challenge bitcoin from all of its flaws. I think bitcoin will not be dethroned because of all of the investments around it, it has huge infrastructures built for it. However, I think something will run side by side with it. The real currency. Because I think Bitcoin is far from being the money of the world. Even though the speed is greatly improved from the past years, still it's so slow for the currency for the use of the whole world. I think Bitcoin is a good store of value. So in the future it will act as digital "gold" and something else will become the cryptocurrency for the daily, mundane transactions.
Given that the crypto currency is now constantly and rapidly developing, the dominant crypto currency will be one that will have good functionality, convenience and ease of use.this will not be the same as saying that Bitcoin won’t exist long term.

. BTC is constantly improving and it has very clearly been going up the past year. So i believe Bitcoin will still be the top moset cryptocurrency coin.

Dominant or not, bitcoin will be the most well known cryptocurrency coin in the world. And of course it will always exist.
There are many coins other than bitcoin, but the coin with highest value is bitcoin. The market show us bitcoin is no 1.

No cryptocurrency will replace bitcoin because it is the grandfather of all cryptocurrency. And it sets the trend and value of all other currencies.
In as much as we cryptopreneurs hate when bitcoin turns to moving the wheels of all other cryptocurrencies i guess there is nothing we can about it for now. Bitcoin will still dominate the over all the other cryptocurrencies and its supremacy will always be seen on the exchange market. Take into consideration what just happen today(11/06/2018), as soon as bitcoin started dipping all the other coins followed including ethereum which most people are anticipating it will moon up to bitcoin in no time. The supremacy of bitcoin over the other cryptocurrencies will be felt almost anytime and i think bitcoin will dominate for a long time before we can even think of another coin coin which is going to compete with it.

2. Block chain technology enhances its security wih the number of entries it has. Since Bitcoin is the first and mostly traded platfom, it becomes more and more secure as time passes by.
It will be dominant up and untill everyone starts trading in crypto currency. If everyone start trading in cryptocurrency just because of preferences and belief system other coins will also be used. Just like how we have various religions in the world even if Christianity is the most prevelant.
