Butering support ethereum and I don't think that this option is possible. People trust to ethereum and invest a lot of money in it

No eth will not fail if vitalik dies. Only that can cause dump surely as expected. But after that everything will turn to normal situation i think.
Because ethereum foundation already have too many developers with amazing skills. Now vitalik is the symbol of ethereum  he is very valuable person and dev.
But eth can continue without vitalik.

It could happen like 2 years ago, but now there is ethereum foundation which will manage eth development and Vitalik is no longer needed.

I think that Vitalik is not very important for Ethereum, he is something like an advisor. Ethereum just like other cryptocurrencies is a decentralized project.
So without him Ethereum will be even more decentralized, no big name with a big power.

Yes. With Vitalik's absence, Ethereum could become more decentralized as all the efforts would be focused on the community itself. The same way Bitcoin could manage to survive without its founder Satoshi Nakamoto, the same way could be for Ethereum. With the vast amount of developers working each day to improve Ethereum, I believe that there shouldn't be any reason to worry if Vitalik dies anytime soon. Of course, the price will go down the drain for a short amount of time, but it'll quickly recover as soon as the market settles.

When comparing Ethereum with Litecoin, both have founders which are still alive. However, Litecoin's founder has been distancing himself from the project, to make it look as decentralized as possible. He even sold all his Litecoin, which means that he wants to avoid becoming associated with the project. In contrast, Ethereum's founder is still involved with the project, but he hasn't announced that he sold (if he ever had some Ethereum) any of his coins (as far as I'm aware).

Nevertheless, if the Ethereum project remains as decentralized as possible then there's nothing to worry about. While Vitalik is seen as a strong leader for Ethereum by many, he could easily be replaced by someone in the future. Just my opinion Smiley

What do you think will happen with Ethereum if Vitalik Buterin's death is confirmed? Will the price crash and the project fail? Or would it continue to grow into infinity and beyond? I'm concerned about this, since previously, there were rumors about Vitalik's death which caused the price of Ethereum to fall drastically within the cryptocurrency market. Fortunately, Vitalik showed proof that he was alive, which calmed the downfall of Ethereum's price.

However, if Vitalik dies, many things could happen either good or bad. Perhaps, Ethereum may fall if Vitalik dies, because he's been leading the project every step of the way. By not having a leader, the Ethereum project will disorientate itself into oblivion, IMO. Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Roll Eyes

No, I do not think so, like many others, I believe that everything will be fine, because ETH is a full-fledged project that can exist by itself, so I think that everything will be fine and the project will remain one of the major projects in this area.

Well no one heard anything from satoshi for a while, and after his last post on this forum, who knows is he dead or alive. Maybe he was hit by a bus after 12 dec 2010?! And where did price go after he disapered?

Exactly. Even after the disappearance of Satoshi, Bitcoin has growth in price and popularity over time. No one knows what happened with the pioneer cryptocurrency's founder, because he/she/they was/were anonymous. However, it's quite impressive to see the project take its own course without its founder guiding it. As such, if Bitcoin managed to become a strong cryptocurrency without its founder, then Ethereum could probably head into the same direction.

The main difference between Bitcoin's and Ethereum's founder, is their identities in the real world. Since Bitcoin's founder was anonymous, no one knows for certainty if he/she/they is/are still alive. On the other hand, Ethereum's founder is well-known to the public, which could have a negative effect over the cryptocurrency's price within a short time frame, as FUD spread all over mainstream media. Such case is very unlikely for Bitcoin since the founder was never known or revealed to the public. In effect, it wouldn't have a negative impact over Bitcoin's price, the same way it would be in Ethereum since everyone knows who created the project.

Therefore, what could happen is that Ethereum's price could decline massively after Vitalik's death within a short time frame. However, once everything is calmed down, you could expect for prices to rise again as demand increases from people in the mainstream world. With the supportive community and active development team Ethereum has, Vitalik could be easily replaced without having a bad impact over the project's longevity within the blockchain space. Just my opinion Smiley

There are are more serious forces and investors behind Vitalik, such as Ethereum Foundation. He often appears on the screens because of the peculiar appearance, which gives a great charisma to the project, but the main development has long been carried out not by him.
Yes, his external data make you trust this person and probably make popular Ethereum. This psychological trick is the perfect opposite of the Invisible- Satoshi.

No. I don't think so. There's no way ethereum will fail after Vitaliks death because there are more people patronizing the project and people are investing in it.

Ethereum not fail, but I'm sure that in cryptocurrency world so much FUD after it happen, and the price ethereum will dump for sometime

Yes. That could happen right after Vitalik's death. However, the most important thing is that Ethereum remains alive as a decentralized cryptocurrency project for the masses. The decline in price would be temporary, allowing anyone to buy cheap ETH before the market recovers again. Once the FUD is over, then prices will start to rise again, becoming a profitable opportunity for those who got in earlier when prices were low.

Even if there's no replacement for Vitalik in the future, the project might head its own way as the community guides it every step of the way. On the other hand, Bitcoin has survived without its leader Satoshi Nakamoto. Which means that the same thing could happen with Ethereum, as it remains without a leader, but supported by a wealth of developers and community members. Rest assured, that once Vitalik dies, the mainstream media will be spreading FUD against Ethereum, to scare people away. But none of that matters, since cryptocurrency projects are used to FUDs all the time. Just my opinion Smiley

Definitely no. ETH today is not Vitalik only. I see several teams and many developers. And I don't tell about other teams that make sidechains possibilities, Plasma, Raiden, other extensions. I think they can continue ETH development if it will be needed. Nothing worried
This currency ethereum has been established for more years and just like bitcoin, it couldn't be vanished around blockchain. Many of vitalik's co developers has been making ethereum as strong cryptocurrency following the footsteps of bitcoin, which may rise same as how bitcoin soars at higher popularity.

Well it could be this and that but, you know, no one really knows. Satoshi Nakamoto is gone and bitcoin is still alive and kicking so maybe if V. Buterin is gone Ethereum will still continue and will even be better than it is today or will just be a history.

I don't think so. Crypto is already going down and it feels like its about to die even though its not. If Vitalik dies, his crypto coins will definitely go to his family. I am sure that he had made a last will of testament. I don't think the market will crash when Vitalik dies because he only has a portion of the whole crpyto world.

Recently Vitalik Buterin wrote on his twitter that if he was not there, the project would be able to work without it. I think that's true. Currently, its value in the project is not so great.
ethereum might be dead but it is not going to happen in the nearest future so i think that we shall not worrg about it
