I have a vivid discussion with my friends lately. They say that one day people will forget what cash is and they will start use card only. Then the era of the changed and innovated cryptocurrency world comes, and we will stop using money and switch on crypto coins only. They say it might take twenty or thirty years, maybe longer, but it is a sure thing to happen, they have no doubts about it. I am not so sure... well, people might give up using cash as it is not that convenient, but giving up money as whole? I really really doubt it, it seems so impossible for me. What do you think? Maybe we will start using something brand new, neither cash nor cards? What is the future of the cryptocurrency world, anyway? Will it die in fifty, sixty years or it is going to be a thing that will live forever? Let's dream for a while Smiley

Cash is needed for developing countries. And it's also very convenient to bring with you, because it's not always the machine that works, it's when we need cash to pay.

You are right using of cash money will end it just a matter of time digital currency will take over and it will be good to see it happening soon
Never mankind can stop cash, because penny coin will be difficult to manage and can not afford to spend as convenient as cash, so I think that electronic money only partially supports not 100% cash replacement

It is possible that humanity would not use fiat due to technologies massive improvement to provide every aspects of humans lives. Everything could be done through technologies as what some countries doing today. Before we can replace fiat totally it takes more time for that because there is a process for everything.

Creating or operating a cashless world will be hard to some extent due to some technical know how. But I still think cryptocurrencies are of advantages over fiat currency.

users will not adapt too long if there are legal obligations. the problem is the preparation of the payment system from the companies that use it, their burden is far greater than the user to anticipate everything, especially accountability to consumers. Nothing is impossible and if the government has said crypto can be used, users will get used to it gradually.

There are places without internet connection in big countries. It is hard to provide Siberia with propper connection, so cash is the only option.
Maybe if when the world is already based on technology which means everyone are using technology and internet then possible they lessen to used cash because they will used digital currency. But i think people cannot stop used cash because there still some store need cash as payment also cash is more convenience to used because not all people have access to crypto and have internet.

That is definitely on the "cards" there has been a war on cash for some time now. Sweden seems to be the trial country they have all but eradicated cash use there now. Once the trial has completed expect it to role out in other countries under the banner of stamping out crime as let's face it criminals are the only ones who want to use cash right?  Roll Eyes

I think it is possible, but not now for sure. Maybe after 30-50 years, we will not use paper money at all. I think it's a great way to save the environment.

Your answer is really interesting. Really. But if you think about how much electricity and resources are required to produce a cryptocurrency. Of course, now more and more companies are starting to use renewable energy sources. But the resources that generate energy is also not unlimited.

I think crypto is a good alternative to cash because of the convenience of it will help a lot in the transaction. People can not use cash forever, because cash is gradually losing its value, they have to make a lot of money for everyone to use. So in the future people will gradually move on to something new and bring their convenience

Most likely because most of what is now taken is a credit card, but for small or traditional businesses, it still has to use conventional currency in general, but for modern times and the internet it will definitely be able to switch to the crypto world.

Computers were developed for 60 years in this form, after 60 years we can say that everyone has a computer, so computers are massively used.
So I think that same thing happen to crypto, we have to wait for very long time to see crypto as a means of payment.

I think people already stopped using cash for a lot of things like paying bills, paying debts, paying coffee, music, etc. We won't stop using cash, we are revamping it to a digital version. But what humanity will stop using, I believe is force to at least, is a debt base monetary system.

To change the cash will require a minimum of 2 or 3 generations. They will be replaced in any case, but this process will be slow and laborious.

I think it can happen much faster than you predict. Already cashless solutions are tested in some countries, for example in Sweden. Besides, just look how quickly in recent years constantly growth in popularity of payment cards.

This is very unlikely in our world. Bitcoins are very good and aggressive as well as shorten time and cost as well as security. By adopting traditional cash rules with older people. And they can not use Bitcoin. Besides, their government has to manage the cash for the economy so if humanity uses Bitcoin the government will?

I doubt it a lot since cash is the most convenient way to use your money, there are many stores that do not have the necessary technology to use bitcoin or transfers, what would be done in such cases? remember that there are rural areas that do not even reach the Internet, and these people will be consumers too, most will have to use cash to meet their needs.
