i think it will not but come more and more populiar and more good projects will come soon as crypto more and more come to our life and more users join this .
I like many ICO so I think good ICO still alive in 2018. people will be smart than now then no more land for scam ICO, lending ICO...

ICo will not die... but it would be nice if there was some quality control mechanism by third party. now that would be awesome, practical and profitable for everyone. if more people did things right when making an ICO it would decrease the number of ICOS in general but it would increase number of good-quality ICOs.

ICO will not disappear until they are in demand. Now and so the trend is improving. Many fraudster ICO does not collect half of the money. The ICO will continue. Because people are greedy. Also, Ethereum may have a lot to do with ICO, but other coins like Waves have not even begun to do ICO. ICO madness will continue to increase.
I suppose that ICOs in 2018 will move to a new level. The amount of project will be reduced, but the quality should be improved for sure. Moreover I guess that in 2018 ETH will share the place of the top ICO platform with NEM, NEO and other projects.
I hope this will be the case and not totally dying off. I mean, as bad as ICOs are imaged and known to many bitcoin users and traders, like it being a scam or a scheme used by some people to take advantage of other or steal useful data, I still think that there is still good in it because many starters and newbies use it as a means to earn token and coins. Not everyone, especially those who are just starting can support or have the capital to trade or invest without having a jump start to even have an asset to invest or trade, and that's where ICOs come in.

I agree with you. even lately, many ico are advertising on social media like facebook, youtube, and some sites on the internet. ico is getting popular today. You are right if ico is a good investment prospect, and it is unlikely to disappear in 2018. It will even continue to exist, as long as bitcoin or altcoin still exists.

I like your way of thoughts and I think so too. It's just another level of fundraising. I guess there will be governments' attempts to stop ICOs, but they won't be able to do that. The new economy is coming.
I see more and more countries are issuing or plan to issue related laws to control ico, so it will not die , but be in control by government .

I don't think cryptos should be mixed with startups/kickstarters. Cryptos should be trustless, transparent and decentralized, ICOs are none of those things so using a blockchain platform doesn't really offer any benefits to them, in fact just giving a bad name to cryptos.

I dont think by the same way as you, icos are a good thing after all.
Maybe without them, there would not even be a quarter of all the altcoins that are on the top 20 at the moment.
In my opinion ICO's are great thing, but we are in the beginning... We have a lot of scammers but in the other hand we also have great companies coming ...

I was reading your bold sentence and it seems just another bullshit. Can you give me the more explanation about why was kickcity using the ico to raise the fund? Well, since you asked =) KickCity exists for two years and its time to expand. Blockchain and the token economy will let platform to up to the next level. There is the Grant from Helsinki Government but this is not enough. The idea is referral system - users will be promoting events and get reward with cryptocurrency. It will be safer with blockchain.
What makes you feel optimistic about the referral system will be working properly in the future? So many people are spamming their referrals anywhere.
ICOs will never die but it will just be more difficult to separate the good ones from the scams. Scammers are likely to become more sophisticated so need to do more research and ensure only good ones are invested in. Hopefully the scam icos will die!
This so much. Honestly at this point i don't consider ICOs a good investment anymore. Wait for them to hit the exchange, and if the product is useful, the price will rise.
I see no point in investing money in a certain ICO, when there are probably 10 similar projects out there at the same time, each promising the same thing

some ICOs just selling a concept without having the actual product or even a prototype. But most of ICO participants doesn't care about. as long as they can make a good profit, why not?

I think we are only at the beginning of the development path, but in 2018 I think government will issue more laws to control this area.
A higher level of complexity of fund-raising is guaranteed. Too many of them now. Many ICO created do not understand why. Many scams. And really good projects will be lost among them. but still will not die.
