The right religion will save you. All the wrong ones won't.

Why does one need to be saved in the first place? From what or from whom? Life is as it is. We can't change its' rules, we can't make it somehow different. One might like or dislike it. Everything that happens to us is meant to be like this whether we want it or not. We didn't ask to bring us here, this life just happened to us. I don't think we can change anything but our perception. If you admit that life is hard and it was designed to be like this, then you can move further and come to terms with it. All we can really do is just patiently observe what is occurring within and without of us until the very end of this story  

What is religion? Among the parts of the definition of religion at https://www.dictionary.com/browse/religion?s=t, is the part that says: "something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience: to make a religion of fighting prejudice." This means that religion covers most of what a person does in his life, because he does most of it religiously. He gets dressed religiously every day. He goes to work religiously everyday. He definitely eats meals religiously everyday. He breathes religiously all the time. All of these mundane things are part of what he practices religiously, in addition to his special activities, like politics, jogging, dating, etc.

It isn't religion that saves people. We can see this from the fact that people die even though they do all kinds of things religiously.

What saves people? Life is so complex that we don't know how it works. We know how to enhance it somewhat. But Chinese and Japanese ancient medicine and philosophy seems to do a better job of enhancing life than Western medicine and philosophy.

The only thing that saves is God. His method for doing it was to come and do the work of salvation for us, through His Son, Jesus, becoming a human being. It was mankind who broke the complexity of life - including the ultra-complexity of the soul. So, it took God in human form to restore the complexity of life.

God-believers still die. But God-believers who believe in God's promise of resurrection to eternal life (in better form than it was in the perfection of the Garden of Eden) will live even though they die in this life. Believing, practicing, and growing in this religion is the only way religion will save anyone. And the only place the form of this religion is found in detail is in the Bible.

I really don´t understand people who think religion will save them but in their private lives they have a bad behaviour, argue a lot with their partners, insult other people and even enter in porn websites. Where is religion in this cases? I think this people have to reflect a little bit about that

No religion can save you. It is your practical  exhibition of Godly Characters that is approved by God that is inline with what God have written in his  Holy books that can save you.Holy conducts in speech, thoughts, Actions, exhibition of Love to your God, and to your Neighbors are inline with what God holds in high esteem. Many tends to be Religious and the actual practice thereby is missing from their lives, these type of people only holds to the outer form of the Religion. Many are seen in this type of Practice in the name of been Religious which can not save them. God seek true worshipers and not those who are merely Religious in appearance and nature. No Religion will save any body except those that does  the will of God in Heaven.Those are the people that God  Knows and acknowledge as his Children and  believers.

Religion can't save you. In my country they believe that they will be save if you are one of them. How sad. Because many people believe this scam.

It's okay to believe, but if your religion is all about your donation. Please think again.

Religion wasn’t debatable in any case,if you believe or not who cares?whats important is you’re doing the right thing and doing it with heart and not just a show off to others
We have our own beliefs as it was passes by our ancestors,but we can seek rightful in many ways now as it was being exposed in our days now

The questions are this:
- What really is meant by religion?
- Saved from what, or to what?

James in the Bible tells us what pure religion is. Remember that James is talking to believers in Jesus, the Savior. James 1:27:
In other words, pure religion is to help the weak.

Why should we accept what James writes? Because we all need help from time to time. And we are all weak. So, the acceptance of help from someone who is stronger, makes us filled with gratitude towards our helper. And when we understand this, we start to feel gratitude towards God Who made us all, and everything for our enjoyment.

If we are Christian, this is what saves us. However, there is no other real salvation.

People who think that death is a passage to oblivion will be surprised by their own resurrection from the dead. Why wouldn't there be any resurrection? Think. The making of us in this life is essentially impossible according to anything that we know. So, why does anyone think that it won't happen again?

In our age of science we have been trained to listen to scientists and their proponents who suggest that they know that there isn't any God. But those same scientists don't understand how things work, and how we really came to be. They are setting themselves up in the place of God by doing this.

Oh sure. They say that they understand. But they prove that they don't by not knowing enough to extend their own lives. They still die, usually within 100 years, just like everyone else. They don't really have the answers. Their answers without God are purely guesses.

Being saved has to do with being on God's side in the resurrection, in favor of Him. Why be in vafor of God in the resurrection? So that He will save you to the new life He has planned for all who call on Him with a sincere heart. This can only be accomplished by believing what He says. And the best example of His sayings by far is the Bible. But you have to read the Bible to understand it.

But people always want to make their religion superior and to achieve it they disrespect people from other religions which results in mob lynching etc
Silent believe in religion is good but excess showoff is dangerous

Religion can be a driving force in society, but as a reactionary rather than in a radical way. Functionalism Functionalists believe that religion maintains social solidarity and value consensus amongst a society's population and this helps maintain the well-being of society

One of the greatest lies that Satan has foisted on the human race is that religion can save you. By “religion,” I mean adherence to the beliefs and practices of a religion in the hope that your performance will gain you right standing with God. Whether it is Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, or even Christianity, there have always been millions who mistakenly thought that obedience to their religion would earn them eternal life.

No, I don’t believe religion will save anyone. Does that mean I don’t believe in God? Far from it. Religion is just the way used to describe how someone believes in God. There are literally thousands of religions. It is not the religion that saves but God decides who will be saved.

Being a Christian, and saying you are a Christian, are two different things. Many who claim to be Christian are exposed as false Christians by the way they live their lives. Going to Church does not make you a Christian any more than standing in you garage makes you an automobile.

The long way we have come regarding evolution, is to prove that evolution is impossible in any way we can imagine.

The Bible records kept by the scribes of Ancient Israel, show that when Israel obeyed God, they had success. But when they disobeyed God, they had failure. Since God raised Jesus, there will be resurrection... because it is predicted by God for there to be such a day.

Just a thought.

Save him from what? Hell? Fire and torture after he's dead? The guy probably doesn't even believe there's going to be anything after we die. Evolution hasn't entirely been proven yet but that theory has come a long way from what we previously know. And funny thing is that majority of the religions today always talk about being saved after one dies. Nobody's even come back to tell us whether there's indeed a paradise or an eternal torture. Just a thought though 🙂

Essentially everything that we live in our lives is based on personal religion/philosophy. Our religion might be in line with the religion of many others, but our whole lives are still religion. They are religion because we only believe things about the future. If we actually knew anything about our future, people would know how to avoid death. But we don't. There are still car crashes that kill. We still die in plane crashes. We still die of food poisoning. All of this would be avoided if we knew a little of the future. But we don't. So, we live a life of hoping that we are right in our guesstimations of the future. This is what religion is. We are all immersed in living lives of religion all the time. Even when we say that we are non-religious, this is part of our personal religion.

Why is this important? So that we understand that the complexity of the universe is way beyond our understanding. And so that we understand that if we are saved at all, it is by God's doing.

Has God saved us? He has prepared salvation for us. This salvation is shown in the Bible, and particularly the New Testament. The salvation was done by Jesus, the Son of God. Being the Son of God, Jesus could overcome the complexity necessary to provide salvation for us. And He did it for His own reasons and purposes, although it cost Him much, including pain and death (He arose from death on the third day, because even death can't hold God down.)

The way God offers salvation to us is through believing the fact of His providing salvation through Jesus. Why believing? Because we aren't able to understand enough of the complexity of how it all works to know that it is a fact. We have to believe, just like we believe everything else we do in life (See the first paragraph, above.).

So, it is God Who saves us through our religion of faith in His Son, Jesus the Christ. That's the only way religion saves us. It's God's way.

There is no religion that can save you. Religion has a deeper meaning. People need to have faith, that after bad days or weeks there will always be good days etc. Religious gives a lot people strength to live their lives and inspire others. It is something you believe and count on. If you look at this as saving than the answer is yes.

The funny thing is, the evolution religion that you have won't save you. But, the Christian religion can, if you believe it right.

Everyone needs faith in something, but it shouldn't close your mind to everything else.

My faith is evolution.  It hasn't been proven, but it's the one that makes observation and curiosity important.  

Well in a religion where I am belong before they said if you're member of their religion you're already save when the time the world comes to an end. So even a sinner as long as you're member of their religion you're still save.

IMO, religion cant save us but its a way to be close to god and have a strong belief.

If you're not a member of any religion but you believe in God and you have a good heart then I think you can still be save.
