no, because that's my private wallet, as long as I'm not doing some shady transactions, well, nope
of course not people join bitcoin also have reason to give them privacy of their transactions right ? That advantage bitcoin
of course I am. the government will not be able to do anything in bitcoin also for intervention. so calm down they will not do it

they'd have to prove first that i own bitcoin and if they did. they would have to prove then which is my wallet. and if they did proved its my wallet then it is. they can check it after all its transparent they need not to open a wallet, infact everyone can check someone else wallet.

I will never allow the government to know what my wallets are. And there is no need to as there are easy steps to cash out coins without governments or banks noticing anything. Just mix your coins and sell them face to face to someone, and no government or bank knows that you have cashed out your coins.

If government want to look my account, I will appreciate it. Because government will never do any scams with us. Government is trusted. Also they can freely look into my account any time they want because it is empty. Grin
So I am not going to give any restrictions, its free and you are welcome at any time.  Wink
hahaha yeah, i would show all my wallets that are empty too, i wouldnt have any trouble with that, though i would definitely destroy all my private keys then in order not to use it any more

i think that wouldnt be a really bad thing if they would actually check my wallets though in my opinion i wouldnt like it too much because i really like as much privacy as possible

In the coming days when the government will legalize bitcoin and puts up regulatory rules and policies on the use of bitcoins it is a prerogative of the government to monitor the bitcoin transactions as well as your bitcoin wallet. For how many years bitcoin has been operating outside the hands of the government and many illegal operations especially in the black market is taking place without being traced. This coming events may be helpful to the stability of bitcoins in its operation and security.

I would move to Panama, or some place where they don't try funky stuff like that. In time most people will move to safe havens and the old governments with wither away due to the lack of btc business =)

Certainly not! Bitcoin does not need "legalization" by the government control freaks. Putting Bitcoin under government control is also not a helpful for stability or security at all. Proof: The central banks are operating under government control.

If you want a payment system that centralized payment system that takes away your freedom and implements KYC/AML policies to spy on you, just use Paypal. Bitcoin is not for you. Bitcoin is incompatible with statist officialdom. The very reason for its invention was to end the oppressive and destructive regime of centralized fiat monetary policy.

a very very easy way to bypass the government forcing to look into your wallet to have multiple wallets, and just show them one that looks all nice and formal, and do your bitcoin stuff on a different secret one.

I don't think I'd like to allow the government to look into my wallets at all because I think that's just an invasion of privacy. You can actually partially know a person's wealth if they look at our bitcoin wallets. I wouldn't mind if they looked at my bitcoin wallet just as long as they don't know that I own it.

I think people are shifting to bitcoins because they want freedom from governments to stop peeping in their savings and avoid unnecessary taxes etc.
So we do not want the government to take control of this bitcoins.
It's only saddening to know that some governments are actually trying to profit from bitcoins and placing taxes on anyone who's using bitcoins. I saw this article about a bill that's being reviewed in North Carolina and it made me both sad for the people in North Carolina, and angry for their government.

I'm not so sure. That is the exact thing if they would look into my bank account. And if they have no good reason and legal basis and if I haven't done anything wrong then they are not allowed to do that. So, the same thing aplies to my Bitcoin wallet.

Well I don't have much to hide lol so I wouldn't mind but whales with deep wallets who are amassing a truck load of bitcoin I am sure wouldn't be at all amused at the Inland Revenue or Irs having a sneak peak at their bitcoin holdings. The few satoshi I earn from faucets and a few bounties that I do some services are not even above the basic tax threshold, so for me there is no worry whatsoever.  Smiley

no! i will not allow goverment to look into my real wallet so why would i let them do that with my btc wallets.
well i guess you have no chance of choosing to allow governments check your bank fiat wallets as in my opinion they can do it easily all the time and that is a really bad thing in my opinion

i would definitely not allow my country government to check through my wallet in my opinion because in my opinion then they would have more info about me and i like anonymity

thats true with banks in most countries. however normally goverments are not allowed to come and check how much money you have in your back pocket.

If the government really, really wanted to they could, I don't know why they would care but I'm not going to risk a lawsuit or whatever over whatever number of Bitcoin I have in my wallet.

If Bitcoin became a massive strategic investment for countries though, such as becoming a replacement or parallel reserve currency, then I would be tucking away my Bitcoin and not making any big movements or letting anyone see what I have.

If bitcoin will become a decentralized one in your country or even it don't but your local bitcoin exchanges are complying in your country's law, you have no choice but to give your personal information to that exchange as part of their security protocol if you used their services.

It is necessary but it doesn't mean you are allowing the government to check your wallet. That is against the law even on fiat terms. It will just be allowed if there's something unusual happen that involves your account.

I think the question of "allowing" the government to look into your bitcoin wallets is moot. If they wanted to, I'm sure they can get access to all of anyone's bitcoin wallets and bitcoin dealings and transactions. And to cover their asses, all they would have to do is play the Homeland Security card to rationalize/justify their snooping in on anyone's private business.

Here we go again... let's assume everyone is American.

If you don't pay taxes then no matter what country you live in you'll have to give up any private keys. To people saying they 'wouldn't allow' them to look into your bitcoins... you're a f***ing idiot haha. It's not your choice. If you don't like it then live somewhere where you don't pay taxes for your dirt roads and mud huts.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
in case i wanted to run a business with my money in bitcoin then i guess i have no choice but to let government to check my bitcoin wallets and let them.

but since i am earning bitcoin and spending it anonymously i would like it to stay that way.
