Some tech-savvy wedding-goers are gifting the digital currency to new couples. Honeyfund, a honeymoon registry that allows guests to give cash rather than gifts, has seen more than a dozen customers donate in bitcoin, said chief executive officer and co-founder Sara Margulis. In recent years, more than a dozen customers have chosen to route donations to the site from bitcoin wallets. Zola, a wedding registry website, has had just two cash funds created for bitcoins since 2013, a spokeswoman said. "I would expect it to pop more as millennials come into the wedding age,” Honeyfund’s Margulis said. “It’s something you will do if your friends and family are already into bitcoin.

Bitcoin as an retirement plan, bitcoin to secure the future of your kids, and now bitcoin as a wedding gift. Whether or not bitcoin replaces cash in future, it looks like the trend of gifting bitcoin instead of cash at weddings is definitely going to catch up and more wedding registeries would be adding bitcoin as a gifting option.

Avoid using a wedding gift "as an opportunity to proselytize a technology you personally believe in, but the recipient could not care less about."

People who are not into bitcoin might not appreciate getting a volatile currency as a gift, and might never use it, thus adding it to the list of lost coins, but I think people who are already using bitcoin or would most probably use it in future then bitcoin instead of cash is the apt wedding gift for them.

Giving bitcoin as a gift for someone especially for a newlyweds is really beneficial because bitcoin can be their initial fund in starting their new life as a husband and wife. Just like the normal scenario in other countries tradition wherein they give money for the couple to be their initial money to start up their life, I think it will be just fine of giving bitcoin as a wedding gift because it will be more beneficial and really worthy since bitcoin has a potential to grow with a short span of time enabling those couple to have a big fund for their future.

In my country, people only use money as a gift in wedding. Beside, almost people in my country don't know about Bitcoin of course my friends are not exceptions Smiley)). 9 out of 10 of my friends don't know anything about Bitcoin so if I use Bitcoin as a gift for their wedding they will look me like i'm coming from another planet Smiley). But I'm very happy when I saw the news that Bitcoin will be legalized in my country in next 2 years and I hope that it will be cause the exchange rate in my country is very low so I just want to use Bitcoin to buy everything directly.

Generally, money as a gift, it's not very gentleman, how much will I offer? there is nothing better than material gifts, besides a real gift it stays for life, whenever the person sees it she will remember

No matter in which currency are expressed gift if there is love, peace and warm attitude each to other. Why not? It's normal gift with normal price/ value but if you know that person cannot accept it because he never use it before or based on other reason reason then exchange this BTC/USD and it will be more acceptabil for some people.

I need to think twice, if i will make bitcoin as a wedding gift even for friends, Except in small amount. Because, i still need bitcoin. For provision later.
Bitcoins value keeps on rising with time but still if the couple getting married is close to you, it will be really generous and an act of love to give them something precious in gift. This will show how much they are important to you. Also, they will be giving a good gift at your wedding or birthday. Exchanging of such precious asset will increase the sweetness in relation.

This has happened in Turkey recently. But I wouldn't do this to a friend yet. I don't think other people will understand what  has just happened at that time. But transaction would be funny to talk between friends Cheesy

Not yet, because my friends has more bitcoin than me. As well as most of them are married, it's more likely that i will receive bitcoin as a wedding gift.

If he or she is my close friend i will definitely give them but not those who is just a friend. But if he or she is not aware of bitcoin, it might be a waste for them as well haha. He or she might ended up realizing his or her friend just gave them bitcoin in the wedding after 5-10 years maybe?

Yes, I can give Bitcoin as a wedding gift and others can also give it because they think of me as a great gift because they can have a wealth for long-term and can pay their money as an emergency and Bitcoin is a better currency so it seems very acceptable. Do I think Bitcoin is less like a gold, diamond and pearl. So I can say in frankly I will give Bitcoin as a wedding gift.

Why not? I mean, if you can give to the newly wed then why not? As long as they can have a bitcoin wallet, maybe this will be the best gift. But if I will give bitcoin as a wedding gift, I will not give 1btc, I will just give around .02 btc. lol. That is enough to give. That is also a good amount when converted in fiat.  Grin

.02 is kind of small as a wedding gigt..lol however, you can buy any physical gift out of .02btc that can be a very nice wedding present for your friends that are having a wedding. but if you really decide to give a bitcoin, .2 - 1 btc is fair enough.

Why not , I will willingly give out bitcoin as a wedding gift if conditions that can make the couples exchange it to fiat is achievable I will do so, after all bitcoin has become a globally acceptable virtual currency and if a reasonable amount is gifted to the couple that will go a long way in solving their financial inadequacy.
Giving bitcoin as a wedding gift, why not! I would willingly give it as a gift because I know it can help them to their starting up as a couple. It can be make as an investment to them, maybe it can be their start in business.

This is a very special thing if bitcoin becomes a wedding gift.
In the wedding I will try to give a wedding gift that is BITCOIN
