If the primary needs still use fiat including investment should be easier fiat, but if investment and aware of the potential of bitcoin of course this is an important part while keeping up with the times, the digital age makes it easy to store with bitcoin and convert to any digital and local currency, the ups and downs of prices I consider it the art of buying and selling or franchising in real business, it makes sense according to, I chose these 2 currencies even though they are physically different but their usefulness is the same even though they have advantages in their respective liquidity. complete investment instrument and tools future economy.

Did you mean you rather have an establishment where your many is working regularly to generate profit? Crypto investment is one of the best alternatives though. Mostly when the volatility is on the advantage side it’s definitely going to bring huge profits.

And huge losses.
Crypto trading is similar to any other forex trade. Leverage goes both ways.
You want to invest and loose all go ahead.

If you invest with loses in mind you need to go the road of real estate, Metals, etc..

It all depends on where we plan to invest our money. There are many nitch we can invest money that would bring good profits for us just like the way we can invest in cryptocurrency and make a lot of profits. Cryptocurrency investment need one to understand the market before investing our fund because the market is very risky and if we make the mistake of investing our funds in the wrong coin, we can end up making loses due to our mistakes. Crypto invest need concentration and good understanding on how the market works which will guide us on how to say safe in the market.

You have to provide more details about what you mean by cryptocurrency. Like are you comparing between Usd and BTC or USD and Doge? Because this section is only concerns about BTC not about doge or any other token.

Besides this, I will prefer to invest in BTC instead of investing in fiat. Because my friend earned $1500 and I earned $1500 few months back, he kept them in fiat I kept them in the form of BTC and now I made around $250 plus on my $1500 amount and he is not. I hope you got the answer.
Investment in bitcoin is simply profitable than fiat currency where you have to battle with inflation drilling down the value of your fiat investment or savings unlike bitcoin that's resistant to inflation and even with the volatility it has if you know what you're doing you can always take advantage of the volatility whenever there's a dip to DCA and make profit when the price rises.  We are likely to make a huge success faster based on our knowledge about bitcoin and the market, knowing when to buy, having a good management risk and staying unshakable even when FUD arises as these a just the few challenges we're likely to encounter as bitcoin holders.

Making investments in crypto or fiat? Or using crypto or fiat for other investments? These are two different scenarios, in the first one, you buy a certain cryptocurrency or save money in a certain fiat currency hoping for its value to increase over time against your local currency so that you can get some profit. The second one is using either cryptocurrencies or fiat for making investments in something else, like a business or something, that will generate revenue for you.

For the first scenario, I believe cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, would probably be a better choice since it's volatile and its value tends to go up from time to time and drop as well, but it eventually generates some profits for you. For the second part, I believe it's better to simply use fiat to invest in a business or something, also because cryptocurrencies can't be invested directly as they aren't widely accepted.

Where you choose to invest your money should be determine by time factor or when to use it. I think the money you can keep in bitcoin is a money that is not needed urgently because if it's a money that needs to be used in a short time, you might run at lost or gain but more secure in USDT because it's stable. Investing in crypto is like gambling your money. If paraventure this money you gained $250 in an investment of $1500 was vise versa you lost $250 out of $1500, what would have been your perspective on bitcoin? So different people have different experience on bitcoin investment so your happy story might be a sad one to another. That is why we always say that Bitcoin investment should always be a long term investment in other not to Lost your fund.
You are right, the sentiments and emotions of humans change about a thing, whether that is a loss or a profit. If BTC made me $250+ profit, I am happy; otherwise, I would not be, but as you said, it all depends on the investment plan, and mine was to hold my funds till 2025 or the next ATH (of course I don't know when the next ATH will be, but at least I can be prepared for it). And about using money in the short term, BTC can be used for short-term purposes, but that is not how things work. If you have $1500 in BTC, it does not mean that you have no other funds in fiat. That's why you should not keep all your savings or capital in one form.

I have said so many times that emergency funds are necessary, even if you think the situation is not bad. You still have to keep some funds in case of an emergency. Investing in crypto is not like gambling, and I did not gamble my money. If I had gambled, then I would not have said that ATH is coming, and it will come till 2025, because in gambling we cannot do analysis like we can in crypto investment (holding or trading).

Fiat as an investment? I can't really imagine how will it work because when we say investment, it's about earning huge for the long term but fiat is much stable than the crypto. Maybe there are small fluctuations sometimes but it's like they have a fix limit on how much they can gain. They can always recover to $1 if we use US Dollar as an example. If we are talkin about trading, maybe it doesn't look bad at all.

This is why there are forex trading, but I never heard of forex investment. I don't think volatility is that hard to understand but there is more than it like controlling an emotion, that one should learn and master in order to be victorious on this field.

Why choose? There's no such thing as "rather" where in the first place we can take advantage of both.

It depends on how far you understand the risks if you tend to choose either fiat or crypto. There's no easy road to success. Dealing with the volatility is the challenge in crypto. While in fiat, dealing with inflation should be the priority.

Like any other investment, it should be well-planned from the start, and understanding the basics is necessary before engaging.

You seems to understand the point, volatility is what the crypto investors deal with while inflation is what people who have fiat investments in banks deals it. Although I guess the volatility in the crypto space can still work either in your favour or against you. Crypto seems to have more profit talking base on my own personal investments in crypto up till date. That’s the reason why I will advice anyone to DYOR but choose crypto.

Most of crypto is too fragile for long term investment — hacks, scams, volatility and also require individual ability to secure funds.

However, returns are greater in crypto, if one wants to make good amount of money in short time, crypto is the way but do your due diligence and stay away from shady part where scams lie.

Actually this can still be applied to banks (of course fake ones) except for the volatility. Since we were in the era of the internet and technology, some banks are open to digital banks where you can save and invest at home which is prone from hacking and scamming. Even a simple text from your phone where there's a link that once you click, it could gather all the data from your phone which can drained up your funds. Also I have seen some cases where fake banks are scamming uneducated people to financial and senior citizen by encouraging them to use their banks, but shortly they would just run with bags of money from the people. But yeah, crypto is much riskier since its decentralized, all of your moves and decisions might affect your funds unlike to centralized system wheren they can secure your funds safety.

Currently one of the problems of people right now is inflation, if you make an investment in the banks or the fiat currency the price of your asset might get lower due to it, in cryptocurrency you are getting a ride with the market volatility, and your asset has a chance to gain profit or to lose depends on the price action movement, still an ideal move is to invest in asset that possibly giving a good cashflow so you don't need to get worried with your fiat or even in crypto. Only the time frame, price and the risk matters here.

Investing in general not just in cryptocurrency in general should have the matter of understanding what the market is. You cannot just apply and put all your money in one basket because that's going to make lose your investment if you don't have any idea about it. It's best that you do it properly by learning all about it and understanding the focus of the investment and how you will have the ROI.

I would love to use FIAT instead of cryptocurrency just for easier computation in my head. I would like to put it on to a spreadsheet so I would know what to do.

I think there are more opportunities for easy computation in crypto too. I can definitely put you there provided you need help.

Yes, but the volatility of cryptocurrency is the reason why it presented great opportunities and it's also the reason why it's an outstanding asset in the investment space.

I think people who choose cryptocurrency not only don't need to learn about its volatility because they are already attracted to its volatility. Volatility is considered a distinguishing characteristic of cryptocurrencies compared to any other market, and people choose cryptocurrencies for the volatility, the stronger the volatility, the higher the chance of making a profit.

Now the question is even with the volatility will you still choose crypto over fiat when it comes to making investments?
I will always choose crypto over fiat currency anytime and day. It is not something that's hard to know that the end of the era of fiat currency is getting closer and people are looking for alternatives in crypto.

I have never considered fiat currency an investment, it is just a unit of measurement and method of payment. If we compare cryptocurrencies, I think it would be more appropriate to compare them to financial markets like stocks and gold rather than fiat.

You need to understand that you can make investments in bank by having your money saved without being touched and you get your interest monthly. The crypto space also have such opportunities but I feel saving in cryptocurrency is more better

I guess doing a very good research and trying to do your due diligence is very important once you already understand the volatility of the market.

<...> will you still choose crypto over fiat when it comes to making investments?

Well, I have investments in both, although not specifically 'crypto' but more specifically bitcoin, but I also have investments in fiat. It is not incompatible, and although there are bitcoin maximalists on the forum who have all or almost all their assets in bitcoin, I prefer to diversify more.

I have never considered fiat currency an investment, it is just a unit of measurement and method of payment. If we compare cryptocurrencies, I think it would be more appropriate to compare them to financial markets like stocks and gold rather than fiat.

Well, in my case I am referring to fiat investments such as bonds, equities or mutual funds. Not buying currencies as in forex.

I think you got my point here! There are savings we made in banks that yield interest like 3% per month, it’s equally in the crypto space, you can hodl your BTC and still subscribe into a particular savings product like the Bitget shark Fin where you get 7% interest if your saving as APR. which would you rather choose, is it that of fiat or that of the crypto space?

But holding bitcoins on a centralized exchange like bitget to earn interest is already a bad idea, although bitget is offering higher interest rates than savings interest rates in banks. If I am forced to put my bitcoins in risky centralized exchanges, I would rather accept that depositing my money in a bank is safer. Investing in bitcoin offers better returns than bank deposits, but if you invest incorrectly, you take on greater risk than holding fiat currency.

Depending on what your choice of exchange is either CEX or DEX, holding your asset on a centralized exchange isn’t a bad idea at all. Basically top tier exchanges like Binance, Bitget, OKX has been building the industry so well than to pose more risk than good, also with the recent proof of reserve by this exchanges especially Bitget, I’m sure your investment will yield great.

Just as CryptopreneurBrainboss said fiat has nothing to write home about when it comes to investment, too much inflation affecting fiat, most especially my country's currency naira. 1 Worth of USD converted to my country's fiat in binance exchange is N898, so why the hell should I even think of investing in fiat when Bitcoin exist.
Some crypto are not worth investing in, especially when they are altcoin you have to be careful when dealing with such coins and tokens. Even if I'll be paid in altcoin, coin swapping would be ASAP to Bitcoin to ensure I'll not be a victim when the coin crashes. They say prevention is better than cure, it's better to avoid them than to say had it been I knew.

Your points are really great, nevertheless there are still altcoins with good utility and great potential, they can equally worth investing in. Anyways I’ve always make most of my investment in crypto through hodling and sometimes I use the shark fin product of Bitget in order to get monthly interest up to 7% APR.
