because

1* I don't have account related to Raiffeisen Banking Group
2* I used this account for deposit fiat without any issues
3* My bank is bitcoin friendly (checked with them yesterday)
4* I'm paying customer - is not my problem at all, that they are not able to send me my money to account, which I used earlier with them for deposit

in the end...they asked me to create another bank account. Problem is, that even I can do it, there is no guarantee, that RB will not be a relay bank so I can end up in same situation..

Ask Bitstamp what bank they recommend in DE and its bitcoin friendly.

here we go again:

Dear stupid,

We regret to inform you that your withdrawal request has been rejected.

Reason:
Bitstamp has recently learned that the Raiffeisen Banking Group has adopted an internal policy regarding Bitcoin-related transfer.

The group no longer allows transfer related to Bitcoin. We have therefore cancelled your withdrawal transfer.

Please request your future bank withdrawals to an alternate bank account held in your name.

well well, so I asked my bank today and they don't have any problems when processing bitcoin payments. So today, I sold few bitcoins and requested withdraw again + created support ticket explaining them, that there are no problems on my side and is their job to make sure, that TX will be done smooth and correctly.

I will keep you informed here. I strongly hope, that this time they will proceed it..

Legendary Escrow Service - Tip Jar in Profile

mate, I'm from Czech Republic and Airbank is pure Czech bank owned by PPF group as mentioned already above. they are not connected at all and links from google showing comparison of bank services and products in my country..

so again, it is not about banking system, check what I already posted..

Hi, I don't want to defend Bitstamp, but it's possible that the international transfers are somehow processed through RB (I remember there was similar partnership between FIO and CSOB banks, before FIO received bank licence).

hey, yes you are right. Bitstamp using some non-RB bank, I'm using also non-RB bank but somewhere in the middle is RB, which is acts as "relay" between us. I was not even aware, that it is working like this, so only fact, that bitstamp is not warning about this remains..

anyway, still is tricky, that is possible to deposit and impossible to withdraw with same bank account.

When it took you so long to find that out then this sounds like a problem. I mean it would be difficult to check out which banks use these relay banks. And even if they don't they might change to using them.

That definitely is not a good thing for bitcoin. It might be that many banks are unuseable now. :/ I hope it's not one of mine.

A prime example of how fucked up the banking system is.

A simple gsearch turns out they are somehow connected in the Czech Republic though: https://www.google.de/?gws_rd=ssl#q=raiffeisenbank+airbank

Send this to support: "Try Airbank instead of RB group.  The account to which I asked you to deposit is actually not part of RB group anyway.  You guys must have screwed up your data somewhere."

And please keep us posted.  Even if you no longer want to withdraw, it might be worth trying just to see what happens as you push Bitstamp to make sense when they (mistakenly, we must assume) aren't making sense.

ok here we go - received today when I asked what happened and told them, that my bank is not part of RB group:

Code:
Dear XX,

We would like to explain that the problem does not lie with your bank, but with one of the intermediary banks.
We were also surprised to learn about the intermediary bank's internal decision to stop processing all bitcoin related transfers.

For this reason we have also notify you about this issue in advance, before processing your bank withdrawal request,
in an attempt to prevent any possible issues, which could occur while transferring your funds through the banking system.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

We remain available to you in case you have any further questions about the issue or if you require any additional assistance.

Best regards,
Nejc Srečnik

so those experts recommended me to create new account: "Please request your future bank withdrawals to an alternate bank account held in your name" (this is what I received in initial reject status mail)

and now 24 hours later: "problem does not lie with your bank"

so I'm keeping pushing them and want to explain, how to withdraw fiat from bitstamp and which banks are safe. if it is not about my bank account, how can I be sure, that they will not block my funds in the future because of some stupid excuse..:(

I prefer evolution to revolution.
Agree. They could/should do better regarding informing people. But have you tried contacting them and point out that your bank is not part of RG group? Logically, if your deposits go through fine, there shouldn't be any issues with withdrawals (unless bank changes policy in between).

Looks like you got very lousy info from customer service.

from my point of view, before doing such action as rejecting withdraw (blocking my money on their site), they should be 200% 300% sure, that their decision is correct.

again, it is not rocket science to find out, if my bank is part of Raiffeisen Banking Group or not. they pissed me so much, that I didn't even create some stupid tickets. at least bitcoin withdraws are fine. anyway, as mentioned above, I'm done with them..

Why do you actually blame Bitstamp not the bank in this case?

Providing your bank is part of RB group (if not, let bitstamp know), there's not much Bitstamp can do about it (I don't think you realise the gap between RB and Bitstamp if you think they can sort this out on 'b2b level'). If you're not happy with your bank's policy, just switch to more friendly one.

well, few facts:

1* my bank is Airbank, which is not even part of Raiffeisen Banking Group (it is part of PPF group - http://www.ppf.eu/en/companies/air-bank) - I took me literally 7 seconds to check it with google.
2* if there is problem with withdraws to one of the major bank groups in Europe, where is their official statement on web?
3* they allowed me to deposit from my bank account and rejects withdraw to same account few days later. really?

you know, I'm quite long with bitcoin and I don't care so much, as it may looks like. anyway, those small catches may demotivate average Joe's even start thinking about bitcoin. sadly, this is how it works..

Open an account at a bitcoin-friendly bank. I recommend fidor: https://www.fidor.de/

yes, but it is not a solution.

I don't want to share all my personal data with another bank company, I don't want to have another plastic card and I don't want to receive stupid letters with amazing offers to my mail.

I really don't have idea, why bitstamp taking their own customers as victims and they are not able to solve the situation professionally on b2b level and without bothering me. well, I actually bought BTC back and I'm done with them, anyway, this is just warning for any potential customers - keep in mind that they can block withdraw of your funds due to their own problems.

what the hell is this? my bank is not part of RB group + there is no warning on the site and I used this account before without any problems. any idea how to solve this except going to bank and create new account somewhere?
