The price crashed, and then it was found out that there were no hidden coins.https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7428989 I watched it happen, and thought it was strange with everyone in the poloniex trollbox talking about the "scam" some buyers appeared soaking all the coins up from all the people who panicked.

I am going to take a wild guess and say the next layer is an encryption layer. You can see in the early network topology maps there is mention of encryption layers
