I've been reading up on XC and it looks solid - I bought my first 200 XC yesterday and today (woohoo!). One thing I haven't been able to figure out: if I accumulate 1000 XC and create an Xmixer, will I lose my ability to stake and only collect Xmixer fees? Or can I both stake and act as an Xmixer?

If I have to choose between running an Xmixer or stake, which do y'all think is more profitable? Thanks XCers (goats Cheesy?)!

at the moment staking is more profitable until the mixers fees are fined tuned...anyway yep you will have to choose one or the other for the moment

That answers my question - thanks!

The goat thing started as a joke and actually still is a joke, but I think because I have been with XC(and my name is Mountaingoat) for a while now and goats are just funny in general people started using them as the official unnoficial mascot of XC.

Here is the post I made about it:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8864030

I am not a part of the XC team btw.

Goats are indeed funny - I fully support the goat logo  Cheesy

i think a goat has no connections to XC at all and wouldn't be a good decision branding wise.

one better animal than a goat would be a cameleon, as it is hard to spot like the private transactions of XC.

Goat can also mean G.O.A.T. -Greatest Of All Time. Just sayin..

But seriously, just having fun.

Its great to see so many websites featuring the recent updates, I'm extremely excited to see what happens over the next few months.

Coindesk missing off course.... Do they still promote Crypto?

Not sure, if they are promoting still crypto or not, but I think why they don't promote.
It's good source of earning for them.

The goat has nothing to do with XC branding it is just a fun thing for this thread..

Edit: If someone from the XC team comes in here and says to stop spamming goats as they feel they might affect the image of XC I think everyone will stop istantly.. as well if I see goats spammed all over the thread I will be the first to ask to stop..
What if a goat complains?? We have very sensitive goats here. They might feel offended.

Have you tried out XChat yet?

Not yet - I'm not a big chat person TBH, but I am interested in the technology, so I plan to check it out soon.

Feel free to send me a test message using the details in my signature.

Since you're interested in XC's tech, once XChat Mobile launches, XC will have a major market in its targets. It'll be the first truly distributed, completely private instant chat app as far as I know. All the others use servers or compromise security and/or privacy in other ways.

Can you maybe explain to me how the web 3.0 is going to work? I would like a detailed explanation not from some kind of whitepaper or something.

A "whitepaper" is the only place you're likely to get a detailed explanation. If you want a brief and/or non-technical explanation, our press releases on the planned Web 3.0 content delivery service and on the "CoinJoin killer" are the information I have at the moment.

So when Mintpal V2 launches will we get another update?

The ways things are going with Mintpal, I wonder whether they'll ever launch. ;-)

I wonder that as well.

Mega tease news still valid for tuesday correct?

Since Mintpal's previous delay didn't alter our plans, I don't see sufficient warrant to do so this time.

Regarding Coinjoin killer, is Coinjoin actually in use anywhere? Is the SharedCoin service for Bitcoin still alive?

Given that CoinJoin is a concept rather than code, it's in use in Darkcoin and in DarkWallet, and Supercoin (I think), among others.

No idea about Sharedcoin...

That is true, but the only funny thing they have going for them is their wacky eyes.

But we want to create a system that attracts investors and not childs so it doesn't have to be funny imo

I agree that there's no necessity for XC to be "funny".

However I really enjoy the effect that this sort of good-natured joking around has. It's great.

Personally I'm fully in support of the official unofficial mascot.
