It is good chance to earn good coins. The procedure of verification is very bad idea and it will frighten many. I won't participate.

This is official information from blockchain.com. They supported the Airdrop system, most likely this was done in order to draw attention to their product.

Stellar seemed to me as a nice project with a good future. But now I saw that ridiculous airdrop with video KYC Grin
For me it discredits the project and from side seems funny.
what is your opinion?
I saw that Steller was distributing the airdrop coins, and it cost $ 25, but I didn’t know that I needed to go through a KYC video. I am sure that few people will want to undergo this procedure.

Such jokes are now not uncommon in the world of cryptocurrencies. Passing KYC is now required very often and will likely be required even more often and in the next couple of years all projects will require to pass KYC from all participants and investors.

I dont see any KYC there. It just asked me an email and instructing to share the URL or tweet or post and thats it. I dont see any other details on Blockchain.com.
Also if there is a Video KYC then its better than giving your personal info.

I think not,I am not only in a single chat channel in a telegram about this saw,but even in the news journal Bitnovosti there too about it wrote that the hand will be $ 125 million, and that the first 5 million members wallet will receive $ 25 ahahahah good lure, but they funny??? $ 25 funny? would have done better smaller purses but for 200-500 bucks on the purse, that is the demand would be,and a lottery who'll win,so I registered to have more than 5 toons purses, and 25 not many would be willing

Is seems legit. I think it's a good chance to earn some free tokens. As for me, I'm holding stellar for long-term. KYC doesn't take a lot of time so I will do it. But when we will recieve these tokens, it's unknown information.

who said that it was fake ? of course it is legit because stellar.org itself announced it on their social media. the problem here is KYC, for some people like you for example.
everything is fine because it does not require a lot of time to do that(you are looking at it from different perspective), but for some people who prioritize their privacy will not look it as something that is easy and good to do.
why ? because your identity can be used for something bad like taking a loan from online sites ? faking their identity and etc.

Well there has to be something better then KYC. KYC goes against the sole purpose of cryptos. I don't know why companies are trying to regulate cryptos just like fiat, where as its true power lies in anonymity.

It's ridiculous, I have to give my identity for $25, lol. Don't know who is participating in the airdrop. Anyway, it should not be accepted by us. In fact, they are looking for a hype, IMO. That can be the only reason.

Due to KYC I did not participate airdrop. They ask passport Smiley I guess XLM investors are not happy with this airdrop. A Dump Army is on the road Smiley

from my perspective, they are trying to reach those non-crypto player to join the boat or at least giving them a knowledge about XLM project from this airdrop.
everything looks fine and ok until this point, but KYC verification will absolutely become their biggest flag.
because it is out of crypto, what is the meaning behind cryptocurrency if we are giving them our identity, it's like we are selling our data and i bet investors will not do such a thing because they are risking their own privacy and at the same time they might risk their own safety.

not only XLM investors, but most of crypto enthusiast will feel it too.

I heard about this airdrop, but did not know that verification would be needed. I think it's stupid to go through a complicated procedure for a small amount of money.

As mentioned above, such an action will not go unnoticed and many people will take part in it, the reward will not really be worth the effort.

This KYC is real joke if few years ago if you created a wallet on blockchain.info (now blockchain.com) and sent BTC into this wallet it was diaspearing, so i think document photos can be stolen and used to borrow money in bank or sth else. I don't trust them.

Now many airdrop and bounty require identification, I believe that most of them just sell data. But here is a solid company and I see nothing wrong with that.

The airdrop seems promising for airdrops hunter who want to hold XLM even that's only worth $25, but in other side i'm also worried if any of them will dumping their coins which may cause the price drops.

Well, $125M airdrop is no joke after all. And that too when the coin is quite popular and trustworthy. People will do anything to get the most of it. So yes, even though video KYC is quite problematic for the users, but in the end it means less fraud. It's also beneficial for the participants of this airdrop as this KYC procedure would mean a bigger share for them. That being said, I am also not comfortable doing this KYC and would not participate in this airdrop!

Are you speaking about the blockchain wallet airdrop? I think they want to distribute 500 million XLM to their users that worth around 125 million USD. If you are speaking about his airdrop, it is true, because they have announced it on their Twitter.
I think this is just a form of promo. Total: $125M.
Each person receiving $25 should have 5 Million who performs KYC via video.
This is hardly possible.

It's not a real airdrop. They are just buying information. A lot of companies do this, for example, N26, Revolut gave free $$ if u signed up and did KYC. In my optinion it's not worth selling your data for $25 worth of XLM.

Learn more about this airdrop by watching video by Altcoin Buzz:
https://coincodex.tv/videos/304/stellar-xlm-to-airdrop-125-million
I also think they are buying information from users, but I care what they want to do with that information, 25$ is pretty much for a KYC info, some other airdrop just pay 3-5$ each KYC account
