i do not think bittrex is competition to poloniex to be honest. polo showed many times that they are the right choice to be the main xmr exchange. also cryptsy just waited too long in my opinion.

Just my humble opinion:

Craptsy has shown a long history of deliberately torpeding all the arbitrage trades one could make there. So my bet is they are quite happy about doing arbitrage trades over there, themselfes.

Shittrex definitely makes one of the trading fee miracles, they are charging higher fees then all other market competitors but seemingly on occasion charge you more then they are officially announcing. You have to look at your portfolio with eagle eyes.
And if any coin has proven to be a real shitcoin, it always happened to be big on volume at Shittrex (hence my personal, private naming of that place)

end of rambling. I'm in a bad mood since the April Foolers over there at BCN just censored my fair warning from their announcement. Some poor soul dropped ~7.8BTC into that 5 Satoshi crapcoin that usually goes for 3sat, or mostly for 2sat. That one will for sure loose one half of investment on "colored anonymous coins" with shiny GUI (release date 4/1/2015)

damn. Well, lets just hope that it was an insider trying to pump.

only btc-e or bitfinex would be able to compete with polo in terms of volume i think.
i would love to see xmr on btc-e, we could all trade with MT4 then.

still, polo is my favourite. good trollbox, good people, the same freaks everyday Cheesy

i agree, more volume on different exchanges would be nice, but also i understand everyone not trading on bittrex, hitbtc or cryptsy.
many of them are just fishy, added to many shitcoins in the past or even both. especially bittrex, they just want to have a free ride now.

HitBTC is extremely dodgy, we've taken them off the Merchant Directory: https://getmonero.org/getting-started/merchants

http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/25mpbf/hitbtcs_volume_is_very_suspicious/
http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/2u29a3/hitbtc_anyone_using_it_request_for_review/

Bittrex, on the other hand, has a reasonable track record. This is NOT to take volume away from Poloniex, it is to encourage traders on Bittrex that are currently not trading XMR to do so.

A bit of wood:

It would make a nice woodwallet (with a 3D printer or a sticker)

Should engrave reasonably well too. Hmm, I might have to try this...

The logo looks incredible there.

From a former cabinet and furniture makers view I would get rid of that pine or spruce wood and go try out walnut, oak, or ash.  Plank is huge compared to logo.  Cut it down a little.  Engraved with the painted logo and lettering the way it is colored now would look good on real wood, just a little bigger on the logo and lettering and smaller on the wood plank. Perhaps some fancy routing around the edges.

This company does great work by the way.  No affiliation.

My .02¢ worth.

Could look nice with it burned onto the wood somehow, sort of branded

Antifragile

I don't think this helps volume much there but wouldn't it be nice to have more volume (across more exchanges)?

Seems real but making an announcement starting April 1 is a little dubious.

Can confirm, it is real, no April Fools. We could've chosen our announcement date better:)

i have a question: if i make many transactions with the same amount and same mixing in a short amount of time, it is still not possible to proof it was me, since we have stealth address, right?

Prove no, but it looks somewhat suspicious. The best privacy is achieved with some timing variation, especially now that the rate of transactions is fairly low. If there were 1000 tx/sec and you sent several in a short time, they probably wouldn't be noticed, but that's not the case now.

If you guys REALLY want a wooden engraving of the XMR logo and "Monero", I could maybe make it happen with the couple of CNC machines I have access to  Cool

Hand carved?

 Grin

Noo... that would be too messy/difficult to replicate  Cheesy
With CNC, I can create 1 design on computer, and produce the same thing 1,000,000 times (computer controlled engraving process).

Haha I know, it was a joke reference to the user WoodCollector that sold expensive items dubiously claimed to be hand carved.

I typically would not go for soft wood while making projects such as these, as you said Wink
As well as using CNC for the Monero symbol and word, I may use acrylics to paint the symbol and letters, then varnish the final product.
