Just a bug in the program from compiling. A guy named Tom compiled it, guessing you're using one of the binaries?
It's nothing to worry about. If it bugs you, restart the daemon and it might make it appear a little less often.
His problem is that it isn't starting:)
ivanlabrie - delete your p2pstate.bin file, I believe on Windows it is in %AppData%/bitmonero

Don't think of it as one of the usual altcoin. There is not necessarily a tangible fact that would explain that easily.
Your question is more like asking some years ago why BTC price was increasing. The answer is... a lot of factors.
I'd sumarize with "increasing awarness of a ground-breaking technology, and increasing trust in its future".

? most probably due to the massive hash rate being unaccounted for in any pool. most probably botnet solo setup or large cpu/gpu farm..... think the pools are finding blocks based on luck atm until things settle down again...

just like your cpu miner, ya pool works tops.... should have switched when i first found it and wouldnt have missed all the mineing time from the attacked pools....
