I think the gift giving is a surefire step for Poland to get its citizens to want to vaccinate, in contrast to some countries which are only limited to urging their citizens to vaccinate, and even in my country now has implemented very strict rules and there are also restrictions on activities for the community to prevent the spread of the virus, and in my country there are still many people who are against the government's recommendation to vaccinate so this causes the government a little difficulty.

It's part of encouraging people to take this steps, being vaccinated gives the government some breathing if they will managed to let more people from jurisdiction to take it.

It will lessen  chances of spreading to more people, preventions is really a good way to battle this virus, with this promotions coming from Pfizer, they'll be able to reach out more people to gain interest to take part,

Taking the shots and you'll also have that chance to changed your lifestyle if you got lucky and win the jackpot.  Roll Eyes
what you say is true, if right now the government needs some special tricks to make its people obey the vaccination call like what was done by poland, but the problem now is that some countries are more inclined to apply harsh rules to their citizens if they don't want to do vaccinate and even now my country applies the requirement to include a certificate of having been vaccinated for the processing of important documents and of course what the Polish government has done cannot possibly be applied in a country that prohibits gambling like in my country.

They are really making some initiative on making their citizens to take a shot even ending up into these means which i dont see to be a bad idea but wont be surely to be effective.
People know on what are the odds on hitting lottery and that alone would be a solid reason on why people would really be ignoring this stuff but there are governments which
do impose strict rule about vaccination on where they do end up on making it mandatory and would really be having some specific consequences for those who
do ignore nor does choose not to take a shot which i absolutely oppose into this kind of idea which does show desperation.Everybody should decide on their own and not being forced to do so.

what i dont like about this Poland lottery is that they are discriminating other covid vaccines, why only pfizer? am ok with this strategy as other countries or states are also doing some kind of lottery already like in washington state, and ohio . the lottery prizes differ from each state to state but they don't mention which vaccine they used. every country or state has their own strategy on how to entice their constituents to get vaccinated but hopefully they won't be picky what type of vaccine they want to include in the lottery.

Yes, compared to those that have taken the shot and felt good, there really were those few that didn't have good results as they take the vaccine. It's still not convincing for those that are waiting for the perfect vaccine to come but as long as there's the availability of the vaccine, anyone who's in that place should take it. Poland got this step and their citizens are in a good situation unless there's another situation that their citizens are dealing with just like those countries that got a lot of anti-vax folks.
One of the factors on why people get sick after taking a shot is totally depending on someones health or body condition. Some of my family members had taken a shot of covid vaccine and thats 3 of them.

One had some chills after a day of the vaccine and the other two havent noticed any effects but we know that side effects doesnt really instantly come out specially if severe ones and lets hope
that there would no such instances that might happen but we have seen that there are really people who died because of some side effects.
Hoping that your family members won't experience that many changes in their body as they've become protected with the vaccine. It is important if most of you guys have always been going outside and have to do things on your own.
For the side effects, I do not think that it's all about the side effects. Or let's say that there's a certain thing that it's all about the reaction of the body upon taking the shot but it's not always the case.

It is sad but this is the way it is, it was impossible to expect that this vaccine was going to be developed for 5 years before it was released to the population, this is why if some people oppose to get the vaccine I do not criticize them as the risks are real, this is why we hear stories of people dropping dead a few minutes after they got the vaccine as the vaccine has a higher risk than usual, but that being said as soon as I get the opportunity to get the vaccine I will get it.

I have not read news of people dropping dead after they got a vaccine do you have an article for this, this is scary if this true, some people react negatively to a particular vaccine but not to the point that they are dropping dead, and if this is true the percentage is very low based on their study, so far the vaccination is a huge success even if the virus is mutating.
This is the first article that I have found about it but there are many cases like that, now if we compare the number of people dying immediately after receiving the vaccine compared to all the people that are now protected and will resist the coronavirus then I still think that it is worth to take the vaccine as the virus has killed millions of people, however it will be unfair to deny that the vaccine can have very adverse effects on some people and that the risks are higher than the ones we face with other vaccines.

Saw this quite late and it boggles my mind to think that in half of the world, people would kill for vaccines. In another half, people are getting paid and incentivized to take it.

I'd be taking pfizer anyway if I could access, not to mention getting a lottery! Antivaxxers I don't get also, they live such privileged lives.
That's the sad reality, people want to get their vaccines while the privileged ones resist because they think they're smarter than the doctors and scientists who developed the vaccines. The reason for the rise of anti-vaxxers is the fact that the critical thinking skills of many people all over the world has gone much lower compared to the last century or so. We have gone too soft and dumb. Get your vaccines and get that lottery ticket compensation if there's one in your city or country.

I find it baffling that there are people who refuse to believe the science of vaccine. I mean, science has already explained in detail the mechanism on how vaccines work, yet lots of people are crafting conspiracy theories about it.

Unfortunately, the only way to convince these close-minded people is to provide merits or compensation for people who are already vaccinated. In this way, even if they do not believe in the science of vaccine, they are at least motivated to get vaccinated in lieu of these rewards.

Months before we heard a news where to increase the chances of people getting vaccinated they government gave them a chance to win prizes, lotteries and even in some countries you are allowed to travel for free. Yet again the Government of Poland announced quite an unusual prize for people who have gotten pifzer. You are eligible to participate in the lottery plus the prizes are up to 260,000$!!!! Which is a great news. But unfortunately only 35% of the people in Poland are vaccinated yet. Not only that read this :
Quote
From 1 July every 500th person to take the dose will receive a cash prize of PLN200, while every 2,000th person will receive PLN500. The Polish Government will be giving away five prizes of PLN50,000 every week for three months, alongside the incentive each month to receive PLN100,000 and a Toyota Corolla for two lucky winners. The final winners will scoop up the PLN1m and a Toyota CH-R each... If you were thinking of moving to Poland, then now’s your chance. And if you need an electric scooter, they’re flogging them too, 720 to be precise.

Now that's a gamble that you gotta try! If you are from Poland then you have to get the shot! I do think this is an interesting gamble for the people there what do you think ? ?

In my City most of people are distancing from pfizer instead all are aiming for Moderna vaccine because of many claims that pfizer has this side effect that harder to tolerate .
But i believe in Europe it is this vaccine that only allows?

But having this opportunity to be part of lottery while saving your own life from virus is just a bonus because what ever happens it is our life will benefits from this.
lately, I see tough competition on the covid vaccine, slander is inevitable...

Even in my country, moderna wins prestige over pfizer. The direction of our future life is really difficult to predict but if my government held a lottery campaign like this then I would be very supportive and definitely join it.

From a mathematical point of view, this is a very clear case for a rational decision making process  Grin

- Evaluate your chances of being seriously affected by covid.
- Evaluate your chances of getting a nasty secondary effect from the jabs (growing a third arm or getting a trombo).
- Evaluate your chances of winning that lottery.
Supporting all of these mentioned because those are the things we must consider when thinking about vaccination.
Quote
If you are young, you might choose not to get the jab. If you are old, you most likely want to go for it. The funny thing is that the chances of winning the lottery only have a minimal effect so this is all marketing.
While younger generation don't really need to take vaccine because they can stand the virus yet young generation nowadays are the risk takers and they will likely want to become a millionaire for free .

Having some lottery chance is a good initiative but wont really be enough to convince people.

On point. At least they are giving a form of perks to those who really want to get vaccinated.

On the other hand, the lottery is also an advantage for those people that don't have a problem having a shot. It's like they are being rewarded for something that they really want.

Let those people who don't want to be vaccinated as it is. The government can't really do something about it and I understand those people. The mandatory vaccine should only be applied to those people who work in essential jobs such as healthcare, food industries, supermarket personnel, etc.

The most common reason why people do not get vaccinated is because they are afraid of the side effects and the fake news that circulates on social media.

As for me, having some sort of perks after getting a shot would be fantastic; yes, those who get vaccinated are rewarded, but it still won't persuade people to get vaccinated, and I believe I saw on our local news that they give some money to senior citizens after they get vaccinated so that others will follow.
They read on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or other local media sources saying about the side effect of being vaccinated.
Before they register to get vaccinated, they must make sure they are healthy and not have any disease because that means you will have a good immune that can protect you from the side effect.
But yes, every vaccine will have different side effects and people who got vaccinated will have a different impact.
The incentive can make them go to hospital and vaccinated, whether they are afraid or not, because that is one program from the government in this pandemic.
Maybe they need to consult with a doctor before vaccinated to convince them that the vaccine is safe for them.

That is a win win situation for Poland citizen. Here in our country people had to wait for their turn fpr free vaccines and no other perks like what they have in Poland. It is a good program to attract their citizen to be vaccinated. Some people are hesitant to take the vaccine since it is uncertain what could be its long term side effect. However, if it will save you from Covid it might be worth to take a shot.

One of the factors on why people get sick after taking a shot is totally depending on someones health or body condition.

I also feel dizzy and got a fever for about a day after I have taken a vaccine shot but as recommended, I just take a Paracetamol. Several weeks have passed now, and I feel much better. I got vaccinated mandatorily because of the nature of my work. It really depends on the person's reaction to the vaccine so we can say there's a possibility that it might become worst for others but good to some.

As a perk, I've now entitled to some discounts and no problem anymore bringing a medical health certificate which is a burden for us who always travel outside the capital. No lottery perks here in my country so these people that have lottery perks are fortunate to have a chance to win decent bucks if they are too lucky enough to be picked.

The lottery incentive won't convince all but at least there's the government that's encouraging everyone to get vaccinated and they all want to see everyone's life turn back to normal.

I also agree with it. Better than nothing.

I'm not blind that the vaccine also has a side effect or worst, resulted in some death as people have different immunity to it. But the numbers were only a few percentages of all the whole people that got vaccinated meaning the efficiency is great despite of it. And new released doses are safer to consume so I trust the vaccines whatever the brand is.

There is no such reward as a lottery here for vaccinated people so those people are lucky that their country is doing that kind of encouragement.

There are actually reports that have been romanticized by the medias that after getting jabs, those people died. But they don't highlight what's the actual reason of it, like those adults that have taken the shot and then afterwards they got the side effect and eventually died.
Most vaccines are still in the trial phase but they've been assured that they're effective to fight against the covid-19 virus. And there's much better result with those countries that got most of their citizens vaccinated and this is what Poland is trying to do.
For sure the media wouldnt really tend to show it up to public in terms of those people who died because of vaccine side effects. Why? this would create panic and would really be

changing up someones mind on getting a shot and of course this would affect business as well because people would already be hesitant on getting vaccinated.

Having some lottery chance is a good initiative but wont really be enough to convince people.

What you say does make sense, because if there are many articles that report the side effects of vaccines can result in death, this will make people
even more refusing to be injected with vaccines. For now, the best chance to prevent the spread of the virus is vaccination. So it is not surprising
that various countries are looking for ways to make their population willing to be injected with vaccines. What the Polish government has done
with lottery offers is a very good move and deserves appreciation. Hopefully other countries follow what the Polish government is doing, because
the lottery has proven to be able to attract many people. Although there are definitely people who are still not interested in being injected with
vaccines for various reasons. At least the state is trying to do something to reassure its citizens and that's a good thing.
