If your wallet is not encrypted you could try the -salvagewallet command.
Do you have any copy of wallet.dat or a backup?

Yes, it really is that easy

You just have to replace the 'old' walletQT .exe with the 'new' one and that's it!

G.W.S. that you should backup the .dat then close the wallet before replacing the .exe but no need to do anything with the AppData files or to re-sync the blockchain if updating from 2.0.1.3 or 2.0.1.4

Is it really that easy with 2.0.1.4? I just click on install and my wallet is updated automatically? I don't have to copy and paste the old .dat file into the new? If it is that simple I'll do that.

I'm a non-techie with Windows 7. I decided to download the whole shebang of the blockchain. Syncing stopped a few times as normal with alts. I closed and opened the wallet to speed up and continue syncing , but messages popped up a saying things like "fatal error" and then disappear a second later - then the wallet continued to sync. Every time I open and close the wallet I keep getting error messages - not all the same though. The messages say things like "st13" - "runtime error" - "replace files" and  disappear almost instantly. Is this likely to continue when the wallet is synced?

Should I abort the sync and start all over again?

(Happened again just now. "Exception. Fatal error. st13 - application will close now", but the wallet kicks back in and continues to sync.)

Your Post scared me so bad , I was looking for the update and I already have it running.

 

Future versions (including latest Gauntlet Wallet) have a notification feature.

"URGENT: Update your Wallet instantly. You have 10 Minutes from now on. Outdated accounts will be deleted."

5mins later everyone is on the client.

The mandatory part was not our choice,
there is a bug in the old wallet code that freezes the network after block # 1051200 .
If we had not updated the zeit network would have frozen in place.
That is why Mintcoin crashed and they only updated theirs after their network had been down for days.
Thanks to the Amazing efforts of Rent_A_Ray , our new wallet is ready 11 days before we hit block #1051200,
if you are on version 2.0.1.3 or 2.0.1.4 , the update is very easy , just download the new wallet and install and you are done. Our Block Explorers & Coinpayments are already updated.

No Worries , the more people that update the better, but we have plans in place no matter what happens.
Anyone who does not update will not gain interest after block #1051200 until they update their wallet.

Both my wallets have been updated with zero probs. I've posted a notifier on our CoinBlab page too.

I had been leaving my wallets offline (to free up as much CPU as possible for mining 'that coin that some don't even want mentioned') but as per request, they will both stay online until at least late next month, to help propagate the new protocol.

I've been somewhat busy over the weekend, I pimped my old Core2Duo up to an i7 870 (hashes 5x faster now ) & am now in the middle of doing a new-build with an AMD FX8350 Octo-Core - I Don't DO xmas!

But there should be about 1.6 LTC heading for Germany courtesy of BlakeTrader.com (in 4 instalments) as a 2nd contribution to that video project over the next hour or so.

But you can lean back, because chains are currently the same. 60006 has a coding bug, thus the chain will stop on 1st of January - that makes the difference.
bee7 found this issue in summer. PV 60007 is not affected and will seamlessly slide to year II.

I updated the wallet and proceeded to resync.  it found a couple old nodes, so I deleted everything in my appdata folder except wallet.dat and added in the posted block chain files and proceeded to resync again.

Does anyone have addnodes that are on the new wallet?  All the ones it's finding are

  honestly i don't know if they are 'honerable', but i will eventually find out i suppose! until then i will honor the benefit of the doubt. my losses with them are 1m+ KARM and 10m+ CCX plus <1/2m ZEIT on hold. now the day i went to tx these other 2 coins to my wallet, it was just maybe a week or so after the karma dev 'went on sabbatacal' (price crash and unstable blockchain) and same for CCX, low interest in the coin, the blockchain unstable. i'd spent abt 2 days prodding the 2 wallets until eventually both were in synch with online bExs. ofcourse when i arrived at allcrypt the wallets were greyed out like zeitcoin is atm. that i was ok with, i could wait ... but now they are just gone. i've asked them if maybe we can work something out, they have not addressed my question, but obviously there'd have to be some life in the chains ...

  so when i saw zeit go grey i had a ticket opened immediately, bitched a little about my losses and concerns, and now you know the rest. as i said, i continue to trade there, fingers crossed.

  however i would not suggest to add them to the OP until ZEIT is at liberty again   (i don't mind sharing responsibility for shaky blockchains, (but they should still have my coins, wallet.dat_s take up little enough space ... oh yeah! i forgot - they admitted to loosing a bunch of CCX on a bad fork or something, but i think that that's not really my problem) and their bruised zeit wallet should be of no concern to me! plenty of zeits out there ...)

 nah - my last talk with support was 10th of nov. when they said they'd found out that their wallet had been corrupted. you may recall that there were some other issues too - thought it might be good to just let it cool for a while. i'm still using the exchange, (despite being invited not to ..), but between minty and allcrypt seems i'v had a pretty good share of bad luck. :shrug: always darkest just before dawn i guess. still hoping for some good news

I think alot of people have zeit stuck at Allcrypt, but they are not checking the forums.
I think those really large wallets in the rich list that have not accessed for 88 days, might belong to Allcrypt.
Did they ever get their wallet working so you could get your zeitcoins?

But you will not be able to remove or add zeitcoins until their zeit wallet is out of maintenance mode.

You need Winrar to unzip the wallet, download winrar at  http://rarlabs.com/download.htm
The Old Zeit-Coin.com is no longer being updated, do not download from that site.
Latest Versions are 2.0.1.5 or 2.0.1.6 Gauntlet ,
To check your version, open the zeit wallet, click on Help, click on About Zeitcoin , and it shows which version you are on.

If your current version is 2.0.1.3 or 2.0.1.4 , all you need to do is download the new software and replace the old one with it.  Open ver 2.0.1.5 or 2.0.16  zeitcoin-qt.exe and you are all set.

If you never updated to 2.0.1.3 , then your blockchain will have to be resynced.
Before beginning be sure you have a current backup of your wallet.dat,
Next go under  C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin\
Delete Database directory, then delete the following files
.lock,  blk001.dat, blk , blkindex.dat, db.log, debug.txt

From Here you have 3 Choices,    
Option 1:  Sync from the Very Beginning ( ~4 days)
Window Users :  Start SyncZeit.bat (Needs to be in the same directory as zeitcoin-qt.exe)

It will automatically restart hourly , once the Zeitcoin wallet is Fully Synced
(There will be a green check Mark in the lower right hand side of the screen) .
Close the Zeit Wallet and close SyncZeit script window.
From then on Start Zeitcoin-qt.exe directly and you are good to go.

If you don't want the automatic method here is the old way.
Option 1: Just start the new zeitcoin-qt.exe and let it sync from scratch , (take ~7 days), if it pauses during the sync, restart it and it will jump over the slow spots. (Optional : Click on Help , click debug , and under information Watch Blockchain Current number of Blocks, if you want to watch it sync the blocks)

Option 2: BootStrap 3-17-2015 (Few hours)
Download the latest bootstrap file from http://www.zeit-coin.net/
Copy the bootstrap.dat file in the folder c:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin (for Windows) or in the Zeitcoin data folder for other OSes. Run the Zeitcoin software to import most of the blockchain locally and then to download only the rest and synchronize the client

Option 3: Fast Way (30 minutes) if you don't want to wait for the Blockchain to sync from the beginning.  
Go to Any of the Following Links to get a latest copy of the Zeitcoin Blockchain.

Make sure Zeitcoin is closed
Then Unpack and copy & replace the files from Zeitcoin-Blockchain into
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Zeitcoin
Then open Zeitcoin and it will start syncing the BlockChain.
    
Once your Wallet is Synced by either option 1 or 2, If your Amount of Zeitcoins is off, click on Help, click on Debug Window, and click Console Tab, type in repairwallet and hit enter.
