If someone have the power to do it. Why not? If Community thinks it's better to have a leader, i have no problem.
Do you think it is funny for us seeing this coin dying? Lion, Beejay, Steve, some others and me engaged while it was dying.
It was not our purpose to do this forever. All we did was helping out - with the idea of an active community. But it was a bad idea.
We spent a lot of work and hours for this project. All we've got was a roundhouse kick from all sides.

You don't understand i am sure  Smiley
Community is waiting for anyone who have good ideas etc.. This coin hasn't any CEO or a Master Dev. Dev has left long time ago.
There is only a domain name (zeit-coin.net is safe in my hands) - the rest is open source, including all GFX etc.

You're probably right that I don't completely understand.  So what you're saying is that we're basically waiting for someone to come and take over?

UseCryptos wants to give us a ZEIT/USD market.
I don't know if this is a good idea for now - (it would be a great idea with a living community)

For this market there are some rules:

Quote
......
I wish to know if you are interested in fiat markets for ZeitCoin.
We can offer you markets for USD and EUR, the deposit method is Payeer, and EgoPay will be added soon.
The only requirement is that you inject 100USD (or 100EUR for EUR market) in those markets, and keep a minimum volume of 300(USD or EUR) per week.

ZeitCoin is at a very low trading rate at our service, and may be delisted at some point if those rates do not increase.

We still host the ZeitCoin block explorer and we're able to open BTC market as well if the coin price rise again.

Looking forward to your answer.
.......

I think the minimum volume could be the problem.

Greets,
Ray

It's great that we are getting offers like this - shows that we are very much still alive - but yes, it's way too early to push for volume.

I've moved my junk over to LazyCoins, by the time that builds up to 'grade A' exchange status we'll maybe be ready for direct to fiat trading.

As for 'purpose', has that ever changed?

We have no way of knowing what happened back in March at TZM conference but as far as I know NOBODY has even attempted top-level contact with them since. THAT is the 'use case' we were designed for so that is the path that future efforts should concentrate on.

Don't we have any 'professional writers' out there who can put an executive proposal to TZM together?

OK, that is likely to mean 'giving up control' of the coin to them but I for one would be more than happy to do so, for the professional marketing & promotion that would bring. I'd like to think they would retain our technical people, at least for the short term.

Thoughts, gentlemen?

I would support giving up control of this coin to anyone who is willing to do something with it.

When you look at the exchanges, the amount of Zeitcoin for sale amounts to only a very miniscule proportion of that being held! Public perception is the key. If interest rates rise as expected, there most likely will be a financial crisis where more quantitative easing will make people look for alternative ways of storing  money. In my opinion, there should be some concerted move to bring Zeitcoin to the fore towards the end of the year when such moves should become more effective.

How would I promote this other than offering someone a high interest rate on a dying coin?

People have questions before they invest such as:

What is this coin for?

what are the plans for the future?

Is it being actively developed or promoted?

What sets it apart from other coins?

If no one has any of these answers then we have a problem.

All of these things are for the community to decide. And that is my point. So many people cut and ran at the first sign of a price drop and has left only a few of us still sticking it out. We can't do it alone though. We need help. We need people with certain connections and talents to help build this coin back up and make it appealing again. Once this is done, and it may take months or longer, then the cryptocoin community can see it for what it is as being a solid, trustworthy coin and not a pump and dump scam.

We are at a point where someone just needs to make these decisions in order to attract some interest and build the community.  Otherwise nothing will ever happen.

The community is what is really dead. There are only a few of us left who haven't tucked tail and ran.

How about this then? How about everyone who is screaming that Zeit is dying and has no hope for a future do something about it other than just complain? Why no promote it? Why not buy some from the exchanges so that other people see activity and regain an interest? Hell, maybe it will pay off in the long run.

Problem is that people were expecting instant profits from day one on this coin, and as soon as they found out it wasn't some pump and dump scam coin they started dumping and drove the value down to 1 satoshi pretty quickly. I completely agree with Ray. The community is what is really dead. There are only a few of us left who haven't tucked tail and ran.

Btw. have a short look at the BTC market @mintpal.
There is no real activity on most of the coins.

Yep - the story really isn't all that different on Poloniex and Bittrex. A few fad coins dominate on any given day - usually 3 - 5. The rest are microvolume dead/dying coins. Altcoin world is just one big desert with a fad-wave that temporarily moves to different parts of the desert at any given time. And at any given time, most of it is barren. As barren as Zeit.

There is no real interest in a non profit coin.

I disagree with this.  There would be lots of interest in a non-profit coin with a direction and a purpose.  There is no interest in an inactive coin that has no purpose.

He meant non profit as of making money buying/selling Zeit on exchanges. I do agree with you, seems like Zeit is an semi inactive coin that has no purpose.

I can't see a real active community here - that's our big problem.
We had some guys here, talking about big plans with ZEIT - rescue plans etc. They did their two posts here, shortly after we hit the LTC market - that's it...

Zeitcoin is a victim of our human nature. There is no real interest in a non profit coin.

There is no real activity on most of the coins.

It is always the same story.

Everybody sing -

"Fud, fud

Glorious fud

Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood......"

http://youtu.be/Vt6xGqk0F0U

Truth is not FUD.  What these people are saying are facts, and is exactly what is happening right now.

You would do much better to offer some constructive reasons to support this coin moving forward rather than just screaming FUD every time someone makes a correct observation about the coin that you don't like.

We also don't have the 4th highest volume on Mintpal for LTC and never have.  We're probably going to get delisted from Mintpal (reality, not FUD), so just continuing to say that this is a long term investment is not helping to attract new investors.

the Zeit wallet is among the best of the best ... Dev done did good.

Mod-ing the community board is the job of the community.

Creating new ideas and projects and visions and goals and communication.

So here is one:

ZIET COIN starts a 'micro' zeitgeist village.

discuses that we can

question 1 : where?

Yes , a lovely wallet where I can watch my investment lose more and more value.Thank goodness I didnt go all in on this one.

Oh no!! The coin that is less than six months old didn't skyrocket in value! Oh no!! All the whales and chronic dumpers are losing interest in the coin! Oh no!! That means that all of us true supporters who are interested in this coin as a long term investment instead of a short term pump and dump can pick up a ton of Zeit for next to nothing and then sit back and let our coins mint like hell!! Oh the humanity!

The flaw in your thinking is that you're not picking it up for next to nothing, and the minting will not make up for the loss you will suffer by holding a coin that nobody wants to buy.

Zeit is heading to 1 Litoshi, there is no interest in it.

25% interest @ 18 LIT won't make up for what will be lost by hanging onto it.

I've just been doing some checking, we actually have the 4th highest LTC volume on MintPal, so there should be at least 6 other coins delisted before we even come close.

DAMN the gloom-and-doom merchants!
