zeitcoin needs to organize a multipool that will mine competitor coins to dump for zeitcoin for after 1 coin rewards come.

just gonna say it now, that setup is the epitome of a ponzie that will lose many people a lot of money...its inevitable. Theres a reason it never worked in the past. Its a desperate move by a coin when they have to implement a system like that.

I want to thank @ZEITCOIN again for donating 100,000 Zeitcoins earlier to my twitter giveaway (@jpmorganpump), making for a total of 150,000 zeitcoins given to a lucky follower earlier this evening.

He also donated 100,000 to a fellow contest runner as well. Big props to the team!

Yeah you're right. Sucks because I have about 600 shares sitting there and I probably won't see them. But hey, it could be worse, right?

Yep, you could be paying $12 a DAY for electric dude. Hence why us bigger hashers don't like mining on potentially broken pools, costs us A LOT and some bad trades or bad decisions on what to mine suddenly puts us against a wall when the electric bill comes (which is where we're at currently a coin we mined for 6 weeks has an AWOL dev at the moment).

But seriously, we are still struggling with that block on morecoins.org, so any help we can get will be great! There are only 7 active pool workers hashing away at it right now. Need some help!!!!

Sorry dude, but you're just gonna have to get off it and the pool's going to have to decide whether to stop Zeit for a while or just let it sit idle for a while until we can get people spread out more.
Please don't just sit there on your own, <10MH/s will not find a block for absolutely AGES and if you do, those of us that jumped in to help will get most of the coins.

I feel bad saying to leave a pool to die, but... there could be an issue.

see my profile
But when I send coins, I get this strange message:
Code:
~/zeitcoin/zeitcoind sendtoaddress MYHsWpJJ34NewErMxtrWT4EaqJTiWkFUHY 50000 starterkit starterkit
error: {"code":-4,"message":"Error: The transaction was rejected.
This might happen if some of the coins in your wallet were already spent,
such as if you used a copy of wallet.dat and coins were spent in the copy
but not marked as spent here."}
Which is not what I did.
Please help me liberate my coins!
They are stuck somewhere, but where?
What can I do?
It sounds like your copy of the blockchain is corrupted.  Try these steps:
- zeitcoind stop
- Backup a copy of your wallet.dat
- Go to your .Zeitcoin folder, and delete everything EXCEPT wallet.dat and Zeitcoin.conf
- start zeitcoind
It will take a long time to re-download the blockchain but that should fix it.  -rescan only checks your copy of the blockchain on disk, and it sounds like yours is wrong for some reason, which is really weird.
Thanks a lot.

I had already tried that, but hey - I am trying it again.

And actually downloaded the sources anew, and compiled again, because I thought perhaps the wallet was updated in between?

Superb results :-)  --->

Code:
Zeitcoin: Warning: error reading wallet.dat!
All keys read correctly, but transaction data
or address book entries might be missing or incorrect.

ooops. WHAT is that?

Fortunately, I had kept the old binary (March 5th) And that one started without problems. Downloading the blockchain now...

Hey Everyone,

Keep an eye out.
Once the devs are finished putting together the block chain explorer I intend to launch a charity-based lottery for Zeitcoin & Dogecoin here (manylottery.com). 5% of each pot will be forwarded to a charity of the communities choosing. The intention of the site is to not only spread the word about Zeitcoin, but cryptocurrencies in general while also supporting organizations in need.

If you have any questions regarding the site please feel free to message me or just keep an eye out for updates.
If you have a list of charities that you would recommend for this project please forward them to me for inclusion on the site for voting.

This is a great community and we've accomplished a lot today. Onwards!!

Can anyone please tell me how to set up my Zeitcoin wallet for POS?  Thanks.

Open your wallet
click help
then click debug window
Click console tab
input the following text
walletpassphrase yourpassword 9999999999999 true
999999999999 is the amount of second you would like your wallet to stay unlocked for

*doesn't always have to be unlocked, just from time to time so that it can update.

Thank you

just saw in the news that 16 banks have been accused of libor fraud! just an idea, but what if we found a way to use zeit to fund actually tackling the banks head on or insuring that they are made responsible for their actions or helping those affected etc! something along those lines! actually taking on the whole point of crypto! could even try rope in other communities and put up a united front.

Great idea, perhaps the PPI issue would be better as it more directly affects average folks. Could try and fund an auditing firm to check up on the refunds. I know they're not refunding a HUGE percentage of people! We don't have the market cap for it at all yet though.

Much better to sponsor someone, instead of giving away coins for dump.

I mean, not just sponsor someone, but making a website for anyone to be able to put their own ideas and ask for sponsorship. We might see some interesting stuff!

you will save on electricity with the gridseed's but when the hashrate keeps going up these will lose value ul at least keep some value with gpu's since they serve other purposes.

cheers! Smiley

I hope everyone is still feeling the excitement of beating out Emo for the chance at MintPal. I can safely say that it is good to know that there won't be page after page of people posting vote reminders!  Cheesy Kidding.

One of the ZM projects that I kind of liked the idea of was the central depository for tools where a membership is charged per month for access to everything that they have instead of having to own an array of tools that you would only use a few times a year.
Maybe something along these lines with a torrent tracker or depository of open source software, royalty free video, music, etc.
User submitted, and charge a minimal amount of zeit per month/year, or even on a donation basis. I agree with Tux that if TZM doesn't come around they will simply be left behind. They don't have a monopoly on the ideas that they promote.
