Yeah, that is insane.

I had all three EMC servers plus two backup pools in my config and at one moment (a couple of days ago) cgminer just stopped because there were no pools alive to work with. All of them were under a heavy DDoS.

Yeah, happened to me, too.  Having no idea what was going on, I just put it down to my ISP being flaky.  I mean, what are the chances of three major pools being down at the same time - must be close to zero, right?

Things are mostly back to normal now.  DDoS is peaking at over 12 Gbps and 3 million PPS, pretty insane.

Make sure you have backup pools setup for US1, US2, US3, EU, etc... and things should fail over properly now.  Still some work to do on the back end here, but it should be mostly stable.

I want to say dial 911 and report a serious crime in progress.  But sadly you'd get arrested for wasting police time.

Why is it that the authorities don't give a damn about DDoS....?

Yes they are counted if they are being accepted.

You haven't answered the question about whether shares are counted during GUI downtime.

I'm working on all of the servers at the moment.  There's a lot of changes going on behind the scenes to hopefully make it more resilient to DDoS as well as provide better performance and reduced latency.  I apologize for this downtime, it's been quite a messy past few days.  There's some light at the end of the tunnel, but it will probably take a few hours more at least before things start returning to normal.

Still not the same as this morning.  This var diff is really a waste of time.

I wish we could specify the diff for our workers...

EDIT: I don't know what happened, but something did after 11 am EST.
I would blame networking, but the exact problem was happening at two different sites plus btcguild was behaving normally.

So it appears something was happening at the EMC.  Maybe an upgrade or a "code fix" followed by a "rollback".
I don't know.

Now it appears to be back to normal...(kinda, dashboard and API report different stats)

Pool seems to be up but nothing reflected in user interface - are shares being counted?

us1 and us3
Failed to connect to stratum on ......
us2 seems to work fine...

Same question for shares count .......

well, now also us2 is down...

us1/us2 are down?  Something is off.

It seems the pool is not accepting shares.  Was there any change (in diff) recently?

Running bfg 3.2.1, bitfuries also report the same issue.  Switching to BTCGuild with 1K and 128 diff works ok.

Anybody sees pool rates fall off the cliff?

Probably just someone pissed off that most of the pools raised their minimum difficulty to 2 to keep the botnets out.  Not government, if they wanted to shut things down, there are much higher value targets than just mining pool servers.  And anyway, they could take out most of the pool servers via forcing Amazon to shut them down - if they really wanted to.

It's not just EMC.  BTCGuild, Eligius, and 50BTC are other pools I know of that have been getting hit very heavily...

I`m not sure why some one would do that. its suspicious that it happened around the time DPR`s story broke in the media. Possible government involvement?

We have been getting DDoS'd for the past few days pretty heavily.  I thought it was over, but apparently not.

I'm working on a solution now, but turning up more hardware and different DC's takes awhile.  Hopefully it should be sorted soon.

Just an idea: someone pay bots operator to DDoS you? cough.... for competition

Looks like I found 261222 with diff: 365.53M (3:33 EST), pool still reports I did not find it.  Not sure how the pool reconciles submitted shares if it cannot determine who submitted the hash that solved the block.

Inaba, what is my numerical user ID?

I am also having problems with the worker charts since the new web site changes.  When I click on a worker name, I get a blank graph.  No points or curve plotted for "Income in BTC" and no points or curve for "Pool Hahsrate".
