We are bees, and we hate you.
If we don't solve about 13-67 blocks by the time I'm back from the lab... I swear, I might have to post again complaining about the luck.  Wink
Seriously though... 14 hours, after 7, after 6, after 11? It's like every time I've been to the casino... Bad Luck.

Thanks for the votes, keep 'em coming!

In an effort to reduce fees that I have to pay, both BTC and USD for payouts, I am implementing a new payout method internally.  Previously, the payouts were handled individually on and ad-hoc basis.  Going forward, I plan on handling the payments through a queuing system that will bundle a number of payments together and send them at once.

I just pushed the code to the live server and it will be active starting with block 169718.  For the next few blocks, I am going to push the queue manually, so the system will say you've been paid out and behave like you've been paid, but your payments will be slightly delayed.  Assuming everything goes well, they should not be delayed more than a few minutes.

Once I'm satisfied the code is stable on the live server, payments will happen as before, but there will be up to a 2 minute delay before you actually receive the funds, this applies to BTC, NMC and PPUSD.  Most of you probably won't even notice a difference, but I wanted to mention it for those of you that might notice payments taking slightly longer than usual to arrive on occasion.  I don't think a maximum of a 2 minute wait is going to cause anyone any problems.

It's entirely possible that for the next block or two payments will not be correct - I will be working to correct them ASAP if something were to go wrong, but the test data I've been running through it has all been just fine, so I don't anticipate any major problems.

That will help a lot, thanks!

I have one more change that I need to put into the code before I freeze it... waiting on a reply from one of the bitcoin developers with regards to it, then I'll drop it in and let it soak for awhile... assuming all goes well, I'll make it live at that point.

I'll get on that port in a little bit.

Thanks for the votes guys!

I've implemented some changes to the backend bitcoind to address some security issues and some other enhancements.

Can some of you please try the development servers at us.eclipsemc.com port 9009?  Set your backup to one of the regular servers, but the server on port 9009 is the beta server, and seems to be working fine for my testing, but I could use some more people to test it before I make the changes live.

Yes, PPUSD is PayPal in USD

The fees are not fees you pay, they are fees others have paid and that added to a block solve reward.

NMC is namecoins.  You can do a search for that if you want.. just an added bonus for most people.

I'm beginner when it comes to mining and have couple of questions:

1. "transaction fees when a block is generated" I don't entirely understand what that means, so If I mine 28bitcoins in one month how much of that is going to fees?

There are additional fees tacked onto some generated blocks to bring the total to more than 50 BTC per block (usually between 50.0001 and 50.003) - those fractions of a BTC are kept by the pool.

2. When choosing paypal as payout what is the value of currency based on, is it Mtgox?

Yes, MtGox last trade or daily average, whichever is less.

3. Lets say the value of bitcoin is 4.7usd, I have mined 10bitcoins and decide to trade them in, so my total cashout would be : 4.7*10*.96= 45.12usd to paypal?

Yes, basically.

4. Ive read in newbie section here on bitcointalk that people have had problems with bitcoin and that paypal freezes accounts, is that true?

Not in the sense you are talking about.  No one (as far as I know) has had their account frozen for receiving money related to bitcoins. In any case, EMC is not paying based on bitcoins, we are paying either PPUSD OR BTC for services rendered.

Looks kinda fake and/or pre-rendered to me.  Seems the placement of the two GPUs would be problematical from a heat perspective as well, but maybe not.
