Ive heard that BCCI played a big part in the reduction of teams. They basically rule the ICC as most of the money is made because of team India generates the highest revenue and lesser the teams the greater chance team India has to reach the finals. India does have a good team but so does a few more teams now like England and Australia. Going to be a good tournament never the less. Excited for it to start.

Back then, BCCI was being controlled by the greedy businessman N Srinivasan. He never cared about cricket and only wanted to make money through hook or crook. He is so greedy that he kicked out his son from his ancestral house without giving him his due share of ancestral property (his son is a homosexual and Srinivasan used it as a justification). And he got good companionship from two equally greedy guys, Giles Clarke of England and Wally Edwards of Australia. A film titled "Death of a Gentleman" was released in 2015 on this subject.

But now things have changed. Fed up with all the corruption in BCCI, the supreme court of India kicked out the businessmen and politicians, and appointed a bunch of former players as CoA to run the BCCI.

Bangladesh is not even a threat. IMO, there are only four teams capable of defeating India in CWC 2019. They are Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa. Bangladesh still has a long way to go.
Don't take it so much easy. Back in 2007, the Indian team was not so weak, Bangladesh was pretty weak than the current team. Can you remember the day?
Don't think that India is better team means Bangladesh can't defeat them. Bangladesh now is no less than a big team, I admit chances are low, but not impossible. Remember.

LOL... that was the reason why the ICC reduced the number of participants from 16 to 10. India lost to Bangladesh, failed to qualify for the quarter-finals, and in the end the TV broadcasters suffered huge losses. But times have changed a lot. Now India is among the top 3 sides, while Bangladesh is miles behind. 2007 seems like a very distant memory.

Well India is the business centre of ICC, no one can ignore it. The biggest market for them is there.

I see there are a lot of talk about Bangladesh. So I stick my nose too :-P
Bangladesh is a very balanced team. They are showing consistence performance (The last series is the prove). May be they are not a team who can win WC but they can be a very good competitor against India, Australia and England who has most chances to win WC.

By the way, anyone watching Afghanistan vs England?

Unexpected results of today's warm-up matches - New Zealand beats India and Australia beats England. I think that in this tournament, England is relying on its batting strength way too much. They're NOT able to restrict the teams within a 200-250 score.

On the other hand, poor batting by Indian batsmen today. Kohli, Dhoni, they all failed. But never forget, these are only the warm-up matches and they don't matter much. Let's see what happens once the real battles begin!

You are right and sometimes it is impossible to gain runs in the warmup matches but who play the warmup match perfectly that doesn't mean they are going to win the world cup. So we should wait for the real game to be started and for India, it is a very tough job to play in England pitches.

There can be any winners.
The poorest of the team in the tournament seems to be Sri Lanka. They are stuggling to perform. Pakistan and India are also not in their great form. Bangladesh would perform better but I don't think they have chances reaching the finals. Afghanistan is the dark horse but can't expect them to reach finals.
Srilanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and West Indies are out of the count. They will not even qualify for the semi final. India is unpredictable for now. I doubt India will qualify for the final, the maximum can be Semi final.

I think after the IPL every players are really tired and over exposed and now finding it difficult to cope up with the climate and pitch situation, New Zealand bowled really well specially Boult and Southee and it is good to see Indian bowler also bowling really well, hopefully they will play better in the world cup, when it comes to Australian match, Smith is back in form at the right time and they really have a good chance to lift the cup this time too.

Not that much have to go. Bangladesh is in well performance and I guess it will be at least a competitve one. Bangladesh played against in last years. In this time, the team has changed a lot and had better performance. Anything cam happen, no one is certain though.

Will not affect much though. India will have a good journey since they have a balanced team with perfect bowling and batting.
Bangladesh is in good form too. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat India because they had a good series recently.

India is not a very balanced team. Look at their batting. In English conditions, apart from Kohli everyone else is going to struggle. And the spinners will struggle, as has happened in the past.

Well. Let's see. Teams from the subcontinent should have arrived in England at least two weeks prior to the tournament and played a few warm up matches during this duration. But the Indians took it very lightly. It will be difficult to adjust to the conditions, after playing in India for two months continuously for the IPL. Anyway, one more warm up match (vs Bangladesh) is remaining, and lets see how they perform.

I hope too. But the way they played yesterday disappointed me. They have one of the best batting line. I hope they will come back in the main stage.

How poor performance from Indian batsman. Pathetic. I thought a minimum of 280 runs. Boult and Nesham done pretty good. Newzealand have lost 2 wickets after 10 overs.
India's world cup warm up is a bit worst. I hope they will turn into WC.

The last time they had a world cup in England was way back in 1999. And back then, a left arm pacer from New Zealand (Geoff Allott) was the top wicket taker during the tournament. And I am seeing a lot of similarities between Trent Boult and Geoff Allott. Even today, Boult got 4 wickets and his swing and seam movement destroyed the Indian innings.

179 all out for India and its star studded batting line up.. Kinda unbelievable looking at a measly 174 in a 50 overs game while they were scoring 180+ most of the time during the IPL. Good news is that its just a warm up game. The results dont matter but could be used as a morale booster. Lets see how the Indian bowling lineup does defending the total. Only positive out of the innings was R.Jadeja and Kuldeep's partnership otherwise the total would have been probably below 140.

Restricting the batting super power to 179 only is big achievement.
The Results do matter for the Newzealand team and it will really boost up their confidence. Wining a warm match is always good before going into the world cup.
