Yep, the team got no other choice as well but to try for that shot, who else is more capable to do that? It's just too bad for Jimmy Butler because he was the one who forced to make that shot and now it's him who can't move on with that because that cost them a fishing trip this summer. The whole roster cannot afford for an overtime because they were so tired already of transitioning, that situation was a do or die and his instincts were telling him to do that shot because it was wide open.
I used a swear word when he took the shot because I was not expecting it. He has the time to wait for his teammates (20 seconds remaining) but I guess all he wants is to win like what he said in the post-game interview. Win or nothing. With just a bit of an arc from that shot, it could've been a good one.
I don't blame him, I actually admired his confidence to do the final shot because we all know it will be a blame game if other players do it and it won't be good for their team's chemistry for next year. He'd rather take all the blame. What could he be thinking right now? The "what if's" of the game, maybe.

~ A great game by Jimmy Butler, but he was one shot away from being a hero at the end when he missed that three.
Until now, I don't know why Butler took a three instead of taking a two and put it into overtime. It's a clear path to him and it's just him and Horford and no defenders in the paint. He wants to be a hero to the team but it didn't went the way he wants to and now it cost them their trip to NBA Finals.
I don't think being the hero was even on his mind when he decided to go for it. He probably wanted to finish it with the three because he knows he's too tired to let the game go to overtime and he is short on support. Unfortunately, he didn't take more time to set his feet before taking that shot. Still mad respect to him though.

Great game 7 between the Celtics and Heat. I was a little worried at the end there but the Celtics came through. A great game by Jimmy Butler, but he was one shot away from being a hero at the end when he missed that three. Still, the Heat had a great season they can be proud of. Now we’re set for the Finals between the Warriors and the Celtics.
Still kudos to Jimmy Butler, as his team won't go this far without his brilliant performance and that made this season something memorable and something that they can be proud of. Now, Celtics are off to the finals which will give them a big break if they can beat the battle tested Warriors. These two teams deserve a good fight, so i just hope that there will be no serious injuries that's going to happen in the finals. But expect that there will be unexpected twists that will surprise everyone.

Still kudos to him even though the last sequence of the game is annoying but still I understand why he drop that decision to shot at 3 point area because if he can able to shot that he's team will win. But we cannot blame that their are fans got dismayed for that because if Jimmy drive and shot that ball maybe he can shot it or get a foul then go to over time. But things are done and this season is not really meant for them so maybe next season they will bounce back.

No doubt that there are fans and gamblers who got dismay with his action. It so happens that he decides to take that big risk shooting

that ball. If he made it, the chance of winning will favor them, but things did not happen according to how he think it might be and the outcome

favor Boston, Butler and the rest of the Heat. If all is healthy next year, we will see them as again a good contender in the east side.

True. A memorable performance from him while most of his teammates are not feeling well at their shooting range. Tucker had a lot of free shots but just cannot put it in. Adebayo also misses shots that he mostly sink in at point blank range. Oladipo had the same bad night. Tyler Herro with just limited minutes to play the game.
It's all Jimmy Butler until the end of the game but not enough to carry the heavy load. I will definitely not forget this moment and he will gain more fans if he keep this up.

Congrats to Boston. I feel bad for Jimmy. He's done all he can. He really needs some help. Heat needs to get rid of Kyle Lowry.Trade Lowry and Herro for Donovan Mitchell. I saw history repeat itself. Marcus Smart became the 1st guard since Gary Payton and the 1st Celtic since Kevin Garnett to reach the finals after winning the DPOY award.
We all feel the same for him but they're not the best by this time and it's the Celtics. Well, Draymond has given his opinion before that it's the Celtics that they'll face in the finals and he's not wrong with that speculation. Congratulations to Tatum for winning the Larry Bird MVP award.

The Celtics have more chance of winning against the Golden State Warriors since they can actually shoot behind the ark well and also Marcus smart is hard to stop when he is healthy. On the other hand, if Klay still playing like a superstar then they will gonna be sweating hard defending him. Either way, this is the best team to compete in the NBA finals and this is the first time we see Boston Celtics step into the NBA finals after 12 years.

^ It looks like Celtics are heading to the NBA Finals with how things are going in the second quarter. Maybe one of the Heat's strategy is conserving their strength for the second half but that doesn't usually work when you're already down by double digits. It also takes double the effort to chase that huge gap. They are not the Warriors that has many many shooters they can rely on.

edit: they managed to bring down the lead to six points. Now that's more we like it. We got ourselves a good game.

What?! Why trade them? They are just hurt, that's why.
Tyler Herro is the 6th Man of the Year, please don't forget that. He had been an effective bench leader for the Miami Heat so I don't think trading him is a good idea.
Kyle Lowry is there for a veteran perspective and a championship experience. He is just injured for a long time that's why his game is not that perfect yet.
And if by choice of a trade I don't think Donovan will suffice for the value of the those two players.

If that's the case then I'll agree with you and you are right that he is short on support.
Herro which is a big help for them offensively is injured and now they are having a hard time having a second scorer that will help Butler offensively.

Respect to him though. This isn't the last time that he played like this. Just remember how he played against the Lakers in the Bubble where he carried the whole team to the point that he can't do it anymore and now he did it again even though he had an injury. Huge respect for Butler and I hope that the Heat will not trade him because he is a big piece to the team. Good game for them.

I think Golden State Warriors would be the champions this season regardless or whether it's the Heat or Celtics they play in the finals. Warriors in 5, would be my prediction.
Right now, I think they are the favorites to win the title this season. I'm a Warrior fan that is why I'll pick the Warriors in 6 games. One road win might change everything Smiley.

I guess we all can keep debating whether or not that was a bad shot attempt from Jimmy Butler, but imo it wasn't a bad shot attempt simply because he had a really clean look. and attacking the paint on a backtracking Al-Horford wouldn't have been an easy too to because we all would agree how great a defender Al Horford is.

I think Golden State Warriors would be the champions this season regardless or whether it's the Heat or Celtics they play in the finals. Warriors in 5, would be my prediction.

You can notice how still consistent in his game besides the last game which he early exit on the game for some reason but he do his best for his role but that's not enough to control the momentum Boston.

Thanks for summarizing his stats but my concern is his effective defense that he gives to Tatum in the early games that makes it hard for the Boston star to get an easy shot unlike the later games where he is free or atleast they need to double team him and free other Boston Celtics attacker like Jalen Brown and Marcus Smart have an open shot that gives the Boston a huge advantage on the last game. PJ Tucker is good on defense which is why Heat become much stronger this season. I understand that he is potentially suffering an injury and just forcing himself to play despite that he can't move properly.

I wonder if he can sleep properly after missing that game-winning/game losing shot. Jimmy Butler indeed have a great season despite many injury concerns before. Too bad that he doesn't have a reliable teammate to support him, especially on defense. PJ Tucker becomes less effective in there game against Boston which what Heat need the most to stop Boston. They don't even have an offensive rebound potential since Bam is already tired on making points which causes the Heat to lack defense in the second half.

I really hate Heat whenever they keep insisting to do a 3point shot despite they don't have a good 3pt FG percentage on the match. There line-up too is so small which easy for Boston to penetrate. Lowry Foul's defense play is just good that's why it saves them many times. Cheesy

It will be hard at first, but he needs to move forward. No one should blame him as he also has that mindset very eager to win.

It's just so happen that the shot didn't go through but the intention is the same. Just luck did not back him up
from that last shot, after this game, I still commend the whole Miami squad.

They bring everything out even if they risk the health conditions of most of their stars from last game 6 till this last game.
Congrats to Boston fans finally Tatum make his way to the NBA finals.

PJ Tucker has a left knee injury reported during game 5 and actually, he is questionable to play in game 6 yet he still plays and contributes to the Heat win. Coach Erik Spoelstra let him only play for 17 minutes tonight for a possible injury issue. Most of the Heat players have an injury but they still playing for this very important match. They do there best to have a good run like this but Boston is better than them this season. I doubt Heat can still continue to give a proper challenge to Warriors in case they beat the Boston on the recent match.

Looks like my early prediction to which teams will play in NBA Finals happened Cheesy. I've always been saying Warriors Vs. Celtics in the NBA Finals and it happened. Now this will be a battle of the best defensive team Vs. best offensive team. Who's your pick with this one? For me, I will go in Warriors in 6 Smiley.

And now Heat is down again with 14 points. There defence and offence become weak after there good run on the 2nd quarter. I already watch this kind of game and I'm pretty sure that Boston will them on tonights match. I doubt too the Miami Heat will give a good fight against GSW with there on and off performance. There 3s are so weak too so I will go for Boston this time.

Heat is crumbling is slowly and they allow there momentum gone on the start of 3rd quarter.

And it's a back and forth battle, when the Heat are coming back to closed the gap, suddenly 4 straight points from Brown and Tatum.

And we have the same issues for the Heat, they let themselves again in a big hole and trying to fix it by playing catch up but it's very difficult against Boston because they are comfortable when they have a good lead at the end of the 3rd and entering the decisive 4th quarter.
