I hope this is not soon-to-be super bad news for the Memphis Grizzlies.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32722751/memphis-grizzlies-ja-morant-exits-apparent-leg-injury-first-quarter
Quote
Morant was hurt while dribbling the ball toward the paint, although there was no contact that appeared to cause the injury. He began to limp, passed the ball and then hobbled off the floor in the middle of the play.
He is the heart of the team and almost every play rotates around him. Losing a superstar like that for so many games will give the Grizzlies a hard time reaching a playoffs spot.
Looking forward to good news after they check him. The score now is 57 Grizzlies - 95 Hawks. and it's just 3rd quarter.

And it's over, 132-100 a high scoring game for the night. Lucky for those who bet on the over in this game.

But it's unfortunate that Ja Morant will be injured again and I would say that if they lose him for the remainder of the season then they might be done. It was reported to be a left knee injury. So let's see how it goes, of course we wish him speedy recovery and hope that he can go and still play this season.

Awful to see him get injured again and by looking at him it seems that his injury prone player now, maybe its time for Grizzlies to find second option when Morant is out of the game since if they rely to much on him and incident like this will keep occuring in future then they might collapse and will not make it to their targets. I do hope for speedy recovery for Morant and want him back in action as early as he can.

It seems like Phoenix Suns have started losing too.  Grin  Last night, they were the away team against Los Angeles Clippers and couldn't prevent a loss by 111-95. Marcus Morris had a big role in Clippers' win here by 24 points and 11 rebounds. And Clippers are having a really nice win streak recently like four games. Even though P. George was absent in the last three games, they still continued to win.

Lossing a game is inevitable, but still you cannot deny the fact that the Phoenix Suns and the GSW are equally good teams currently in the NBA.
However, it's still too early to tell who's going to make it to the playoffs and who's not, because there could be a lot of changes that'll happen for some of the teams once trades happen.
I believe the Lakers have enough pieces  to trade for either Jeramy Grant or Ben Simmons, though they are still rumors but I think the Lakers can't retain and hold on to their current situation.

It's also that Booker has been missing in the line up and that is a big factor on Suns having not enough punch to win a game. They are playing away from him, and even if Paul George didn't play, the homecourt has all the advantage and that's what they did in the first quarter. Suns used to be a good team playing catch up, specially in the 3rd quarter.

But without Booker, it's hard to sustain their run and the Clippers take advantage of it.

Although the Warriors don't have an excellent squad (only Curry for me is a high level player), the GSW is playing very well, the team has chemistry and they are winning most of the games.... Unlike the Lakers, who unfortunately , having one of the best squad in the NBA today, he is still fighting for a playoff spot, with much lower performance than expected (I only did a GSW vs Lakers comparison)

If Klay Thompson returns like he was before and have chemistry with others players, I have no doubt the Warriors could be one of the favorites for this season's NBA title.

For now, we see only Stephen Curry doing the main job which is to help the team get wins by a huge performance. In the absence of Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors have been depending on Curry nearly all the time. This is not very healthy for a team in NBA. Because if your star player gets injured, you will start having enormous problems to deal with. So I hope the rumours turn out to be true and we can see Klay Thompson starting to play officially.

When you have a good leader like Curry, the players will follow and if they follow they will play better at every game.
Chemistry is one of the keys why the Warriors are at the top right now and maybe lets add their Coach and lets give him some credits on how he changed the Warriors since he became the coach of the team. This is why I'm always a Warrior fan. Since the start of the season even though they got new players in Bjelica, Porter, GPII and Rookies Kuminga and Moody, the chemistry has been built already.

Lakers?? They are having a good time right now winning 3 of their last 5 games and they are above 500 right now. Its because LBJ stepped up. He is doing almost the same as he is doing when he played in Cleveland where he always gets the ball, pass to his teammates etc. Maybe the chemistry is starting to build already with how they are playing right now but we don't know. We might see them winning games but we might see them losing consecutive ones in the future.

We've seen football matches getting postponed and some playing behind closed doors again due to the recent outbreak of another variant of Covid-19, but here we are in the NBA and it seems we might be heading towards that as well, we've got the next two matches of Chicago Bulls postponed due to Covid-19 health and safety protocols (10 of the Bulls players are said to be on the list).

This is really a terrible situation. We were in a similar situation in the first times of this coronavirus. But after people started being vaccinated, the situation was getting under control day by day and we are watching the games even with supporters at the court now. But after this "Omicron" variant, things started going back to the old times again. I hope that we leave these days behind in a short time too.

I read a Jokic ejection and I think of shoving another guy but that was not the case against Wizards hehe. What are your thoughts on the tech call? Some comments I'm reading were the refs acting like untouchables. I didn't watch the game and couldn't find a youtube video showing how he complained to the ref so I couldn't tell if it was justified or not.

^^ Maybe if GSW will lose again tonight, we might see Klay next game? No?

Still a lot of time though, but they are down against the Pacers, and only Steph is on the double digits scoring. It's weird to see them behind at the scoring. But we all know that they can explode in the 3rd quarter by 30-40 points. So still this will be entertaining to watch and see if they can bounce back after a tough lost against the Sixers last time.
Well, the Warriors have won against the Pacers with a 2 points difference (102-100) it was a close play the Pacers have lead the points for 2 quarters and then the GSW bounced back to recover the scores until the end of 4th quarter. It's a bit funny because the people are rooting to see another history by Steph, they forgot that they were there to cheer the Pacers  Grin
Klay's return isn't scheduled yet as of this year, but I did read an article that it's only a matter of time before we can see him Play again, maybe as early as 1st quarter of 2022.

Yes, there's no official announcement yet as to when he will return, all we read are just speculation but it's positive speculation as it's back with the good basis that he is really now in good form. They don't have to rush things up, besides, GSW are doing fine and they will surely qualify for the playoffs.
Yeah...I even believe they do it to make GSW fans anxious lol (just kidding)

Anyway... with the official news we're getting, we can deduce that Thompson will be back soon!!

Did I watch the Warriors/Pacers game in Indianapolis or was that in San Francisco? The fans are expecting big time for Curry to reach the record breaking number that they forgot to root for their home team.  Grin
We're still in the regular season and it's not bad to appreciate greatness especially when you will witness live a new record that would probably last for a decade.

The Clippers looking impressive and outscoring the Suns in the first two quarters even if they're playing without PG. Phoenix has a better production from the bench so far though and that could turn the game around in the second half.

A win for Golden State Warriors from a miracle shot by Looney.
2 more three points for Steph and obviously he will be doing it in New York, the Mecca of basketball at Madison Square Garden with a fully packed seat.

They've just made a comeback in the second half causing the Pacers to lose this game. GSW is at a different level and most of the time this team in the NBA can come back when given enough time what more if they were given 24 more minutes. Steph Curry still didn't get the all-time 3pt record this time looks like it will be in their next game, that would be one of the greatest games for his career.

I think Klay Thompson will not play until Dec 25, that's what I heard before.

Good to see Klay doing well know and I think in this month we can see him running on the floor again with GSW but I think they are not rushing things as you said since GSW is now doing a healthy run so maybe there's little bit delay towards his comeback since for sure the management will make sure that Klay will fully recover once he step in the floor again.

If Klay will now be returned, expect fewer minutes to their other teammates that are part of the rotation. Steve Kerr might be planning already this for a long-time as he knows him very well his players. Klay Thompson's adding to the current rotation should not be a problem for them. He might also have limited minutes for a few games as he will adopt first the changes. The comeback of Klay will now put the Golden State Warriors as a much competitive team in the Western Conference. After a failed run after multiple championships, they are now coming back in the competition. It's good to see another strong team leaving us in question, who will reach the Finals this season.

Warriors fans will truly love that. More bandwagons are expected to rise once they reach the Finals if ever.

I don't expect Klay to get a lot of minutes, maybe he will have at least a maximum of 20 minutes restriction per game for the first few games, and eventually he will earn more minute as his conditioned is slowly going back, and also his performance will also be evaluated, if he can drop the same numbers like in the old days, then maybe they'll give him more. In the end, what's more important is that team winning as that's the goal of every team.

And that's too bad. A mix of fast ball movement, quick transitions and post ups makes the game more interesting.

Everyone is now making 3s, that's why we can't see post-ups mainly anymore. Even big ones are doing mostly their points on the perimeter and 3 points. Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Karl Anthony-Towns, etc. are just some of the good examples and there are many more to list.

Who else is doing mostly post-ups and inside plays right now? DeAndre Ayton, Bam Adebayo, Clint Capela, Rudy Gobert etc. I hope we will see again the NBA is dominated by big men like during the time of Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, Ben Wallace, etc.

Edit:
I remove Jokic on the big man doing 3s as I think he's not really fit for the Center position.

Lakers on the news again hehe https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-media/los-angeles-lakers-have-the-slowest-average-running-speed-and-highest-percentage-of-time-walking

Quote
- Average running speed - 4.25 MPH - slowest in NBA

- Percentage of time walking - 68% - highest in NBA

- Miles per game - 9.3 - 2nd fewest

It's not like we didn't see this coming since they traded a lot of their young guys in exchange for veterans but I still expected them to be more explosive. A 68% walking on the court? That is probably what you normally see during exhibition games in your local area but not in the NBA.
But it doesn't mean they are lazy. It could be because of the plays. Most of them are post-up styles with Lebron watching the play circulate until he gets that opportunity for an assist. Then, their other plays are isolation types of play. When Melo holds the ball, he will shoot it no matter how long it takes and while that is happening every player of the Lakers is just waiting, no movement at all.
The same goes for Westbrook, isolation, or one play with a center rolling underneath the rim. That may explain the bad stats on movements.
No I'm not saying they are lazy. It's more like they are forced to slow down the pace of the game since they do not have the legs to play another way. If there's live by the three and die by the three then they probably have this mantra hehe.

Quote
Fast transition plays don't happen much anymore.

Has he even started playing in the D League yet?
Is G league the same with D league? If so, then Thompson played per report.

Klay Thompson going full-speed in G-League practice, hits first 18 shots
He was also reported that he is joining the team practice already, so that is a sign that he is coming back soon but the organization does not give a specific date as they don't want us to expect so much.

Yes, it's the same. Officially, it was now called G League. Literally, he doesn't play for G League but rather just joins a practice together with their counterpart team there, Santa Cruz Warriors on which it turned out as good. I just hope he's not too aggressive on such practice as if you guys remember, he was almost ready for a return after the 2019 injury when he got injured again on a scrimmage last year, November.

No need to rush through as the Warriors are having a good rotation. Still unconfirmed if he will play Klay Thompson may be cleared to practice but return before Christmas seems likely but more likely it will.
