just like unusual show by clippers last season, this season can expect few unusual teams to climb up the scoring ladder. Golden state warriors looks strong with stronger players. Also, recent signing of Tomas Satoransky from the Washington Wizards to Chicago Bulls makes it even stronger as an underrated team. Lets keep our eyes open !
I don't expect bulls to be in the playoffs this coming season, I like more the Atlanta hawks as they have the 2nd runner up rookie of the year which I think he will improve more this coming season.

Trae Young, my man, he should be a candidate for MVP race this coming season?
Am I too unrealistic here? what ya think? Grin

We should consider him completing the whole season. If he can be healthy the whole year then it might be a possibility.
But there is Steph Curry that is eyeing for that crown again.
Durant aint there anymore so the whole offense will be focused on him again. He looks healthy too and he is still young.

There are a lot of candidates now for MVP and there is still James Harden, WB and Gianis.
Let us not forget the Clippers too which now have an offensive power duo.
He must really fight for that 5th place in the voting poll if he wants to take that Season MVP trophy.

No one is stopping you from believing but understand that the second year is usually more difficult for these young bloods. Teams already know what to expect. Trae had a good debut season and he should step it up even more this coming season because defenders are more prepared now and should be easier for them to figure Trae's moves.

Erik Spoelstra may not be the best "basketball" coach in the sense of X's and O's, he might not have the best system or the tactics or even the playbook.

However, what he has is bringing players together, think about Miami in the last 20 years, there have been a lot of teams with a lot of disgruntled superstars and a lot of teams with disgruntled any player but looking at Miami I can only remember a few, Whiteside comes to mind at first but not that many others and to be honest Whiteside just didn't accepted the fact that NBA moved on from his play style and he should focus purely on defense and rebounding just like Gobert.

So, all in all he is a good players coach, he builds great team chemistry and he has done a lot to get out most of the talent out of his players, that is why he gets to keep his job and be paid the big bucks year after year.

No matter how good the coach is, if he don't have the players trust then there would be no chemistry to him and his players. Just like what happened to the Miami when LeBron got angry on Spring and lose his respect for him and leave Miami. I think chistry is not about players but also to players towards their coach.

Yeah man, Kawhi is so humble but we don't know what's deep inside his thoughts even with these fame he had in his NBA career. I think this is the reason why his opponents can't read him during games.

I know.. lol.. his thoughts is always to win and got it, 2 Finals MVP and two championship achieve by this guy, and I'm sure there's more to come.
He and PG will lead the Clippers now and that would not be a problem since Kawhi trust his teammates therefore he is willing to pass the ball, unlike WB.

Kawhi is the true unicorn.  I mean the dude does it all.  All the the while you dont even know he is in the league because he doesnt ruffle anyone's feathers like most of these stars do.  Dude comes on the court and is all business.  Got to respect the man and his game.  Clips were the winners of this years free agency for sure

100 percent sure and adding PG13 makes it sweeter.

Yeah been looking at all Kawhi's highlights and I can say this guy doesnt even need chemistry with other players.
He is a single player who could win the game who doesnt even get mad with his team mates when they make an error.
He is way far from how Lebron controls the team. He doesnt need that or even to be a leader. He just need his A game every night when he steps on the floor.

Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat have agreed to a long-term contract extension.
The only coach who wasn't fired by Lebron if I am not mistaken. Pat has great confidence in the man that's he has supported him despite the poor performance of the team post Wade-Lebron-Bosh era. He is still one of the youngest coaches in the league and he can accomplish more. Kudos to the heat organization for keeping him. I hope he does a Greg Popovich with the heat.

Yep, saw this news like two days ago, and I'm not surprised though, he was well beloved by Miami even after the the big three left many years ago. He already accomplished a lot with the team and it's just rightful that he was offered a long term contract extension. For sure he will be someday in the Miami management as head of basketball operations. Congrats to the coach Eric. Also kudos to Pat Riley as well, he is an old school coach as well and he really knows how to take care of his prodigy here.

Guys, while I'm watching NBA videos in youtube, I found this nice video that really amaze me about Kawhi Leonard.

You can watch - The REAL Reason Why Kawhi Leonard Is SO Good in the NBA Playoffs (Ft. Raptors, Jordan, NBA Finals

Disclaimer : I don't own the video nor I endorse this one. I just find it interesting so I want to share.

Thanks for sharing the video,.. I am also amaze that he was compared with the greatest players in the NBA.
That big hand and long wing span of him makes him a superstar, and that is a gift already before he entered in the NBA, with dedication to his craft, he was able to improve and become the best player in the NBA now, no wonder his team is the heavy favorite now as an NBA championship contender.

And he really deserves every accomplishment and award he's got. I would like to add also that this humble and shy-type of a superstar is playing his every game like a good teammate and player. That is what makes him a world different from other superstars who try to dominate every game like the team is a one-man team and relies on him and him alone for every point and win.

Kawhi is not the kind of man, he looks like he's got no air in his head. Not even sure if he is feeling that superstar feeling that he definitely is right now.

That was funny. Grin

Even though Erik Spoelstra was still young at that time looks like he gained the respect of his team specially Wade. But before when they have Bosh, Lebron and Chalmers they were not in sync.
They even lose to Dallas Mavericks even though they have the best roster.
But still like you said it, Pat might have seen something great about this man.
At times he is being ridiculed by basketball analysts and yet look at how much he gained by now. 4 years contract. Wow.

He has the attitude that its alright if he will sacrifice his stats as long as he can make his team better.
In short, he is a good leader slowly he is climbing to the ladder of best players in the NBA if he is not yet the best for now.

In the ranking based on https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/nba-mvp-betting-odds,, Kawhi is only at rank number 4 with +800.. I think this is justifiable since PG will also score and he was a candidate last season, but its still possible he will become the MVP this season.

As I remember, It was the 2012 NBA finals where they poorly executed from coaching staff down to the players. I dont know what actually happened during that time but Lebron was averaging his lowest in the playoffs I guess.
It was 2011 Finals (Mavs def. Heat).

Wade was still taking the lead but when he was hurt, Lebron could not fill in his shoes at the time. Their newly formed team was exposed by the Mavs whose core team remain largely intact and they have been firing on all cylinders. I also remember what the Mavs coach saying the two teams have different playing style, the Heat playing in the air and the Mavs playing on the ground. The game wan won on the ground.

That was the only championship of Dirk and I love that series though I lose my bet since I bet with the Heat to win in the series.
I can't remember who's the favorites that time as I made my bet offline, with my friends to be specific.

After that, we've seen how the heat has improve and if I not mistaken, they were the champion in the next season and that was because Lebron, Wade, and Bosh make this team a better one, also credit to the role players of the Heat like Udonis Haslem who were so good that time.

He have the skills but lack of talented players unlike when they've acquired the big three which is really competitive the very reason that they've achieved bringing the titles inside Miami. He got the system that meant to compete with other franchise though they're not getting any good spot from the last season but for sure Coach Spoelstra will excel again. Wish him the best for the rest of his career.

It's understandable that the team were not able to be successful in playoffs because they don't have a star unlike in the past they have a big 3.
Now that they have butler and it seems like he is the only star player of the team,  he can showcase his full talent and let's see if that will bring a success to the heat, still a good defensive team but what we observe in the past, they lack talent that will take over in the playoffs competition.
