What happened in Game 1? It looks like Brownlee was limited by TNT's defense. TNT had a blowout win, and it was their defense that secured the victory. While Abarrientos was a significant contributor on offense in the semifinals, he became a liability on defense this time. TNT really exploited his weaknesses, especially with Jason "The Blur" Castro, who made a big impact in the third quarter.

Justin Brownlee admitted that TNT had an outstanding defensive performance, limiting him to just 38 percent shooting from the field and holding the entire team to a mere 9.5 percent from beyond the arc, a significant drop from their average of 39 percent, which makes them the top team in the PBA in that category. This series is all about adjustments, so we can expect JB and the rest of the team to bounce back and take Game 2.

So lucky for those who manage to bet when the line moves especially those who pick the ML as TNT manage to read well if how they'll be able to beat GSMB, though it's just a first game and Gin kings will surely find the right adjustments to bounce back, but for bettors, TNT in the first game is a risky but profitable pick especially for those who loves taking higher odds.

Congrats to whoever Kabayan/s who win this first game, game might be a on TNT's slight favor in terms of odds, let see if how bookies will adjust after that win.

It sounds like TNT Katropa really put on a defensive clinic against Ginebra! It’s always exciting to see how teams adjust between games in a series. Do you think Ginebra will be able to counter TNT’s defense in Game 2, or will TNT continue to dominate?

A bit of trivia: RHJ and JB have faced each other once before, with RHJ coming out on top. This series will be an opportunity for JB to avenge that defeat, or we might witness a repeat of their first encounter.

They need to work breaking that tough defense though knowing GSMB they'll find ways to adjust, might be a surprise as RHJ showing that leadership to balance both offense and their defense as they've got a very decent productions coming from the main cores and their backups, expect to see better ball movements and more aggressive attempts from the Gin kings this upcoming game 2..

Good luck mga kabayan if you'll going to place bets this coming game 2.

TNT +2.5 vs. Ginebra -2.5, with a total at 193.5.

Game 1 starts in less than 2 hours, but the line hasn’t changed at all, which suggests that both teams are getting some good action. As for our local betting scene, we currently have 5 bettors hoping to win until this series wraps up. Good luck to us, and let’s enjoy this PBA Finals series!

Edit : there's a movement as TNT now is +4.5..

Guys, who was able to bet on TNT in the first game? That's a clean win on TNT.
It's just sad I wasn't able to bet on it because 2 days ago, I still can't see the game in my sportsbook.

Well, I will look forward to game 2 of this match. Now TNT already won the first game, I am wondering if the odds will change for Ginebra for game 2, for sure on those who bet on TNT won huge!

Good luck to all of our kababayans that are going to participate and the ones that are already in there. I hope that there will be other non-local members of the forum that will be interested in joining that competition thread.

Hey, come join and support our small local betting! We could really use some more participants to crank up the excitement. No rush, there’s still time to decide since the game kicks off on Sunday. I’ve been keeping an eye on the odds - saw some yesterday, though it wasn’t the main market yet.
Thanks for the invite, I am still thinking though but still good luck to all of you kabayans. Just one more day until we get to the first game of the finals.

From what I’ve noticed, Ginebra only has a slight edge in this series, so I’m guessing it’ll be a tight match...
Looks it's going to be like that. I'm also into Ginebra and it's always been like this feeling just like the last season.

For those waiting on the betting odds, they’re up now:

TNT +2.5 vs. Ginebra -2.5, with a total at 193.5.

I’m curious why the total is set so low, especially since Ginebra can rack up points, like in their game against SMB. If the score stays low, it might lean in TNT's favor. It’s early, though...I’ll wait to see if the line shifts. Got a feeling TNT might take Game 1, just to surprise the bettors.

Yup bookies needs to take their cuts, unlike with P2P whatever the amount you bet on it that's the exact amount that you'll be getting no third party system that will take their percentage hehehe.. And, on that kind of bets even you gave some handicap again that's the actual amount that you'll be getting, still active from my location where gamblers are reaching out to each other and take thier sides, either a game to game bets or a winner take all bets.. Good Luck mga Kabayan!

Yeah, the great thing about P2P betting is that there’s no cut for the bookies. However, the downside is that we’re betting against each other, which sometimes makes me uncomfortable since someone has to lose. But hey, that’s part of the game!

So far, only three people, including myself, have participated in the contest. I hope more people join in because the more, the merrier!

Hahaha, just a friendly gambling showing support with your favorite, not a fan of both teams and comparing their statistics it's really tough to say who's having the advantage, it's more on experienced and good executions since both teams got what they need and really deserves the spot for the finals, comparison wise maybe only fans is the advantage of Gin kings here hahahah..

Good luck to everyone who participate with that contest, not going to add myself as like what I've said tough call for bettors hahaha..

Maybe if someone is interested with that, he can find that in our local then. Or just some friends that he wants to bet with while having fun for the finals. So, we've got few more days left until the first game for this finals is set to happen. I hope that most of the key players from both teams are healthy and are about to play without any troubles for the remaining days.

It's already up at Sports Betting for PBA Finals: Ginebra vs TNT - Best of 7 Series So far, only three users have opted in to join. Just a heads up, I won't be joining for now since my budget's a bit tight. But honestly, I love the competition's rules—no handicap, just pick the winner, and if they win, you get the prize.

As of now, the users who have participated are:

@bisdak40
@Botnake
@Russlenat

And I like this rule.

Yeah old school but here in my area, there are still a lot of bettors that prefer that. And not just that, also in ending, they're doing it still.
While the convenience is with the bookies and I agree with you, we can't just remove the interest of others that are into p2p betting whether online or with just some peers or relatives to do it.

The great thing about the old-school p2p style is you get the best odds. For example, if you bet 1k, you win 1k. But with a sportsbook, your 1k might only get you 1.90 or even less. I think bisdak is talking about a series bet, and that kind of market isn’t usually available in sportsbooks.

Thanks for joining in, everyone! We've got three bettors on board so far. I'll be jumping in too, but I’m waiting until the last day to pick my side. I’m aiming to keep the bets balanced if possible. But of course, the more, the merrier! If we could get at least 10 bettors, that’d be a win in itself.

Thanks for the mention! Yeah, I might be at the bottom of the list now, but I’m joining in just to support the league and enjoy some friendly betting with our friends here on Bitcointalk. I really hope more people find it interesting, especially since the OP made it pretty affordable - just PHP 1500 to register, and it covers the whole best-of-7 series.

And you’re right, the rules work in our favor. No need to send deposits until the series ends, which means fewer fees and shows the trust we have with our "kabayan" here. I think it’s a great setup.

That’s the advantage of P2P betting, you get rid of the juice. But with P2P, you need to find someone you can trust, and even then, it’s wise to limit your bets to what you can afford to lose. You never know if your opponent might just quit the forum or if something else happens (hopefully not).

So far, from what I’ve seen with past P2P betting, also mentioned in this thread, there haven’t been any major issues. In fact, there have been more problems with loan defaults from users than with P2P bets not being paid.
