Cancelling my bet after seeing the article that SMB hasn't won any series when Ginebra's import is Justin Brwonlee.

Great decision! I guess we just have to wait and see if Ginebra and TNT end up facing each other in the finals. Since Ginebra won Game 1, they have a strong chance of advancing. Based on stats, the Game 1 winner has over a 50% chance of winning the series. Looks like Ginebra's in a good position!

SMB is 0-5 in a series when playing against Ginebra with Brownlee as their import, so yeah great decision indeed hehe. I don't think though that this will be a sweep, SMB will win a couple of game just don't know when so betting for this Ginebra-SMB series is kinda difficult but for the sake of betting as we are all gamblers here, i will go for SMB tonight but with the handicap.

I can't believe SMB is struggling this much either. What they showed against Converge might have been a warning that they can't keep up with Ginebra. If SMB wants to turn this around, they have to win in Game 2 or Game 3, because being down 3-0 is pretty much a wrap.
I think long hair wouldnt let them lose and use their power to team up with the refs. Haha, kidding aaide, their really not on par with Ginebra, I dunno this team is full house but their performance still in a dangerous phase when doing some games with other pba teams.

Considering majority of their players are all star and powerhouse, many of them played on Gilas too.

Hahaha that's  the best advantage that they've got though they are playing against their own so maybe they won't go to that line, gin kings as we know them, when JBL played well surely everyone will have that same tempo,  I like those outside shooting 5/5 from the 4points area and 3/6 from the 3points line hahaha,  so easy when watching JBL throwing the ball while SMB's import trying so hard going inside penetrating the defense 😄 😆

I am expecting tomorrow, still 2-0 for both series of the games but I will not touch SMB vs Ginebra  Cheesy

I will only bet on the first game tomorrow which is TNT Tropang Giga vs Rain or Shine with of course -3.5 on TNT Tropang Giga, 1.89 odds is not bad already.
I am expecting a win tomorrow for TNT with a huge gap.

but we're already seeing some of SMB's weaknesses, similar to what they showed against Converge. Their defense isn't holding up well, with Ginebra beating them both outside and inside.

Does JMF need to go beast mode again?
Yeah SMB's weakness is they can maintain their point advance if they up for a lot of points. They let the team regain or close to them which isnt good means their offense are lagginf and defense are not working. If youre up with a lot of points they should maintain it during every quarter to win a game but this will be tough sunce their up with a solid team as well. All weaknesses can improved well let see. JMF must score more against Ginebra.

The tough part is that Brownlee doesn’t even look 100% healthy, but he’s still lighting them up from outside. I think he’s already hit 4 or 5 from the 4-point range, and that alone is hard to accept.

JMF's midrange game is impressive, especially for a big man. He’s really developed that shot, and it’s perfect for when opponents clog the paint. Plus, we can’t forget his three-point shooting, he’s already hit a game-winner before. He’s definitely the guy Ginebra needs to slow down. But the question is, can they? If Greg was still with Ginebra, JMF would’ve had a real matchup that could keep him from dominating.
Yeah, its rarely to see some big guys trying out to shoot beyond the arc. Mostly 3pointers are those point guards and some mid range jumpers. I think Ginebra is a tough one too since their pro star Brownlee is their lethal enemy when it comes to inside and outside shooting. These two making a good tag team during Gilas Pinas fight, but its another story when they are on different uniform.
Even Ginebra's locals are stepping up with Brownlee playing fewer minutes, so SMB needs to figure out how to handle the favored Ginebra if they want to push this series longer. It's still early, but we're already seeing some of SMB's weaknesses, similar to what they showed against Converge. Their defense isn't holding up well, with Ginebra beating them both outside and inside.

Does JMF need to go beast mode again?

By the way, the lines came in early today. TNT is favored by -2.5 against ROS, and in the second game, SMB is the underdog at +4.5.

And it's done the trap is for real hahaha, SMB was been dominated by the Gin kings beating with double digit lead, but those who manage to take the Over, congrats to all kabayan out there who didn't take the ML for SMB but instead took that handicap for Gin kings especially when the odds change up, that handicap for Gin kings was fully covered and the ML that's decent enough for a win.
That massive shift from SMB -1.5 to SMB +5.5 was a clear sign that sharp money moved the line. SMB struggled big time, and they were vocal about missed calls, especially Chris Ross, who got a technical for it. But hey, it's just Game 1, there’s a lot more to come, and I’m sure this will be a long series. Keep an eye on the line movement like that, and my gut says SMB takes Game 2, and the total will still go over.

Same here.. but that point spread is suspicious, SMB started at -1.5, but it closed with Ginebra at -5.5. Feels like the bookies are setting up a trap, pushing the public to bet on Ginebra so they can hand the win to SMB, especially since they struggled against Converge in the QF. I got a gut feeling it's gonna happen, but I'm too nervous to bet on SMB, let's just go with the over and secure the win.

That's something to think before placing your bet, the point spread change it might be influence by the volume of gamblers who take that handicap and now bookies are trying to push it and bring the balance hahaha, though it's just my own take but if you are more comfortable taking the Over then just take it and wait for the outcome.

Good luck mga kabayan, game 1 for both series let see which teams will take the first blood!

If I were to place a bet, I'd go with SMB. I know the line movement is just influenced by the heavy money flowing towards Ginebra. But this is only Game 1, not crucial, so either team could take it, which makes SMB the better value bet. So far, it looks like Brownlee's having some issues, he hasn't returned in the second quarter yet. This is SMB's chance to attack the paint and build a good lead, setting themselves up for momentum in the second half.

As for the total, I have a feeling we’re going to see the over hit. It’s currently at 211.5, and it moved a bit, but that kind of line is definitely hinting "OVER."

Yeah I think JMF should take advantage of this monster stats. As age goes by, some players will definitely go low balls or loses value. Its better while he can make dominance with PBA and even Gilas, run for it. Cause age cant be lowered and in due times it can be use to earn money. I think doing business with your money while still have a career in PBA is an alternative prior to retirement stage.

JMF has recently improved his shooting, and he just keeps getting better despite his age. His dominance is still clear. When JMF is healthy, he’s a huge asset to the team. But Ginebra, man... this team is just tough as long as Brownlee is healthy too.

I agree to that, coach Tim always have his counter, if they can't guard JMF they'll find ways to counter that by letting JBL to take charge, though it's tough since the battle is between two sister company, it might possibly controlled by big bosses, just bet to have that added enjoyment while wathcing the game.

This is possible, boss might try to play us, but since it’s a 50-50 matchup, I’m sure we won’t end up like the SMB vs Converge quarterfinals where many bettors probably fell into the trap. Here, if you believe SMB or Ginebra will win, just bet on them each time, and double up if they lose. We’re likely to end up profitable in this series.

Moving forward, Gin kings against SMB a competition against JMF and JBL the one that performs well will influence the whole squad, that's how important these two stars for both teams.
Now we’re looking at a great matchup! I checked the odds, and SMB is favored by -1.5, which gives Ginebra bettors a solid opportunity to jump on the moneyline early. As for the total, it's set high at 210.5. I thought this would be more of a defensive game, but it seems the bookies expect it to be a high-scoring one.

This is indeed an opportunity for those who want to bet on Ginebra. However, I believe the bookies are basing their odds on Ginebra’s last two games against SMB, where they lost both and were blown out in the most recent one. But this is a series, and those games won’t matter anymore. We should remember that Coach Tim Cone is a brilliant tactician and knows very well how to defend against JMF15.

If you're one of the regulars and someone I trust, feel free to PM me. I'm willing to bet around BTC0.002 on Ginebra to win the series.

If only SMB performs very well on their series against Converge, i would take your offer hehe.

How about betting in pesos mate, would you take it?

Ph2k i'm for the Beermen in this series. Please quote this post if you take this bet. Just a small amount for fun only.

Cancelling my bet after seeing the article that SMB hasn't won any series when Ginebra's import is Justin Brwonlee.

Yup, JBL really got that magic touch leading his team to several titles and we do witness it since he became the main stay import of Gin kings.
