Stats wise SMB always have that big edge against any teams though we can't rely on it as there are unexpected outcomes that the game produces,  most of the time,  we call it manipulation or game fixing,  knowing that there's only two major franchises that really controlling the league,  though that's just opinion or speculation but in terms of capacities SMB have that advantage since JMF is being supported by those gunners who really stepping up, for me personally,  I can only see Gin kings who can match up against this heavyweight squad, they've got the manpower who can compete and a good coach who can boost the chemistries of each players who are playing around.

SMB is still steady, so I don't expect anything like manipulation because this team will continue to dominate. I think there are times before that their opponents are getting favored by the refs but they are just so good as their offense are very unpredictable, coming from inside and outside and refs could not do anything about that. Actually, even if JMF will not play, the SMB still have big men to maintain a good defense in the paint, what SMB have now is the chemistry and their confidence that's why they are moving the ball well.

I agree as they don't need that much productions from JMF and still they continue to make good plays and win games, like what you mentioned even without JMF their big men can still bring good defense, while with their offense they've got a lot of gunners who can produce decent numbers that can lift them to win the game, just now, it's nice to see ball movements that really creates open shots and there's no need to create individual attacks just go with the ball flow and you'll recieve and open shot.

Betting on the games today.

Meralco vs DYIP in the first game, as I see on the bookies, the line was -5.5 for Meralco,.. I think I'm going to bet on them today because they came from a huge victory over the Ginebra, so I'm thinking maybe the momentum will continue.

Their previous game.

DYIP (92) vs Bossing (91)
Bolts (91) vs Ginebra (73)

Current score is in favor for Bossing, those who loves taking a big risk, odds might be change now as Bossing is leading by 5 points early 3rd quarter, enough time for Meralco to rally back and switch things to snatch the game! Good luck kabayan!

SMB is still the team to team, with a healthy JMF, SMB will dominate the paint and most likely they'll win the champion.
However, Ginebra vs SMB seemed to be a good match up, crash that Magnolia as sometimes they are boring to watch due to their offense not really that good especially the outside shooting, and Ginebra has more fans so the finals will be more fun.

Since it's the All-Filipino Conference, expect San Miguel Beermen to be always the team to beat especially with Fajardo on board.

Since that was the always situation in every AFC, I'm sure other top teams like Gin Kings and Magnolia already have a strategy to contain Fajardo as possible as they can be in the paint while also guarding SMB's sharpshooters on the perimeter.

However, we still don't know if SMB can maintain the top spot as who knows a surprising and unexpected thing will happen along the way.

We are just in the early phase of the elimination game anyway and there are still several games left.

While in the second game, it was a entertaining game with these two sister teams, reliving the Manila Classico and for sure fans enjoy that exchanges of attacks and counter defenses, some dramas while playing but Gin kings really performs with the heart, Japeth and Malonzo came out in the last stretch providing offense that's gave them the rally to have a comforting distance and take the game away from Magnolia!

It was an enjoyable game because it ended as a low scoring game. When it's a low scoring game, you know both teams are playing hard, just lucky the Ginebra won that game which I think was also a public favorite, I'd say the public won money on that game as Ginebra being the underdog gives a huge moneyline odds.

That's all you can expect from a team that are focus on defense, good thing Ginebra won, otherwise it will not look good for them since they are the favorite team in the league. Thompson is out and they are winning games, that's a good sign, I would say they have a chance to win a championship this conference.

Now SMB owned the solo spot at top 1 with 3-0 record, followed by NLEX with 4-1 and Northport sits at 3rd with 3-1 record, tied with Ginebra.

It will be a big game today and yes I’m also expecting a big crowd especially it is still holiday.
What’s your prediction with this one?
I expect for SMB to get a win here and on the second game, I think Magnolia has a better chance of winning here. What’s the current odds for these match?

After 12 days of day-off, PBA is back and for sure the crowd attendance will be massive since Ginebra will be playing in the second game against Magnolia. The latter is the slight favorite to win for tonight's match and i do agree with the odds maker here. The first game between the Beermen and Fuelmasters is a bit risky since the spread is high at 9.5.

Ginebra ML @2.32 vs Magnolia
SMB -9.5 @1.87 vs Phoenix

Congrats Kabayan! both pick won, like what you mentioned SMB really deserves that favorite they took over every single quarter and Phoenix don't have anything to rally back, SMB is too much for them looking with their scoring machines CJ as the main one with Cruz and TR7 also doing the damage, Abay almost don't need to force himelf inside.

Congrats mate, great come back with two wins. Me, I lose on Ginebra because I got greedy, I'm following a special that I saw from other posters here, the 11+ points, I got x9 during live bet but it was short by 1 point.

Damn, that shot of Stand was a relief because despite there are only few seconds left, he still made a shot, it's understandable since point quotient is at play here, but it was kinda disrespectful coming from a winning team.. I thought it will end there but Magnolia by Jalalon also made the last shot which only made Ginebra to win by 10, just disappointed.  Grin

You took a big odds, your chance to win is you get too lucky. A one point loss is very frustrating but that's gambling, you lose or you win, all you can do is just accept the outcome... Ginebra was listed as underdog because they got blown out by the Meralco Bolts on their last game, but they have a good come back game and beat a strong Magnolia Hotshots team. It seems like Magnolia is still dominated by the two SMB teams (ginebra and Beerman)...

We saw in that game the old Ginebra, the kind of defense they played was the key for winning. As we can see the game was a low scoring one, it favors on both as they love to play great defense but it was the more experience team that had a victory in the end. If we look at the boxscore of this fight ginebra played more balance offense as all the starters are in double digit.

It's very silent here,.. what's new for the PBA?

The PBA is currently on Holy Week break too that's why the thread is silent. Cheesy

Anyway, the game will resume later, Easter Sunday, with a doubleheader between:

Phoenix FuelMasters vs San Miguel Beermen
Magnolia Hotshots vs Brgy. Ginebra

I'm expecting a big crowd at the Big Dome later on as it's the classic Manila Clasico in the 2nd game.

It will not be quit tomorrow because the game will resume.

We have some great double header tomorrow, [1] SMB vs Phoenix [2] Magnolia vs Ginebra...
That's fun to watch for sure and I think it will be a close game particularly the 2nd game...

Yup, both games are interesting and even in credentials SMB got a good edge against Phoenix but for sure they will give some good competition knowing that they've improve last season, while in the 2nd game Magnolia might have something to entice the fans though against the crowd favorite, that's also something that both fans and bettors will need to assess deeper.

Betting spread for the game.

Phoenix +9 vs San Miguel Beermen and Hotshots -3.5 vs Barangay Ginebra.

If I would cchoose between the two games, I'll choose the last game betting on Ginebra moneyline with 2.14. This a Sunday game, fans will be watching this and I think Ginebra now are very much healthy and well rested after a long break. Hopeful to see Thompson to play as Ginebra needs his energy to ignite their defense especially against a strong defensive team.

About the Sakuragi, I can't blame him if he gets tempted with Kim Rodriguez, I mean she's hot... but anyway it was just a rumor, and we don't want to see a family man, known to be loyal would destroy his family.

Rumors and it's been circling around I guess if ever that kind of thing really exist it will just die naturally knowing Sakuragi and the clan he belongs after this huge attentions it will be forgotten as Sakuragi's family will not go down to this level and allow this rumor to penetrate and ruined their lives.

If given a chance better to choose that route, they know by fact that the managements are not aiming to win a title or even become a competitive squad, having another offer like that may be the best option to continue with their passions.
Unfortunately we only have one league in the Philippines that pays well, so their best opportunity is to improve and have a chance to play overseas. It's just sad that it seems like PBA has now becoming a training ground only and good that bastketball leagues in Asia are getting Filipino imports, Japan and Korea is very consistent on this.

Converge is not gonna win a title I guess, it's too early for this team to become a trash team as it's not even 5 years yet before they were acquired from Alaska and now they are already showing their true colors.
That's very sad, and unfortunately if there's a player that will likely get a contract overseas, it should be coming from a great team, not a farm team. Top players in a farm team are likely already being acquired to a strong team, they are just making sure that a certain player/s would develop his skills before getting sign or traded in giant teams like SMB and TNT.  There was a rumor that Justin Arana will be acquired by Ginebra, that's a success for him, but bad for the team and the players that will be left.

That's the real destination, unless the player got exemptional talent that they've develop overtime, they can pick to play overseas but before that, they will be in the monitoring sight by these two big franchise who control the league, before they can get the offer abroad they might be traded either with SMC or MVP group of company where we all know that each players who are in these two giant competing companies got a better compensations and very decent security from their contracts.

They might choose to stay and play with the PBA if either MVP or SMC will offer them a contract, no need to go out of the country just continue playing great and have all the luxuries that you deserves.

That was not the case for Bollick, he never played with SMB or TNT. He was able to play abroad but decided to come back since his wife was pregnant an now playing like an import with the NLEX. Also, there was Matthew Wright that was playing with Fuel Masters but now playing in Japan, and Ravena as well.  So its not necessary for them to play with the giant teams before they will catch the attention of the overseas leagues because if they have talent, they'll be invited to play.
