The NLEX vs Ginebra game is more interesting compared to Converge vs SMB. If BGR plays a very good game, it could be a close match because Ginebra was not so dominant in their previous game. Also, in their last meeting, the game was very close, with Ginebra winning by only 3 points in a score of 111-114.
NLEX will be more eager to bounce back here and have a win against Ginebra, both teams will prepare for their next games and its hard to tell who will win on this. Though I think with this series, Ginebra still have a good advantage here as they are more composed team and they really know each other for a long time now. Good plays and better pass will help Ginebra to achieve a better result, maybe a big lead win for Ginebra tomorrow.

Chemistry and trust from one another, the advantage that Gin kings will show up here, I see your point in terms of play executions but yes, NLEX will do everything to win as well, they will prepare just the same with how Gin kings will do, but along the way only one team will win and experienced wise, Gin kings have a better advantage here.

Might need to bring everything, not just with the new import, but they needed to work together if they wanted to win against the heavy favorite SMB. I'm always vocal with my pick here and I also believing that whatever the spread the chance of covering is possible with SMB, even they don't have Fajardo but the import's performance covers his numbers.

It will be the locals that will compete to win and how they will finish the game against one another.
Speaking of locals, the local players of Converge are also good players, and can help their import in terms of offense.

They have players like Ahamnisi, Teng, and Stockton to lead the offense for the locals, and at the same time they have Arana, Pascual and Tratter to defend the paint. The FiberXers' local players are also good ones as well and will be a good help with their new import. Well, Converge are the heavy underdogs in this series match-up because why not? They are facing the SMB who we know how star-studded their team are even without Fajardo.

Like you, I also believe that the spread that the sportsbook will put might be covered by the SMB whatever number it is (spread).

Let see if how SMB will seal the win here. I would love to see TR7 to play and give some minutes to add up with their offensive threats.

How about the second game - NLEX vs Ginebra? This is a best-of-three series, so it's going to be a good one. As of now, Ginebra is -6.5 to win. I think they will win, as Ginebra is destined for the Finals, but the question is, can they cover the spread? I guess I'll just wait and be patient. I'll take it live when Ginebra is down, maybe I can get a spread of -3.5 or even lower.

That's a good strategy as Ginebra is a slow starter team, I mean they usually step on the gas in the second half, especially in the third quarter but this is a quarterfinals game so I think coach Tim Cone will really push his guys to be aggressive all throughout the game and they might blow NLEX early.

Ginebra -6.5 @1.80 vs NLEX

I will take no chances as Ginebra might blow out their opponent tomorrow because they are coming from a lose.

That's a good point, my friend. A team that usually comes from a big loss will play harder in the next game. Just like what TNT and SMB did when they came back from a disappointing loss in the EASL tournament, they had a blowout win.

However, it's also a good idea to wait for the moneyline live since this is a best-of-3 series. Who knows, the referees might make it an interesting series.

Also, NLEX came from a huge loss against SMB.

SMB vs Converge then all I can say is that SMB will be the winner and go to the SF(semi-finals) because we all know a strong team with a twice to beat advantage has a very predictable. While for the NLEX vs BRGY Ginebra will be a close matchup even though BRGY is the defending champion but as we can see the stats of NLEX they played well they prove to us that there's a chance they will ge the SF. Or even In Finals.

There's no question about Jamal Franklin's individual talent, however, the management could not tolerate his attitude anymore as he was not a team player. You know, Converge loves to run and move the ball, which did not happen when Franklin was on the floor. Although they understand it will be hard for them to win with the new import, it is what it is. They were just unfortunate with their old import
Well, as an update from the FiberXers, the new import is about to come and I think the adjustment will be fairly average on them. Vodanovich is a no-brainer and a good player based on his stats and origin. He was once drafted into the NBA and this only proves Franklin that talent can be forgotten when the toxicity is at its finest despite him very good individual player. Well, even me, I'll choose a better player that has a good mentality and attitude rather than someone who's really good but has a bad attitude. That's just going to give a domino effect to the other players in the roster. It's said that the play style of Vodanovich is a team player so, let's see.
With this development from Converge, I don't trust them to win a single game against SMB. So, I'll be betting against them regardless of the spread. I'm sure SMB will take the game seriously, as they don't want to be in a do-or-die situation. Anyway, good luck to both teams on their game tomorrow. Hopefully, Converge will not be dominated too much, so we can see an exciting game.

Converge winning the first game might be the biggest upset that they can do IMO, but to win against SMB? I also doubt if they can.
Maybe if Jamal were still their import, there would be a chance they could win. But with a new import, I don't know. They will have to start building chemistry again and make big adjustments, and against SMB, that won't work.

In fact, I don't think Converge's import is of better quality than SMB's import, so even without JMF, I doubt Converge can win a game. The best they can do, in my opinion, is to win the first half, but it will be SMB who takes over after that.

We will see the outcome tomorrow as they play the first game. SMB has the twice-to-beat advantage, so let's see what will happen. As for the betting spread, I see that Converge is +8.5. Any takers on those odds? Remember that SMB is still playing without JMF, so this spread could be too much for them.

And that might be Converge's import first and last game lol. Since they in a twice-to-beat disadvantage, they are already in the do-or-die status.

I really feel bad for what to happened to Converge this conference after having a good run in the early phase of the eliminations.

Better luck next time though as reality speaking, it's hard to beat SMB twice in a row especially since SMB's Cameron Clark is capable of doing monster stats to cover Fajardo's absence. CJ Perez on the other hand keeps improving and consistently showing good performance. Terence Romeo too is now in the adjusting phase and once unleashes his usual form, that would make SMB more dangerous.
Kind of funny that Converge's new import might play only 1 game in the PBA because they might lose to a star-studded team like SMB.
On the other hand, this might be an opportunity for that import to showcase his talent outside his country. Who knows. If he will play very well and will be very efficient on this game despite losing, he might be given a chance to play again as an import on the next PBA conference where there is an import.

Like you, I feel bad as well with regards to the sequence of events that happened to them. Lose to Ginebra by a huge margin mainly because Franklin was a crybaby, then the FiberXers had a hard time finding a replacement import despite having more than a week of finding it, and now they are facing a team that is very dominating even though they don't have JMF. Better luck next time for them I guess. They played really well in their first games, but they lost steam on their remaining games, ended up the elimination round with a losing streak.

Just my own cent,  Wink and who knows if they can pull and upset to a heavy favorite (which I doubt they can  Roll Eyes  )

SMB peeps are used to playing pressure games unlike the newbie Converge that don't have any experience yet feeling the pressure in a close playoff match.

What is also worst, they replaced import at the point of this stage where they are already on the brink of being eliminated. If only they allow keeping their previous import with an ego problem, they might have a chance to upset the SMB. Their import-related problem can be worked out with the right serious talk and that might settle the internal problem of the team.

I wonder what the odds of this game. For sure, Converge will be the underdog and I'm guessing their odds would be around @6 to win the game.

2-7 match-up between SMB and Converge
- SMB will win on this one. Converge got a replacement import already in Tom Vodanovich, but the chemistry is the big problem with them, and they will face SMB, but without Fajardo. Their import doesn't have that impressive stats with his stint with New Zealand team, so it's a question mark on how he will fit the team.

I was hoping for them to reached the semis but against my old-time favorite SMB the winning chance to proceed to the semis is very slim for them, they've got a good run but seems that they still young team that needed to have more experienced in the league, or maybe they need to add someone who can guide them a veteran star who can show them the right path Grin

Just my own cent,  Wink and who knows if they can pull and upset to a heavy favorite (which I doubt they can  Roll Eyes  )

4-5 match-up between Meralco and Magnolia
- TBH, it's hard to pick which team will win on this one because even though Meralco won on this one, they only won by a I think 2 points only IIRC. This will be a good match, but I want to see Meralco winning on this so I'll choose the Bolts.

This is the only 50-50 match in the quarter-finals for me. Magnolia doesn't have the old reliable big as Sangalang is still out but that would be filled by their import so that makes this encounter competitive.

All the rest is predictable, i mean the favorites will win like you pointed out and when the semis came that's when things got exciting as Fajardo is out and it seems that the PBA governor's crown is open to everybody hehe.

Fearless prediction, TNT vs Ginebra in this PBA governor's cup 2023 finals.

We can't avoid that to happen, TNT vs Ginebra for me is only the game that will excite the fan, don't get me wrong but if these two super teams will meet in the finals the winning chance of both sides for me is 50/50, good or fair enough for viewers and fans to cheer with the team that they are supporting.

I would like to see both teams finishing the finals with a game 7 do-or-die final game. Roll Eyes Wink

I will make my own prediction. I like this match-up and I am confident that my favorite teams will advance.

TNT 1-0
Magnolia 2-1
SMB 1-0
Ginebra 2-1

The top 4 teams are in twice to beat advantage, right? So that's my prediction.
Magnolia vs Meralco is the only series I think will be an interesting game.
They have the twice to beat advantage and I like your prediction here its more like a realistic one. The Magnolia and Meralco showdown is the most anticipated match here since they had a great run during the elimination round and for sure this will be a neck and neck battle. Magnolia might be more eager to win here, so let’s just see since we are now going to the exciting part of the competition.
