Crazy game between Batang Pier and Tropang Giga! In the 1st quarter, Batang Pier controlled the game, but the 2nd quarter saw the opposite happen as Tropang Giga dominated with 47 points, while their opponent scored only 16 points.

I think we already know how this game will go. I don't believe Tropang Giga will allow their opponent to make a comeback. They might relax a bit in the 3rd quarter, but their lead is already substantial enough to give them a significant chance of winning.

In the next game, SMB is 1.27 and -8.5 spread.
I think I will take my chances on NLEX as they have been playing very well lately. If Fajardo is still unavailable, then it should be a nice matchup.

Same here because Fajardo won't be around playing for the Beermen for at least six weeks as the injury he sustained in the ESL cup was worse than expected. Don't know what's the basis of this 3.70 ML odds for NLEX but for me, this is very attractive since NLEX's import played better than the import of SMB, and for sure things won't be the same for SMB without Fajardo helping the import.

Speaking of Fajardo, he will be out for at least 6 weeks base on this article.
https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/smb-big-man-june-mar-fajardo-diagnosed-with-mcl-injury-a793-20230314?ref=feed_1_section
Quote
The San Miguel therapist hopes everything will be fine for the big man in six weeks' time, meaning Fajardo could return in action if ever the Beermen advanced to the finals.

I already quote that juiciest part of the article, and the most hurtful one as well for us SMB fans. His injury that he got in the EASL affected him and his playing time here in the PBA. Kind of unfortunate that he is just coming back from his injury that he got 2-3 years ago I think, and yet here he is again with another injury.

As for the bet, I think risking on the NLEX winning might be a good choice still because SMB has no Fajardo. That alone might be an advantage for the Road Warriors, but on the other hand, I don't still want to underestimate the SMB because they still have Tautuaa and Clark that can play for Center position.

Anyway, I'll just add that the Converge FiberXers can't find a replace import still after they removed Franklin on the team. They also said that Franklin isn't practicing with them anymore. With only a few days remaining, I wonder how will the FiberXers compete especially now that they have a twice to beat disadvantage.

Have you guys watched Anfernee Simons make a 4-point shot during the All-Star weekend?
WATCH: Apple David's underhand four-point shot decides Shooting Stars

I remembered my favorite anime basketball star when I saw the shot. Who else is a fan of Hanamichi Sakuragi here? He shot free throws like that every time.

She got lucky with that shot, but it will not happen again," LOL. That was one of the highlights in the PBA All-Star game, but we are back to reality now. In fact, we have two games tomorrow that everyone will surely be excited to watch and bet on.

The first game is between Northport and TNT, and the second game is NLEX versus SMB Beerman.

I think tomorrow's games will be entertaining as these match-ups involve all offensive teams, so we will surely see some highlights.
I just check on the sportsbook I'm using but there's no betting odds yet.

No betting odds yet for these two upcoming games, maybe later tonight or tomorrow morning the odds will be available before the game starts, I'm going to be based here if chances to parlay both SMB and TNT with spare money tomorrow I'll be on that route, I think both teams will try to continue winning games to make a good assurance that they will be having secure spot and a possible easy opponent in the next round.

Maybe check again, it's already available now.

Tropang Giga is the favorite with 1.30 odds and -7.5 spread. In the next game, SMB is 1.27 and -8.5 spread.
I think I will take my chances on NLEX as they have been playing very well lately. If Fajardo is still unavailable, then it should be a nice matchup.

P.S. I just saw a Facebook post with regards to this rumor, and Sangalang himself debunked it saying that it was all fake newsCheesy Cheesy
You can look at the Facebook Page named "We Are PBA Updates". They posted it there. Well, I guess this is the end of that rumor?

That's great news. At least he confirmed that he will not be retiring. Sanggalang is still young, and I'm sure that as long as he works hard to get back in shape, he will still be the same player who contributed a lot to his team. Another big man who I haven't seen playing anymore is Mac Belo. He used to be a great player, but it seems like his career in the PBA didn't work out well. What happened to this guy?
Mac Belo??
I guess he's out of the league already.

The last team that I know he played was in the Blackwater and before that, he's on the Meralco Bolts. He's one of the promising players in the league in his prime, but when he's on the Bolts, he didn't have much playing time for most of his stint there. One reason is that, his position and the import's position is the same, so the coach gives more time to the import obviously thus, he's been benched and he will only play in the final minutes of the game. Second is injury. I think he's injury prone in his prime though he's a great player.

Unfortunately, there isn't any news regarding him on which team he is currently, or he retired, or he is playing with other basketball leagues whatsoever. I remember him being a scorer back when he's still in the Blackwater.

Yup too early for Ian to retire his jersey, still have enough time to make a good comeback after what happened, with the technology nowadays it's not impossible to quickly regain your skills if you have that full determination, I like this guy so humble with a good food works and don't need to make it hard but just a simple one, just like how Tim Duncan play the game.

Looking forward to see him recover back, no need to rush but just to continue his journey. He's still young and still capable of playing ball.

When he is healthy, you can really tell how effective he is as a big man because he is left-handed. Maybe it's hard to defend a lefty guy in basketball. The rumors are too harsh. They don't realize that Sanggalang's job is very important, and retiring early would mean losing his passion. He might be haunted by this decision for failing his career.
More on the traffic side or readers/viewers side that matter for people who created that rumors, but in the side of Ian like what you mentioned it will be a hard decision in a case that it will visit his mind and think about that early retirement, he's too young though for sure he got the money now and he can survive his lifestyle but the passion to play will always be there for him.

Worth to mentioned, if my memory serve it right, Adducul did this because of his health. If that's also the same crucial decision making in part of Ian, maybe he can take it..

Just saying..

Speaking of injury, i have read reports/rumors that Ian Sangalang might retire from the PBA due to health issues. Anyone knows here what's the real situation of Sangalang as i have not seen him playing for some time now.

As far as I know, only a whole season, about a year or so. Maybe the health issue now becomes a big deal.

Unfortunately, things happened but damn, Sangalang is one the best big man in the league.

He's reportedly showing a loss in his weight and maybe it's now becoming serious to the point that he will retire.
It's an undisclosed injury or illness, so we can't speculate that much in terms of his career in the PBA, but one thing's for sure. He will not play this Governor's Cup anymore.

I can't find any articles saying that he will retire because of his illness, but I agree with what you said that he's been one of the most prominent big in the PBA especially his presence in the paint can be felt by their opponents because of how good he is.

Anyway, a rumor is still a rumor until there is no official announcement yet so maybe let's just pray him to recover, and come back to the league. I don't know who will replace him in the Hotshots because we know that Reavis is only a few years away from retiring.

Congrats to all who manage to put some bets for the winning team!

Was there a betting odds for this particular game? I haven't checked the sportsbook lately, but the last time I checked, there were no odds available. I assumed that they are not offering any odds since it's just an exhibition game. Can anyone here confirm if they were able to place a bet?

My bad, as I also didn't check if there's a betting odds for this I was assuming since the game was really exciting and entertaining there might be some betting bookies that may offer but if there's none then I don't have anything to say but congrats to the winning team (team Japet) and lets wait for the upcoming games in the regular season.

For sure betting odd will be available and we will be able to start sorting and selecting the teams that we will going to support.

We will be back to the normal games this coming Wednesday. These guys can enjoy the rest of the night, especially the winning team, as they have a prize to spend for the victory party. LOL...

Now back to the real business. The games this Wednesday will be between:

Northport vs TNT
NLEX vs SMB

Both TNT and SMB are aiming for good position while NP and NLEX will try to upset them to also have decent chance next round, interesting games as we all know that the season is nearing to playoff, all teams aside from those who we already showing a white flag is no longer in a competitive form.

But for those four teams, they are all still aiming to push their ways to the playoffs. For sure we will see some action. Here, maybe a possible upset can take place.

Team Japeth won the All-Star Game and received a cash prize of Php150,000, while the MVP, Paul Lee, received Php30,000. Paul Lee had a great performance, showcasing his accurate 3-point shooting during the match. One difference between this game and the normal PBA league games is that they have a 4-point shot.

This may have been the reason why Team Scottie lost, as they were trying to hit the 4-point shot instead of focusing on a comeback, despite having plenty of time left in the game.

It was also a nice initiative by the organizers to make the game more entertaining to watch. I'm sure they did not want to be criticized like what had happened to the NBA All-Star Game.

That 4 point shot is a cheat sheet for Paul Lee. It seems to me that is a normal range for him. How many of those 4 point shots did he make?

The game is quite exciting compared to the All Star game of NBA. In NBA, the teams just let the other team scores. But the PBA All Star game, there is actually an effort to guard the other teams. You can see steals and blocks in this game. This makes the game better. You can really see that both teams want to win and that converts to competitiveness in the game. This game could actually salvage the reputation of the all-star game being stale.

Well, the All-Star game just concluded minutes ago and Team Japeth won by just 4 points with a score or 140-136. I didn't watch the whole game, but looking the players defending their opponents is a sign that this All-Star is probably better than that of the NBA All-Star where they are just letting their opponents shot. Congrats Team Japeth.

Paul Lee had a great All-Star appearance! After winning the 3-point shooting contest, he also won the All-Star MVP award, scoring 32 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Paul Lee is like fine wine - as he ages, he gets better - so I'm hoping that this trend will continue in the current PBA conference.
What a season for Paul Lee, such a great player who continues to grow over time. The PBA All-Star game didn't disappoint at all as we witness their real talents and a close scoring game though we've seen a great run from team Scottie, they just failed to take advantage the 4 point shot which they aimed for. Good to see players in all-star taking that game seriously, hoping that we can have more All-Star game before the year end for a new season.
