DYIP almost had this win, and it was an entertaining game, but in the end, Ginebra made sure they would not let DYIP upset them. The performances of Brownlee, Thompson, and Malonzo were impressive in the last few seconds of the game.

Brownlee made a 3-point shot, Malonzo dunked the ball, and although Thompson missed the follow-up shot, he got the offensive rebound, giving Ginebra the ball position.

Congratulations to the winners, as the handicap for DYIP was easily covered.

Enough about Franklin. Let's discuss today's games. In the first game, we have Blackwater versus Magnolia, and in the second game, Ginebra will play DYIP. It may not be an exciting lineup, but we have no other options since there is no other action scheduled for today.

So far, it's a close game, and it seems to be the same for the Magnolia vs. DYIP game. Maybe we will see another overtime, and Blackwater will threaten to defeat Magnolia. Hehe, it's also a low-scoring game so far. After scoring 32 points in the 1st quarter, Magnolia only scored 16 in the 2nd quarter.

I'm betting on there being over 58 points scored in the 3rd quarter. I have a feeling it will be a high-scoring quarter.

Not exciting indeed, half-time with only 3 points for Magnolia, but I'm in the different perspective here. Magnolia might rally in the third and will be establish double digit lead to make sure that they will have the control of the game. Unlike what happened last time where they needed to force for an OT to snatch the game.

Over 58 points for the third period is possible, if both teams will start being aggressive and start bringing more offensive attacks, that might be covered.

Good Luck Kabayan!

Congratulations Kabaya, the total score was 60 points, so you won your bet! Magnolia dominated the 3rd quarter, bouncing back after a bad 2nd quarter performance. In the second game, DYIP is playing a non-bearing game so it's not necessary to compete at a high level since they are already eliminated.

I'm watching the game live through a Facebook stream, hoping to find an opportunity to make some money.

I guess I like DYIP to win in the first half.

Even though Lakay is not the same as before but still he can guide those young guys to improve their performance on the court. But I doubt also that he can really help knowing the current situation and politics in PBA we cannot say that those action they do can really help the team could win a championship. Because most of the team go to finals recently are part of MVP or SMB group.

Converge is an independent team, but if the refs are favoring the more popular team, then I guess Converge will still lose. Besides, it's easy to justify because this team is led by young guys like Maverick Ahanmisi and Jeron Teng. So how about the import of Converge? Are they still continuing to use the services of Franklin?

We don't have any update yet, but if he if he continue what he did against Gin kings the chance of replacing him is possible, Converge need someone who are matured and professional enough to understand his responsibilities, if he can't take what the coach wanted him then he's just nothing but a player which is not capable to adjust for the betterment of their team efforts.

Players need to listen to how the coach wanted them to play the game. If they are not willing to work it out, then better to quit and ask for the replacement.

No player should remain on a team if they cannot follow the game plan. What Franklin did was unacceptable as he only had a few shots, despite not even being double-teamed. I don't understand what he was feeling at the time; it looked like there was a gun in front of him ready to go off if he attempted a shot.

Do we have some source where they're getting their replacement or aspiring player that shall be on board for a team? I am sure that it will be the first and foremost concern of the management to find someone who values professionalism and attitude.

None yet. It was just likely to happen for now but maybe I will give it 85% of happening since knowing Converge Head Coach Aldin Ayo, he is really strict with his players even how good they are. Remember the last conference when he benched their dominating import Quincy Miller for arriving late at the team's practice due to a birthday party? Even though that game is important, he didn't hesitate to bench their import.

Hopefully, their chosen import will be able to adjust with the team, or maybe Converge will just consider playing with an All-Filipino cast in the Quarterfinals.
He's really strict and he gives importance to the professionalism of everyone else. He's not condoning any type of disrespect to the team by doing such.

Hopefully, their chosen import will be able to adjust with the team, or maybe Converge will just consider playing with an All-Filipino cast in the Quarterfinals.

But budget-wise, a waste of money indeed if the supposed new import will just play one game as Converge will be in the do-or-die status in the quarterfinals and that might be against a top team, either Ginebra or San Miguel Beermen right away.
With the given lesser time, there's a need for that import to adjust quickly because they need to have more wins through the remaining matches that they have. This is the kind of coach that many teams and management would like to have.

Looking forward to good adjustment if they decided to keep the import and let him play to chase for a win.

Seems likely he will be replaced but a damn thing to consider doing it in the middle of the upcoming quarterfinals.

However, if the import will keep his ego, then no reason now to move forward with the team. Taking that coach's advice personally to the point that he will change his gameplay in the actual game is something unprofessional and regardless if the import is good or not, they need to let it go.

Converge is the only independent team that I'm hoping to move forward with this conference but it seems like the last conference, they are again considered a team that can be called an "intro boys" due to some issues and dramas.

Hahaha, more on good start but unable to continue to move forward, always lack of consistency to push their way up to be on the finals, just so happen that they still unable to bring the best out from each other, there are times that I'm thinking that they just need a veteran stars to guide them and start the spark but I really don't expect that they will bring Danny I back hahaha,

I mean a veteran star who can bring good addition to the team in terms of both defense and offense, not an old time legend who can't do nothing now in terms of physical presence inside the court. No offense to Lakay, but Converge should consider someone who can be a good threat to their campaign.

Just came across this article stating that Converge is letting Jamal Franklin go. They will still pay the remainder of his contract, but they are moving forward to the playoffs without Jamal Franklin. I do not know who will replace him, but it is too near the playoffs, and they may not have the chemistry needed to win a series. Below is the link to the article.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/pba-ballclub-converge-to-release-import-jamaal-franklin-a2244-20230306

So, this means that he intentionally underperforms in their last game against Ginebra in response to the coach's instructions to share the ball. Very unprofessional response to a valid instruction from the coach.
So I just thought that Franklin was doing that thing for the sake of his teammates, but it seems like I was wrong... or he was lying when he got interviewed.

TBH, I'm surprised that they will change import more than one week before the playoff starts. I wonder who will be the replacement import of the Converge, and how this will affect the chemistry of the whole team. It's just unprofessional that your coach said to make some adjustments thru share the ball, and you act like a baby, and took it personally. What a childish behavior he has. Very, very unprofessional of him. He's one of the elite scorers of the league this season, but he has this childish behavior, and he doesn't like to follow instructions from his coach. What a shame.

But budget-wise, a waste of money indeed if the supposed new import will just play one game as Converge will be in the do-or-die status in the quarterfinals and that might be against a top team, either Ginebra or San Miguel Beermen right away.
Let's at least be optimistic with Converge even though they are changing their import. I mean they are performing well at the start of the season, but they just suffered 3 straight losses in their 3 final games, but the team's still good overall. Just don't expect too much with the team, and let's see how they will perform with their new import.

Hopefully, they find a good replacement for him. They are still in for the playoffs, so a good import is really needed for them to move to the next round. Hopefully, they will find someone that has no attitude problem and will follow the instruction of the coach.
Do we have some source where they're getting their replacement or aspiring player that shall be on board for a team? I am sure that it will be the first and foremost concern of the management to find someone who values professionalism and attitude.

It will be a quick fix for them and if they've proven that he did it intentionally then he can just walk away with the pay that he's got.
I'm really eyeing for the Converge FiberXers to have some momentum and get to the finals and then you know, get the ring.

They are good but I do not think they can get past stronger teams like TNT or San Miguel, especially, now that they have a problem with import. They are a young team, so they have a lot to learn yet. Maybe when they mature more, they will be able to challenge stronger teams in the finals.
Yeah, that's a huge factor but who knows? The standings aren't that far from each other but I guess, I'm just too optimistic about this team. Although they are not the only team that I'm counting on because it's just too exhausting that the majority has got their favorite teams and they're all the same time and time again.

The dude gotta be forgetting how to remain professional if it was intentional. Anyway, Coach Aldin knows what's best for the team and he won't take those with attitude for sure.

Same with you, I'm still hoping that another team outside MVP and SMC will win a title in this league, so far, the closes that I can say is Converge hopefully coach Aldin will resolve this issue with their import and they will find the best way to adjust with the situation, the locals are competitive they just need some lift with the reinforcement to add up.

The chance is still possible, they just need to move forward and keep adjusting to how they will manage to continue being competitive,

looking forward to hear their name as one of the champion, the way the former franchise owner did, speaking about the "Aces"
Actually, there are two on my mind, Rain or Shine and then Converge. While there were rumors about other teams being up for sale, I hope that they'll be having a good succession if ever those rumors tend to be true. They're like 4 teams that might be on sale and will change management.
We're too done watching SMC and MVP teams reaching the finals and just as coach Tab Baldwin said, having 1 import per team is already obsolete. We've seen how EASL teams kicked out SMB and Ginebra. That's why there should really be the adoption of new processes and rules in PBA from offshore leagues like EASL, B League, KBL, and others.
