They should prioritize these 2 things next,

1. avoid being down by that huge lead
2. don't feel pressured at the end especially when there are lots of ways to win that game

The Philippines did the right thing, but they fell short. I believe the defense was there, but if you watched the game, you would see that Jordan couldn't miss their 3-point shots in the first quarter. That's the reason why they were ahead by double digits. I would say it was a lucky game for Jordan since they don't shoot like that all the time. The Philippines did the right thing to come back but fell short, and that's it.

I can agree to that, it was a very appreciated performance from the PH Nationals, they did try to win it for the country but luck didn't go on their side, all the hustle and all those good defense plus the aggressiveness to rally back all are being witness both from the fans in live venue and those who pay for subscriptions to watch it.

Nothing to say but to thank them with the efforts and even it's a non-bearing game, they manage to show that they are also one of the team to beat in this International league.

I recognized the effort they have given but defeat like that shouldn't always have a response that it's just fine because they gave their best, gave their heart, gave their determination and so what. That effort is not recognized in the international competition if in the end, they will lose.

They should prioritize these 2 things next,

1. avoid being down by that huge lead
2. don't feel pressured at the end especially when there are lots of ways to win that game

But on the actual world stage, that "dinadaga" shouldn't take place in a game like that. Even how good and talented the player is, once that feeling of being pressured especially in a crucial moment will take place, will affect their overall gameplay. I remember Paul Lee's moment before he needs to drain 3 free throws or else, the PH team will lose. That kind of situation is even more pressure compare to what happened last night.

Kudos to all though. Scottie Thompson also plays a role in why the Gilas were able to bounce back in that game after being down as much as 25 points. There are also lots of opportunities that Gilas wasted in that game in the dying minutes, not just Thompson's free throw.

Brownlee's 41 points is a big statement that he's really worth being chosen as the team's naturalized player.

Scottie Thompson might have trouble getting into a good sleep after that missed shot that supposedly give Gilas a lead and even a win. But for those viewers who were saying that might be the reason for the win, they might be wrong at some point. Technically, even though Thompson was able to get that free throw, there's still time for Jordan to come back and we don't know if Gilas will still win.

Non-bearing game but still a good game for Gilas. Fans at the Philippine Arena witness an exciting game that they expect. Money is worth it.

After all, it's a non-bearing game, but I'm very happy that both teams just fought like they are fighting for the final spot in the FIBA World Cup.

Gilas Pilipinas' only lead was at the 2-0 start, and didn't ever got the lead until the end of the game. They are down to as many as 25 points, but our Gilas Pilipinas team lead by Justin "Noypi" just carried the team, and gave Jordan a better fight. He scored 41 points.

Nothing to blame even with Thompson's missed free throws and not even Ray Parks' last shot. Maybe the intensity around the arena has affected them as well especially Thompson who didn't experience that kind of thing in the FIBA. Well, I'm pretty sure that every audience is happy with what they saw, and both teams gave them a good match-up so kudos to our team, Jordan and even Lebanon as well.
Still Kudos even if the team has lost. It's hard to cope up with the lead and that's no joke for them. They've managed to close it up to just 1 lead for Jordan.
They did well and done their part and showed that they're not joking just as what many were trying to say through their mockery. Well respect for all of them that's part of the Gilas Pilipinas team.
Probably Jordan are more eager to win here to stay in the competition while Gilas is already in for the World Cup. A 1 point loss is always the hardest especially when you had the chance to tie the game but still failed to do so. Well, still kudos to Gilas for playing all out here and they still manage to chase the big lead. The team is doing great now and let’s hope that they will play better in the coming FIBA World cup.
Both teams are eager to win but they're just the better ones today. I know how it feels when a game with 1-point leads for most players. We're all for the heart of the game and this is for the world cup. It's disappointing and we as fans truly are but how much more for the players that are there and tried hard. The feeling sucks for them and they're almost there but it's not that just enough to take that 2 points to win the game.

I hope he won't blame himself too hard. I know he might have trouble sleeping because he is a perfectionist, which is why he became an MVP. But it was a mistake, and Thompson is not really a good free throw shooter, so I guess he has to accept the mistake. Overall, it was fun, and I was cheering for the game. I'm happy they were able to come back, but they were not lucky enough.

Malonzo is one of the major reasons, and I don't understand why coach Chot didn't give him more minutes. He is a good defender, can rebound, and can also shoot outside. Maybe there were some lapses on the coaching side.

That's also my observation, Malonzo is a two-way player who can contribute in both ends, not sure why coach Chot decided to gamble with Parks instead of him, but overall performances I salute the efforts that the whole squad was done today, moving forward, PH nationals needs to learn with that loss and try to adjust and find the system to execute especially during the crucial moment.

5 missed attempts that might bring the win for them, but that's fate and nothing to regret, just to move forward and try harder.

The Philippines are down early, as much as 20 points. Hopefully, they can come back and cover the spread. The 3-point shooting of Jordan is the main reason why they had a huge lead early, but I'm sure they cannot keep that up throughout the game. Let's hope the Philippines can make another big comeback. Good luck!

Jordan starting to missed those three point bombs here in the third quarter but they are still in the lead by double digits, 12 points to be exact, just hope that they will trim this down to at least eight points after the end of the third quarter.

I'm betting for the Gilas to score over 90.5 points @1.90 here.

They are down only six points now, and I think Gilas has a chance to win here, but I'm not sure if they will be able to cover the spread. We witnessed a huge third quarter run, so let's see if they can continue it in the fourth quarter. Jordan needs to attack the paint because they are missing their outside shots already.

Damn, Scottie Thompson buckled on the pressure free throws. Cost me my bet and the chance to win the game or at least send the game into overtime. I'm sure Scottie can't sleep tonight thinking of what just have happened but it was just part of the game, just like Racela missed those very important free throws against Korea in the Asian games but can't blame them hehe.

What a game! I thought the Philippines would win because they had the momentum, but they missed the last crucial plays. Anyway, those who took the Philippines at +10 when they were down huge should win the bet. And if I remember correctly, the ML was 5.00, which is almost a win too.

Brownlee should have taken the last shot. The 3-point shooting of the locals was very inconsistent, or maybe he could have driven the ball and drawn a foul. But I guess Brownlee was also very tired because he had carried the team heavily.

Jordan manage to escape even with those crucial calls where we can say that favor the Gilas, that last 2 ft of Thompson might give the national the win but he missed both, the last attempt from Parks was also a close one just not a good look after the turnaround. Gilas gave everything it's just so happen that the opponent is not willing to give up and even they are missing shots they are not giving an easy basket.

Congrats to whoever takes that over 168. That's an easy take, well covered by both squads.

Almost there, you only needed one point to win that bet, but it's just unfortunate that Scottie Thompson missed both free throws. It was a good effort on his part to get that offensive rebound and draw a foul, but he missed the most crucial free throws. We had the opportunity to win, but the last shot by Ray Parks Jr. also didn't go in.

Still, a big congratulations to the Philippines for coming back from a huge deficit. It just fell short, though.

They are playing small ball now, and I believe that's the best strategy to come back in the game. As of now, they are only down by 12 points. Hopefully, their run will continue so they will only be down by a single digit in the fourth quarter. Give the ball to Brownlee, and he will work for the win. When Brownlee is hot, no one should stop him.

Who put their bets on either Phoenix or Meralco tonight? Share it here. Tongue

Not me, hahaha! I'm a fan of heavy favorite and usually if I place my bet I'm placing it with handicap. I didn't see that coming knowing that Converge is doing some good run, they are still on the good position but they needed the win to secure the next round spot, I'm not sure but Phoenix really did do everything to take this win away from Converge.

A very close game which probably put gave a huge profit for those who believe and take that big risk for Phoenix.
Well, Converge has already secured their playoff spot with their 6 wins, but even so, they must win on their next 2 games if they want to have a higher spot or at best, have the twice to beat advantage coming into the playoffs.

On the other hand, the final 2 games of FiberXers isn't that easy. They will face the Bolts first who are hungry to get wins because they are now at the solo 6th spot, and after that, they will face the Ginebra on their final game. Those 2 teams aren't that easy to beat the both of them are hungry to win as well for a better playoff spot. I don't believe there are some who put their bet on Phoenix before the game unless they are a fan of it.

We don't have any PBA game right now, but what we have is a game between Philippines and Jordan for the FIBA World Qualifiers.
Although this is a non-bearing game for both teams, it would be better if both teams will just give it all, and give the audiences entertainment. Here are the odds if you want to bet:

I think with how the Philippines played against Jordan, I have a feeling that it will be a high scoring ballgame thus, they might easily cover that total points.
