Converge got a good run during the third quarter but Meralco's 4th quarter tight defense bring them back in the game and push it to OT, nothing to say about these two teams both are really playing well and both are eager to win, just so happen that Meralco got lucky and snatch the game in overtime.

Congrats to all those who picked them before the game started. They are the underdog, easy double for your money.


My take with his game time, Converge is checking and testing his stamina but I go with you, giving him decent play time then we will see the veteran skills out from the 2-time MVP, not expecting him to lift the team but his presence will help the youngster to continue trying to enhance more from their individual roles and apply everything to blend good chemistries.

Probably playing with a different purpose and role now, but its really good to see a legend playing again in the PBA.
The games was very intense and a close one, Meralco was able to survive the game despite of the run of Converge in the last quarter. This is a crucial game for Converge, unfortunately they are not able to control the game and have a win. Looking for more playing time with Danny, maybe he can still play better.

Can't expect an explosive game for Danny I since he's not at his prime anymore. Maybe his assignment is to guide their young roosters as he is also a coach in the team. We see him sit back on the bench on crucial game since the coach make sure to get fast phase of the game so that means he is not for crucial games but rather for garbage time only. Maybe he cannot expect huge as a player but for his experience can be a guide to make this team a competitive one.

Meralco survived against Converge in a close game. They were ahead in the first half, but Converge came back with a huge 3rd quarter run. Meralco had a good 4th quarter, bringing the game into overtime. Meralco was just lucky during overtime, as Franklin fouled out. If he hadn't, then Converge might have won. Additionally, we saw some action when Ebonia and Maliksi clashed, with Maliksi charged with a Flagrant Foul Penalty 2.

Overall, the game was very entertaining. It seems like one overtime wasn't even enough for these two teams.

Danny I is now playing, and although I have not seen much action from him, it's still too early to tell. Meralco has a good lead early, but I think Converge will come back and try to make it a close game. I haven't seen much of a 3-point shooting game, as both teams are playing with great defense, and this game is very important for both.

We have Meralco vs Converge in the first game. Based on the betting odds, they are almost even, so I expect this to be a great game, probably one that will go into overtime as I have not witnessed a game like that in a while. I like the ball movement of Converge, but if they rely too much on their import, I believe they will lose in the end if it's a close game.

I'm worried about how Converge will stop McDaniels since they don't have a big guy like C. Stand, but let's see.

I am from Philippines but I didn’t know that there’s such a thread about PBA. I am a basketball fan (I do play). PBA is the first professional basketball league in Asia and was founded in 1975. It currently consists of 12 teams and plays two conferences per year: the Philippine Cup and the Governor's Cup. Each conference typically lasts for 2-3 months, with a short break in between.

There’s also an alternative league in the country. The MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) a Philippine professional basketball league that began in 2017. It includes both professional and amateur players from across the country, with the goal of promoting basketball in the Philippines. The league has 31 teams and plays its regular season games on a home-and-away basis. It has a large following and aids in the development of basketball in smaller cities and provinces.

But I still prefer PBA since I like watching and betting on them.

He isn't playing because he wants to make a difference. It's either the management wants his veteran experience to be shared with his teammates, or he feels like he can still play, but I'm leaning more with his veteran experience. You said already that he was unstoppable on his prime, and his experience as well will help those young players of Converge. TBH, I'm not even watching PBA games when him and Danny Seigle are playing and dominating on SMB so for me as a PBA fan, it's good to see old player like him playing again.

I also put 2 bets earlier than usual because I have to do something that will make me busy, and I can't watch it.

On the first game, I put a bet on Converge winning this game. A must win for both teams especially the Bolts. On the other hand, I don't know and you can correct me, but if Converge will win on this one, they will remain at the 5th seed because they lost to NLEX which is currently at the 4th spot and because of that, they can't still have a twice to beat advantage because right now, the top 4 teams have a twice to beat advantage as to normal which is only the top 2. Correct me on this one for those experts out there.

On the second game, I don't see the odds of Ginebra attractive anymore, that's why I put a -7.5 spread bet on them. I believe that they will cover this one against the Phoenix. On the other hand, it looks like Phoenix has a high chance to secure that 8th and final spot since the team below them which is NorthPort currently only has 2 wins.

Danny I was unstoppable during his heyday, but I do not think he can still make a difference right now. He is just too old to be competitive in PBA but maybe he thinks there is still something that he can contribute to the team. That is yet to see once he is on the court.

Taking an early bet on the game today. I will not be able to watch this game so I hope my bet hits.

Taking the underdog Meralco against Converge. Even though they lost against Ginebra last Wednesday, I like how they performed. And if they can do that against Converge, maybe they can win.

I was able to reach that time of Mighty Swift but barely remember him honestly but yeah, after looking after for some information from a die-hard fan of his, I was able to know a few things about him. Too young to go, 50 is still young on these days but we can't limit and decide when we'll go by.

Yeah, even retirees or currently playing. When we hear such news, it's always heartbreaking.

I guess that the time will give him that much time to still show what he can do. And knowing that it's coach Aldin Ayo is on his side, he's one of the best coaches out there.

I thought that this will be a low scoring one that's why I put under 224.5 on this one, but as I watch the game, I think that it will be a high scoring ball game that's why I made another bet and this one, it's above 246.5 and my bet is just enough to get my loss on that first bet plus some profits as well. It really is a high scoring ball game as the total points is 267. I mean it's rare to see teams in PBA scoring that high. Most of the scores are ranging from around 90-110 points on average.

Anyway with this game, NLEX just tied the PBA record for most number of threes in a single game with 23. On the other hand, this is Trollano's night as he scored 44 points (his new career high in points) and has 9 threes as well. Their import also scored 38 points on this game.

The second game is also a high scoring game, and my bet bet before it starts is over 209.5. They covered it easily. What's good about the Hotshots is that, their offense is distributed because 6 players are in double digits, and they are above 15 points as well. Their import Hester is very efficient as well, scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and shot 12/17 on the field. On the other hand, Murphy and Bollick tried to carry their team scoring 31 and 30 points respectively, but there wasn't enough help from other locals though they made a good run in the 3rd quarter.

This could be a good addition to Converge but of course we should not expect that much, even if he is still physically fit I'm pretty sure the other players will not go easy to him and will be more active. Let's welcome him back to the PBA as a player, for whatever reason, I hope Converge did a right decision here instead of getting a younger player that can help boost their bid into the next round. I'm also not sure about how Danny played the game before, but the media is getting hyped out of this and many consider Danny as one of the best player because of his back-to-back MVP title. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and let's see how he can help the team to get more wins.

Danny I before JFM is the face of SMB, him and Danny Seigle was a dominant tandem way back on their primes, Though for sure he can't no longer play the way it was before, but his leadership and his guidance to the young rising stars of converge will be a big factor, lets see if what he will contribute to his team.

That's the news for today in the PBA. I'm happy that he is able to play, and now he is the oldest active player in the PBA, surpassing Hugnatan and Reavis in the list. I haven't seen him play during his prime days, so now I have a chance to witness how great he is. However, I wouldn't expect too much from him since he is not young anymore.

Congrats mate, that was a big win for you there. There was not much defense on that game thus it resulted in a high-scoring ballgame, they even scored 70 points in the fourth quarter when that was supposed to be the quarter where players are already tired and will just play half-court offense.

Also won on that game by betting on the DYIP +21.5, lucky for me those two attempts in the dying seconds went in hehe.

Yup, this second game should be a low scoring one as Magnolia is a defense oriented team, it is now under 208.5 but i would wait until the end of the first half before putting my under bet.

Breaking news, Danny Ildefonso will be back playing for Converge this Governor's Cup, what are your thoughts on this guys?

That was a huge win! I must say you were so lucky with that bet. The second half really helped you in achieving that total. The game looked like a three-point shooting competition, as the defense was not tight, especially for the DYIP.

My prediction for the next game is that it will be a low-scoring one. Therefore, I am going for the under and the point ranges for higher odds

The NLEX vs DYIP game seemed to be a high-scoring one. The first quarter was quite close, but in the 2nd quarter, NLEX dominated over DYIP. With a score of 49-66, NLEX is in control, so I guess they will easily cover the spread here. The +/- now is 20.5, so if you go with NLEX, you will get better odds, but they will only cover that if they continue their dominance in the second half.

I'm also surprised by this news because I thought he was already too old to come back and play for a team.

However, he looks fit and I don't want to conclude that he will not do well for the team. The fact that he's coming back makes me expect that the coaching staff will give him quality minutes so he can help the team on the court. I can't wait to see this - it's my first time seeing a PBA player who is already 46 years old and still active.
