I read that June Mar Fajardo is injured and will miss a few games. Do you think he will be playing against the bay area dragons? I am anticipating that game and wanted to see how he will match up against the big men of the Dragons. It is bad timing that he got injured before that game.

As far as I know, JuneMar Fajardo is now ruled out*** for SMB against the Bay Area Dragons.

Really an unfortunate thing that happened as I want to see how the full SMB team will compete against the Dragons.

A bad timing now that Fajardo is seems returning to his MVP form, especially last conference.
SMB have no more choice but to deal with it, they should adjust their gaming strategy and put someone that can put the defensive plays of JMF.
Bay Area might see a good advantage here over SMB but they should also not take that for granted because SMB is a champion team.
SMB should also activate their import, they might be able to compete with Bay Area on a close scoring game. We will find this out!

Nothing but to try competing SMB still have that capability even without Fajardo, they still got everyone who can explode and produce decent numbers, I see your point with SMB's import he needed to step up and try lifting the whole team, without Fajardo the rotation might change I mean the ball rotations and the system which mostly focus with Fajardo.

Now, all those explosive guards are needed to make something, or, it is also possible for SMB to let this game go as there are still many games to win before the second round.

But, I'm still rooting for my favorite team to play tough and try to win this game against the visiting team.

Breaking news about Jason Castro, he signed a three-year contract extension for TNT.
He deserves it and probably he's seeing himself retiring for TNT and hopefully TNT will give him another opportunity after that, if ever he decides to retire.
Well-deserved contract extension after how he played in the PBA Finals despite of having an injury.
I mean he is the captain of the TNT, and he is like the centerpiece of the team. Without him, the team will be completely different.

I guess he will retire as a TNT player. He will be 39 years old after the contract and maybe he can still play one more year after retiring or he might be given a contract but now under the coaching staff. Who knows but I still see him as a good player still until now. I just hope that in these 3 years, he will get another title.

SMB should be more prepared for this match up and I think they can't afford to lose Fajardo, they need his strength and height so let's see if JMF will really play or will have a rest for now. Bay Area is more eager to bounce back and win again, SMB should anticipate this and don't take anything for granted. I think it's not a serious injury, they can work with that or let's just see if SMB can really have a good game even without JMF.

If I'm SMB though, i will have to sit JunMar Fajardo on this game, yes he is playing good this year, but nevertheless, he is not getting any younger. So the best thing for him is to take a rest and observed that injury.

And again, I know that this is short cup, but they should look at the future and not risk playing JunMar to get just one win here.

As for Castro, yeah, it was a good offer and decision for him to stay with TNT and this could be his last stint and maybe retire his career with the team.

That’s a good contract even though Castro is claiming to be too old for that opportunity, I can still see his desire and composure on every game which we already know how he plays the game. Retiring with TNT is also good, he has been part of the team for years already since 2008 I believe until now, that’s what we called loyalty and he really deserve that.
There’s still a year before his current contract end but Castro decided to already accept the offer, this could be the last contract for him but at least, we can still see him playing for the next 3 years. TNT really don’t want to give up Castro, he can still play and perform good plays that’s why he really deserve it. Castro is still a gold for TNT, I believe he can still do more.

He may be aging but we can still see how productive he is. He is still the leader of the team, and he can still close games when their younger stars are not performing well. So, he deserves that contract.

Who knows, maybe for that long 3 year's extension Castro may be able to win one.

If he continues to be aggressive and performs at high intensity, why not. He is still a vital part of the team and as we saw last conference, he still has what it takes to be an MVP. If he does not get injured, he can is still a candidate for MVP.

He deserved this contract extension and I think this is the management's way of thanking him for leading the TNT franchise to countless battles and also giving them championships. It is also good to know that they didn't trade him for younger players like what SMB did to Cabagnot and Santos.
Right! He has contributed a lot to the TNT franchise and no one can deny that fact. He should have given lots of opportunities after his contract and serving the franchise for so many years.

I thought that PBA doesn't have a scheduled game tomorrow as no odds are listed in my favorites bookies for PBA games but as I checked the PBA website, there are two games scheduled tomorrow, Blackwater vs Terrafirma and Ginebra vs Phoenix.
Yes, there is. Usually, the schedules are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sometimes one day is skipped.

The amount is not stated I believe, it's not as transparent as the NBA but for sure it's still a good amount for a veteran and still the leader of the team. Castro approach in playing now is still very effective, he does not play plenty of time, they just save him for fourth quarter big run to win.

Just for my opinion, the contract extension means that he will get the PBA max amount, and he deserves it, the Blurr did everything for this team after Alapag he lift this team sadly to say that when it is his time Junemar dominated the league, the MVP awards mostly been rewarded to Fajardo again as for personal take Castro should win some of it as the level of his game was also on his prime just happen that Fajardo wins the voting body.

Who knows, maybe for that long 3 year's extension Castro may be able to win one.

Yeah, the amount wasn't stated in the article but it should be a decent amount as it was Castro who lead the team in the previous season. Although they failed against the SMB in the finals but it was very evident how good Castro was, so it's a well deserve contract, hopefully he won't have injury problems.

Yes you are right that mate Jason Castro deserve that extension from TNT and without a doubt Castro can still contribute well in thief team like what we saw in finals vs SMB Castro doing well but when he injured then his play affect and now he is in condition then Then for sure a lot of wins he contribute under 3 more years contract. Also the good thing is what other user here said that TNT give a good offer compare to other because like what SMB team did they trade their veteran players to the younger one in order to have a good lineup always.

1 lost doesn't indicate that they might lost consecutively we can consider that they having a bad day and Ginebra is lucky for that time. Its so early to tell that BAC will automatically lost for the rest of their game. They are still the team to beat so let see on their next match if they can pick their selves up since for sure they are also surprised seeing how ginebra perform at that time.

They might be surprised expecting that Ginebra is just the same caliber from those teams that they already beat, the good catch is coach Tim managed to scout the team after watching the game against their extension team(NP) kidding aside, I agree that one loss doesn't mean that they will lose their remaining games, though chances is not impossible since they will be facing teams that have the same class as where Ginebra is in line with.

TNT, if I remember it right, also did that kind of action with Alapag and De Ocampo not sure though if both went to Meralco or maybe only De Ocampo was traded? Giving Castro that kind of contract extension allows him to continue controlling the team, we saw him lifting TNT last AFC, the value of his game still the same, taking charge when the team needed him to perform.

Without Myles Powell, this Dragon will easily be slayed by other team. The game against Ginebra wasn't fair IMO, I mean as a fan I'm not satisfied as I like to see if they can stop the Dragon with Myles Powell. It's a fair playing ground, otherwise, this guest team would not be accepted in the PBA.
Yes you are right that mate without myles Powell this team bay area dragons are not the strongest team it is easily beat by our local team as we all know that during the days when myles Powell is in Bay Area dragon the best teamwork is there and another thing is when myles handle the ball for sure the ball will be passed to the open teammates but now this team without him are easy to lose by our local team's.

I have to disagree with you both. Bay Area Dragons is still a tough team even without Powell. It's just that the Dragons now faced a considered one of the tough teams in the league compared to their early opponents (although NorthPort almost beat them).

And besides, why overhype with the Dragons even with Powell or not? Even prior to the start of the current conference, I never even treat them as an unbeatable team. I even said before that Ginebra might be the one to give the Dragons their first defeat although not considering it a big deal since this guest team is like just any other team in the league on the high-tier level.

At least based on how I looked at them.
Their game against the NorthPort where they almost got beaten is the reason why I changed how I see the Dragons.
Maybe some people are overhyping the Dragons because on how they played in their first game where they just bulldozed the Bossing and won by 40+ points IIRC. Or maybe because they have a 7-foot 5-inch player Cheesy.

Both of their imports are strong in their own ways. Powell is strong in fastbreak, shooting and a good guard as well. Nicholson on the other hand is strong in defense and good in shooting as well. Maybe if there is a problem with the Dragons, it's that they have no guard that can par or at least equal what Powell is doing with the team.

Like you, I don't see them as an unbeatable team as well because if that's the case then the desire of the people to watch PBA games will go even lower because they already know that their favorite team will not win against them. At least now fans see that the Dragons are not unbeatable though they are one of the strongest teams right now. I wonder how they will play in their remaining games knowing that the teams that they will be facing are some of the best teams.

We've seen how Ginebra beat them, the hype is already lost, I mean they are still a good team and a competitive team but they are not the best team in the PBA now although they might be in the number 1 standing. Ginebra did really exposed them, that's why other teams that will face them in their next games might be confident in the game.
