I hope that the Dragons' defeat will now change the mindset of others that this team is unstoppable. Ginebra critics become silent when in pre-game, they are already throwing words to Ginebra that it's now another win for the Dragons.

The game is fairly done, with not many wrong calls and controversies. Good job Ginebra for shutting down those people who don't like the team.  Smiley
In an interview with the Dragons' Coach, he said that Coach Tim Cone is a very respectable coach, and that loss is also a learning to the team as well so...maybe expect a better Dragons in their next game. That game especially in the first half was a fast-paced game with many fastbreaks. I still think that the Dragons didn't expect how better the Ginebra was compared to their last 4 games, and they didn't have time to adjust thus, they lost.

Their next game will be the SMB who is in a 2-game winning streak, and they got a really good point guard as well in Stone. A team who is hungry for revenge after having their first loss versus a team who is in a winning streak.

Without Myles Powell, this Dragon will easily be slayed by other team. The game against Ginebra wasn't fair IMO, I mean as a fan I'm not satisfied as I like to see if they can stop the Dragon with Myles Powell. It's a fair playing ground, otherwise, this guest team would not be accepted in the PBA.

Bay Area Dragons is a strong team and that's why there's pride in it that the Ginkings were able to beat them. More games to come and the next match of BAD will be against the Beermen. Well, this is another expected team that will beat them.
It's like that the fans always talk about the BAD instead of talking about the other teams because it's something new in the league and we want to see more of them and there's that rumor that they've signed a 10-year contract to PBA.
That is just a rumor and a 10 years contract is quiet long, but I really think this can be a good development for PBA for letting a foreign team to participate and let the local teams experience playing with the BAD. They are good and that’s why many wants to beat them, SMB will be the next game for them let’s see if BAD will bounce back and claim the top spot again.
Yes, a rumor and waiting for it to be officially announced if it's real but if not then at least we have heard it if it's actual or not.
We will see if this rumor is true or not once Bay Area team able to enter the Finals, but I'm sure PBA will always enter into a contract that will in favor the system and with this, we area welcome for this progress. Any rumor for other foreign team to participate in the next conference?
Anyway, Bay Area should focus more for their next game it will be another hard game for sure and they have to activate all their players this time or else they will taste another loss again.

it's said that they're staying in a luxury hotel. So, we can imagine the budget for this team if their lodging is in a luxury hotel and the contract that they have is very long.

Maybe not a whole year but a single conference for 10 years. Like they will be joining PBA every Commissioner's cup only. That is feasible. It is already expensive to maintain a local ball club, I guess, it will be triple the expense if you are housing your team in a luxury hotel. They also have to rent gyms for practices and the meals of the players. Imagine the expense they will incur if it will be for a whole year.
An offshore/guest team can handle the finances as they're known to have a stronger currency than us. They've got a budget and it's a lot for them to have its mainstay in the PBA for so long so, I'm sure that they can really do that.

Maybe the PBA observed that the Bay Area Dragon has sparked the curiosity of the fans to watch PBA again, so these rumors are coming out. Let's wait if ever this will come true.
In online presence, probably. But on the court and actual audience, they've witnessed it that it's not that much.

Wow, that's a possible long-term participation though it's just a rumor, but there's always a fire when there's a smoke, right? Who knows, they are cooking something but I'm concerned once they also noticed how PBA was being controlled and manipulated by the bosses of PBA's might be a change in directions when they will feel the unbalance treatment within the league.

Though, let's talk about that when the rumors became reality. For now, just focus on the remaining games and how they will be competing with solid squads.

It is a welcome development actually if ever this rumor will come true. It is not deniable that it is more exciting if there are strong teams that can compete with SMC or MVP teams. PBA is becoming stale because we only see the same sister teams dominating the league. The first time I saw how strong the Dragons are, I got excited to watch them play against strong PBA teams.

And it could even be better if there are more guest teams that can join PBA. It won't become so predictable anymore because of the strong guest teams.

I'd like that to happen so that the PBA will stop the dominance of just 2-3 teams every conference because it's no longer healthy. It's always a farm game and farm teams emerging the league having only those teams that have strong players and always winning those trades because of this norm on them.

Alright, Ginebra beat the Bay Area Dragons! It's now only Magnolia that hasn't lost any game and the Dragons have already 1 lost one for this conference.
I don't know but why it seems that we are all celebrating just this 1 win against the Bay Area Dragons. I think that our minds are collaborating and really want them to lose to any team. This is a boost for the Ginkings and as well as for the other teams that these Dragons won't always be as what we're expecting to be.
That's a Pinoy pride who always want to win, probably to prove to foreign team that we are good in basketball.
Bay Area will face more bigger team and I believe this will not be the last meet up for Ginebra and Bay Area, they can still have a good match in the semi-finals which I still see Bay Area as a one of good team to be on that spot. Magnolia have to be more active this time, many teams are aiming to defeat Magnolia, this is an exciting conference, so much surprises.

Congratulations to the Ginebra Gin Kings, that wasn't the game that we are expecting, the absence of Myles Powell was really huge for the team, and hopefully they will learn that Ginebra is not an easy team to beat, it's just a happy night for me as I also won my bet on this game.

With Blankley not hitting his 3-pointers and the other outside shooters not getting their usual output, they really miss the production of Myles Powell. I think they missed 19 3-pointers at least. Without Powell creating outside or driving inside to draw defenders, they have a hard time getting their output. We can also consider that the Dragons are adjusting to their new import thus resulting in their poor performance. That poor performance was taken advantage of by Ginebra who performed very well.

Congratulations to Ginebra backers. It's payday for them. If they caught the @4 odds, it's quite a big win.

Myles Powell is a huge factor for their success, he is not only in charge of the offense but also creating a play for his teammates. Well, no excuse because they also have an import, but it was his first game so probably the fatigue factor is still their and the lack of familiarity is one reason.

Now that the Bay Area has been exposed they have to think back if they needed to bring Powell back, Nicholson is good, but PBA super teams also have Big men who can help in protecting the boards and play tough defense.

Nicholson still have 3 games to play before the Dragons can choose which between Powell and Nicholson they will want to continue the conference with. Right now, Powell is looking good to continue but I am not shutting Nicholson yet. It was his first game with the Dragons and there might be jitters still and they are in the adjustment period.  I want to see him perform against San Miguel first. If he really cannot carry his team, then it is better for Powell to resume back.

I don't know if it's just a timing for changing their import while they will be facing a much stronger squad, though I really expect that they are not really that good sorry but it's my personal take for this visiting team, NP almost beats them though that new squad is now composed of good role players who can help Bolic and the import to compete.

But moving back, Ginebra gives them a good basis on how other super team can be like. If TNT will play solid, I'm also seeing another loss for the visiting team. Castro, Poguy and Williams will again tower the team with the help of their import.

Looking to see some good adjustments from the visiting team after that game against the crowd's favorite Brgy Ginebra.

They are the team to beat in this conference. Beating them means they are not that strong and that other PBA teams can also beat them. Now that they are exposed, other teams will just follow the format and see if they can also come up with the same success. Also, it is our pride that we could defend our league against the guest teams even if they are strong. It does not matter which team beat them as long as we see that we are not totally dominated by a guest team.
Just because they were beaten by Ginebra means that they're not strong. Still, they're a strong team and they're the most desired team to be beaten by most teams.
That one win has brought the idea that other teams should also aim for the same. But anyway, the Dragons will learn from that lose they've got that they shouldn't be confident with the other teams as well. It only shows that they're not an undefeatable team and they have to equally balance that mindset they have because all other opposing teams can do the same.

I thought that their new import Nicholson will sustain his great performance in the 1st half, but after scoring 26 in the 1st half, he only scored 2 in the 2nd half and the Ginebra just took over on the 2nd half and got the victory.

I expected an arena full of crowd, but still there are many fans out there. I guess the Bay Area didn't expect the Ginebra to play that way and the amount of crowd that will go against them because we know how Ginebra fans are. I also think that changing of import also affected the chemistry of the team and how they will play around him. With Powell, you have a guard who can just make fastbreak and score 30 points. Nicholson is also a good import and has a long wingspan, but it seems that he ran out of gas coming into the 2nd half last night.

I hope that the Dragons are ready because their remaining games will be against SMC and MVP.

Big credit to Brownlee as he really lead the Gin kings to win this game, though not just him but the complete pack! they are really familiar with each other and the system of coach Tim works well. I'm sure a lot of bettors win huge today, ML or handicap all are fully covered by the fans' favorite team.
Lucky to those who are able to grab the good odds yesterday, Ginebra really did well to beat the Bay Area. Though it looks like Bay Area is having trouble dealing with their new import and still on the adjustment period, they should play better if they want to win against the remaining top teams, this might be the start of their losing streak. Congratulations to everyone, Ginebra didn’t disappoint this time!
That was a great game and a great profit as well with a great odds. This is why we should not underestimate Ginebra with that odds, Bay Area suffer on their first loss and probably the next games will be more hard for them as they face top teams in PBA. I watched the game and Brownlee really explode the whole game, it's also good other players to get more involve, Coach Tim really did well on scouting Bay Area, it's finally good to see Ginebra their usual game.

I like that comment coach Tim did his job well for bringing that tight defense, Bay Area feels the pressures and it really the battle of protecting the boards, the locals of Bay area against the locals of gin kings it's a good match up and it was a pride for the pinoy fans especially for the brgy fans.
