I'm unaware, so this Bay Area Dragon is a new team?

They are like a superteam and I see in the schedules that they have games as well on other teams, I think even the SMB will have a hard time winning against Bay Area Dragon.
It's a guest team for this conference. I doubt it that SMB can beat them or even Ginebra. But we'll see.

They're already blind and deaf to the criticisms that they're getting. With all of these trades, it's now making that attention that most of the fans are making fun of the league.
Sad to say but that's the reality and if the PBA management will just play by on their own rules and no changes will happen, we might see more teams get out of it.
The sad thing is SMB and MVP are just playing around inside the league, they are untouchables to whatever they desire, and like what you just mentioned even fans are kept on criticism the league they are just ignoring it and continue to whatever they wanted to do. Without any changes with such kind of rules, it's not the team that will get out of this league but the support from remaining fans.

Older fans understand the competitions before and from what we have seen in this current event, there're no competitions anymore but only business, more on money matters compared with pride and dedications.

Better for young rising stars to aim for the job overseas and earn a huge amount of salaries, instead of being controlled inside PBA and ended up nothing.
Well, just like the comment that I've read before that he stopped watching PBA because he only sees two teams each time in the finals. It's either SMB or MVP that are going to lead to the finals and that's why it's no longer that reliable even if other teams are competitive as well. But due to the trades, they're making a strong team stronger because of that advantage of sister teams and farm teams trade.

The Bay Area Dragons won easily against Black Water. Well, what team can Bossing beat easily?  Cheesy

It's good for me that Bay Area Dragons is not holding back. They should go in full force against any PBA teams. Play at their 100% performance every game.

I want them to even make a championship and that was a big slap for the PBA.

They will surely wake up if that happened.
I guess even if they don't go wholly 100% with their performances, they can still win. Looking at their roster, it's really like hard to beat but they're just starting.
We have to wait until the other teams go play against them. No holding back for the other PBA teams too, this is like a challenge for them. IIRC, since they've been playing practice games, they never went to a lose. Well, correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know what the whole league is thinking with those recent trades that happened and they will call it fair. The worst is when Blackwater is involved in a 3-team trade and gives up their top rookie Brandon Rosser. It's 100% obvious what will happen next on Rosser. Smiley

I'm an SMB fan for quite some time but in this conference, I wish that the Bay Dragons will win the championship.

I watched the first half and 3rd quarter of the first game between Bay Area and the Blackwater and the import of Dragons is really amazing. 41 points in only 29 minutes. Unfortunately, he will only play in their first few games because their original import will be back but he's amazing. Those handles and crossovers. For sure many players will dance with him, and we might see an ankle breaker in the next games.

Our PH players are like dwarves when they are near to their 7'5" player Cheesy. He is the tallest player to ever played in the PBA and for sure, even the likes of Tautuaa, Almazan and even Fajardo will be having a hard time when he is in the paint.

Now it's more of people watching because of the "ending" bet.  Grin

This is actually true. I'm a regular bettor of the "ending" game and know the feeling of waiting for the game results regardless of what team will be the winner. Since then, oldies are now used to placing a bet on that game even currently, they don't actually know the current roster of a certain team now. It's like a tradition already as "pake" or simply, pay later, is allowed here as long as the person is a regular bettor. Sometimes "pake" can last up to 5 or more games that's why it's convenient for others to play "ending".

1st day of the new conference, we all witnessed an exciting game, it's more exciting the previous conference due to the imports, so hopefully we will be able to enjoy this.

NorthPort beat Phoenix, 92-89, the final score..

Bollick was the leading scorer with 21 points, while the imports contributed 19 points,
The opening didn't make a buzz.

not a super import IMO but the height is very useful as he grabbed 15 rebounds as well.
They have their role inside the court and what's more interesting is the start of this conference, the guest team already played. The Bay Area Dragons won easily against Black Water. Well, what team can Bossing beat easily?  Cheesy
Those practice games that the BAD did doesn't have any difference from their very first match. Well, are we going to see the guest team as the champion of this conference?  Tongue

Yes the first game of this conference got intense because ad we saw in the two games many players show they're talent to aim the victory and  in the first game northport is going it and it's nice to see bolick and their import carry the team to victory against Phoenix. But what I shock the most is the game two which Bay Area vs blackwater and as we all saw Bay Area Dragons manage the lead from the first quarter until the end the movement of the ball are too quick and also a lot of three-pointers  from their team and also their center which 7  foot 5 doing good. Maybe  Filipino team will be struggle if they face BayArea no doubt they are good or pro enough.

I missed the game, so busy with the dramas circulating around and unable to monitor the actual day of the opening, but with that performance from Bollick I'm looking forward to see more from this star, I remember the rumors before that he will also be acquired by SMB, I'm wondering if how they will adjust if TR7 and Perez are already playing with SMB and adding Bollick might bench one of them, luckily that they kept Bollick instead and let go a young Malonzo to Gin kings. Better prospect for better future squad.

Looking at the recap on the 2nd game, the guest team is really dominant, though it's not the first time bossing, and the guest met but by looking at the final scores, simply telling that there's nothing interesting with the bossing.

Overall, the Commissioners' Cup will start today, and I don't know if I will be excited to watch games because of these "Fair and Balanced" trades that are happening (a bit of sarcasm on it). The joke is on point that it made me laugh though and starting today, I will call Comm. Willie "Puppet" because that's what he really is.

Thanks for reminding, I didn't notice that the Commissioners' Cup will start today, and it's really true as I verified, almost miss betting on the first game. Well, what can you say, PBA is never balanced, the big team owners will always take the edge since other teams are just farm teams.

Right, so I might have to pass with this games in the beginning, just want to see what will happen.

But obviously as you pointed out the league has somewhat very controversial because the teams are not equally as balance as it had been for years. And perhaps this is one reason why the PBA is losing so much in terms of viewership as compare to it's previous years wherein everyone was glued to their television. Now it's more of people watching because of the "ending" bet.  Grin

I don't know the imports actually but I said to myself I will not pass the first game, so I put my bet. By the way, I'm rooting for the Northport to win, I also have a small bet on them after the first half, let's see if they will get their first win, they are the underdog here.

Congrats mate, big win by the NP, they were behind but they rally to win. Though the import of NP was fouled out, but it does not give them a problem, it was Sumang who carried the team in the dying seconds, his drive and a 3 point shot gave them a lead, and in the end it was Robert Bollick who give a win.

I will translate this, A.Chua said we want Malonzo. Com. Marcial said, sure boss all yours. Papers are on the table all sets and good to go!
Haha!  Cheesy
That's always way to go if it's for the sisters company trades. But if it's for the other teams that's not part of MVP and SMC, they'll just reject the trade.
Well, what a joke when people think of these trades are becoming always favorable to these powerful and rich teams.
That's why I call Comm. Willie "Puppet" because he has been a puppet of these 2 big companies naming MVP and SMC.
Comm. Willie "Puppet" Marcial has approved these unbalanced trades for a very long time already and it's always these 2 companies that are benefitting from it. When will be the time where independent teams will benefit from these 2 companies? Maybe only if the Commissioner will be replaced.

Nice translation and that will probably happen very soon.

Well, PBA league is losing its popularity already, players are leaving, so I'm pretty sure they will find a way to make it popular again. I'm hoping that they will make big changes and that they would listen to the fans to give way to more teams joining the PBA.
Allowing more teams to join might lose more the credibility of PBA, and beside it’s not cheap to have a new team so we might not see any new team for now. What PBA needs to do is to improve their system, they need to be better so they can get back the trust of the public. Players going abroad is pretty normal, what is not normal is that why they are transferring into a league that PBA is way better? Technically there’s is something wrong with the system and they have to address that issue.

Adding more team to be another farm team is not the solution to PBA's current problem. There is no competition because all the best players are being hauled in a few powerful teams. Only MVP and SMC teams are getting the good players while the other teams are there just for participation. As mentioned here before, you can already guest who will be playing in the finals and even guess who will win the conference before it even begun. That should be addressed but the commissioners are too blind to see it or just blatantly ignoring it because of money.

Allowing more teams in PBA is a good idea but for me this is not the time yet they will make sure that PBA runs in a good and more entertaining like you said their system must be changed and if that will happen then if there's more team will enter in the PBA the more the interesting to watch and also many players around the Philippines have been given a chance to play in our own leagues. BTW now is the starting of the season .
