We have an exciting game today.

3;00 pm
Magnolia vs Hotshots

6:00 pm

SMB vs Ginebra.

Please share your thoughts on these games guys, these are good teams, especially the last game, so I like to know your opinion about what team to beat here.

SMB is still undefeated,  I think they will experience their first defeat in the season in this game. Ginebra is +2.5 while the moneyline is 2.15, that is very attractive to be honest, so I would not hesitate betting on them as they are a healthy team and they have a chance here.

Recently he made some remarks about Japan so I guess he still got some offered to play overseas and maybe this time he will.

When, mate? Is that the recent incident where he was being rejected? As per some articles and repots around, they said that Calvin Abueva made it clear that it's not Japan Japan Japan but Gapan Gapan (place in Nueva Ecija), sounds funny? Cheesy

Or you are referring to a different remark? Can you share it?

But I think he's not getting any offer, for now, to play in Japan unlike before but rather offers may be from South Korea.

He just shouted Japan as part of his protest.

So what really happen with Calvin Abueva?

The words JAPAN! JAPAN! JAPAN! and BYE PBA! that's big, is here serious with that, and will soon leave the PBA for JAPAN?

He was really frustrated because he thought there should be no call, but the words coming from his mouth, it simply tells that he is not 100% happy playing with the PBA.
Possible. He has seen that there are better opportunities offshore than staying in the PBA. As we can see, a lot of young and professional players have been adopted by the other leagues abroad and that's a lot of money for them to say. A 1 year of contract would be enough as testing the waters and at the same time get more possible opportunities in other different leagues in the region. Like Justin Gutang of Filbasket, he's going to play for Changwon LG in the Korean basketball league.

Of course, he can play a one year contract, but if he will not get renewed, I doubt he can still come back to the PBA if he is vocal that he doesn't like PBA anymore. It's better for him to do the right procedure, don't criticize the PBA, and just leave professionally.

Based on the comments I read, some people say that if Calvin will leave PBA, they will also stop watching the PBA.
So you see, Calvin has a lot of fans because he makes the PBA more entertaining to watch.
Well, I've seen a lot of fans that are no longer watching PBA and have seen that it's more competitive to watch the other leagues. It's sure that there will be fans that will go along with their idols if they leave the league and that's normal for the fandoms.
There have been issues like this before and still those players that have been in the issue still able to get a contract unless Calvin will really leave the PBA.

.

If Calvin wants to join in Japan B-league then one thing I can say that's a good choice joining that league for sure you gain more advantages first the salary which is if you have a practical mindset you will choose the high-value amount of salary, second is that joining this kind of league will make you more veteran cause you've encountered many veteran players which you must be smarter and better than them to prove that you will be a star. But besides that advantages, there's a disadvantage as well and that's the reason why some players choose PBA over another league, for now let's wait for the final announcement by the PBA and also from calvin.

He say before when he get suspended on PBA that he want to comeback because he need money for his family so if there's an offer for him on B-League for sure Calvin would accept that offer. The salary on japan is so huge compare on PBA and he's not young anymore so getting more money while his still can play is the best choice for him.
He was offered but I don't know if he's still getting offered recently, the last time I know was that he turned down an offer from Thailand and Japan because he wanted to bring his talent in PBA and that time, he was still tied with Phoenix so it's not like he does have an option to bite those offers. Recently he made some remarks about Japan so I guess he still got some offered to play overseas and maybe this time he will.

Converge seemed doing a pretty good job so far in this season.

I like their great start, they won again by a good margin and this time against the DYIP.

I don't know if the ranking is already updated (https://pba.ph/standings), but having a 2-3 start will give them an opportunity to be in the elimination.

2-3 start for a new team is not bad, they are the Alaska team (previously), so we can expect that they are not a trash team, they play good defense and that is already built in the team. I like to see them in the playoffs to play with the big boys, Ginebra, SMB and TNT, these are the favorites to win, let's see if they can beat them.
TNT, Ginebra, SMB and magnolia is a tough teams for now and if converge can beat them maybe they have a chance to advance to quarter-finals or semi-finals. But converge have done good in This season and they won their match against terrafirma and have a 2-3 record and if they are have a good teamwork and a great play for sure in their next match they will win. But smb is still the number one for this season.

Yes, based on the current ranking, SMB is the number 1.

They are the only team that remains undefeated with 3-0 record (https://pba.ph/standings)
However, playoffs is different, it doesn't matter if you are undefeated before the playoffs, what's important is the team is ready to compete and win.

TNT will have Williams back soon, that will be a tough team to beat honestly.
If that will happen for sure TNT will be good match in SMB because we all know that SMB is one of the best teams in PBA not because they have Fajardo but because they have good defense and offense, and also they have good teamwork but if Williams back to the TNT for sure they have a good offense ad we all know that willams is one of the best player in PBA that can carry His team to victory and also they are though enough to beat SMB cause they have Castro and pugoy which good point guard.

So according to coach Chot Reyes, Pogoy does not need to score 30+ points per game because Williams will share the load.

Well, he doesn't have to because Williams is going to take care of the team to ensure a win. He was a rookie last season but already won an MVP while giving his team the championship they want. For sure, by this time, he is better as his chemistry with the team gets better as well, and also, let us not forget that he comes back so we can expect that he has a bigger deal now, something that satisfies him certainly.

Lady Luck is finally getting on the side of TNT.

None other than Tropang Giga head coach Chot Reyes disclosed that reigning Philippine Cup Finals Most Valuable Player Mikey Williams is set to arrive in the country early Sunday morning.

“Sumakay na sa eroplano. Hopefully, he arrives tomorrow,” Reyes said, knocking on the table of the press room and hoping no more snags happen, after TNT’s 78-71 win over Meralco.

“So, hindi na kailangan lagi mag-score ng 30 points lagi ni Roger [Pogoy]. Magkakaroon na siya ng katulong although we know that he won’t be in game shape,” added the five-time PBA Coach of the Year as Pogoy is currently averaging 19.5 points per game — including two games that saw him tally more than 27 points.

So according to coach Chot Reyes, Pogoy does not need to score 30+ points per game because Williams will share the load.

He said that because of his frustration with that no-call but I don't think that he isn't happy playing with the PBA.
If that's the case then why did he came back to play in the PBA after being banned for more than a year?

Remember the no touch foul in the bubble between Paul Lee and Heruela? Referee calls aren't perfect but the problem is they are making too much wrong calls that makes the player frustrate. On the other hand, players must remain their cool all the time when they are on the court. It's only the start of the PH Cup and I don't think that Abueva will go to Japan or I should say, Magnolia management will allow him to play there.

It's only the start of the PBA Season and yet there are so many things that are happening. One is this Abueva drama and the other one is the "Pregnant Foul" they call on Coach Pido as he bumped Coach Vanguardia using his huge stomach Cheesy.

he's not getting any younger, and it's time for him to take advantage of that kind of offer if, in case, he already dealing with someone

from the B-League, there's no need to prove himself inside the PBA. After he comeback there's no issue coming from his side. This is the

first one and maybe that statement is out from frustrations or he really meant those words. Either way, if there's an opening to play

outside of the country, nor to settle this concern as a pro, he and his agent will continue to generate profits.

We can't still know for sure what Calvin Abueva meant by that remarks he made after he was ejected from the game. Maybe we can have some further details about it tomorrow as PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial summons him to his office regarding the remarks he made.

Things are getting bad in the PBA nowadays, I mean, it's not the PBA we've seen as we grow. Maybe Abueva could find his journey in Japan B. League, we will get some more information about that soon.

The fact that the word Japan came out from his mouth, that means he is considering playing in Japan, and if he is not happy with the PBA rules, then maybe one day we will hear the news that Calvin is going to the B League. IMO, it's good if he will play as it's more competitive their and the salary is way better than what he is making in the PBA.
