Anyhow, the PBA can't afford anymore if there's some other upcoming setbacks like another variant (cross finger) because they've poured too much funds already according to the PBA. Yes, at last PBA will resume soon and this time, the dates of the games are already posted so I suppose we can now bet again next week. Happy betting everyone!
We should hope and believe that the government already learn the possible ways to continue decreasing the spread, PBA can't afford another delay to their target schedule, it's been long since they postponed the game and for sure they are really affected financially, but likewise, the betting will be resume for the gamblers and aside from those fans who's longing to see their teams and players, gamblers are also excited to place their bets.. It's good that they already have a date for the resumption. I think all of the imports who nurses an injury are all well now and those who are in the US will have some time to travel and be there in the re-opening.

If NCR is on alert level 2 then possibly crowd will be allowed soon.

Anybody here knew the status of James Yap on ROS? He was given a contract by ROS and yet i have not seen him played this conference.
It's been adjust for the betterment I guess, thanks for the update and changing alert level will allow the full resumptions of the game and with lowering it to alert 2 means that in any time soon the crowd will also be allowed to watch the games, I more on seeing them inside metro and not in a bubble type setup.

Very familiar venue and players don't need to adjust, practices will also be resumed and they can work everything in a normal way.

Let's hope for the best and enjoy picking our bets..  Roll Eyes Wink

It's great that our country was able to manage the pandemic, the number of cases are dropping so we are back in business again, especially for the PBA. I expect a full resumption that no interruption is going to happen again. Everything should be in place now that PBA will resume in February 11, and the amount of time given for practice is enough for them to fully prepared for the remainder of the conference.

Thanks for the update @freedomgo, that's a great news.

So it's not gonna be the 1st week of February but on the 2nd week, regardless, at least it doesn't take too long before the PBA will resume and we can see some live actions soon. There's no crowd, it's understandable, what matters is PBA will be back soon.

They Decided to resume it on Feb 11 which will be great for teams that have injuries, and a great time to rest for players to be in their shape and I think the PBA officials can not do something about the regulation here in the Philippines the need to follow the rules and need to comprehend the situation when the Omnicron Virus have surge here in the Philippines the government needs to take action and place an alert level 3 in all part of the country, but right now that we are back at alert level 2 I think there are certain things that are now allowed, and the LGU even though we are in a certain alert level close contact sport such as basketball are now allowed, so I wish it will not surge back again.

It's good that they already have a date for the resumption. I think all of the imports who nurses an injury are all well now and those who are in the US will have some time to travel and be there in the re-opening.

That's for sure, but for now, let's enjoy the announcement about resumption as they can still give entertainment even without a crowd.
No schedule for now seen in https://www.pba.ph/schedule.. but I expect them to update it at least a days before the actual date of resumption.

Anybody here knew the status of James Yap on ROS? He was given a contract by ROS and yet i have not seen him played this conference.
No idea about his status now, what I only know is that he run for the politics and probably will get busy since the election are coming.

Finally, we have the official announcement from the PBA.

Quote
PBA Governors' Cup resumes on Feb. 11

THE elimination round of the PBA Governors' Cup will resume on February 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said teams will first be given 10 days to practice starting Feb.1.

But fans will still not be allowed to watch the games in the first couple of days of action.

In his initial assessment, the league may welcome fans on the second week of its resumption, depending on how the COVID situation will progress.

"Wala munang fans. Pag-aaralan muna natin yung sitwasyon kung pwede na tayong magluwag. At the earliest baka second week magpapasok na tayo ng fans," Marcial said.

No more speculation now as it's already announced that the PBA will resume, and we should be happy with that as betting is always fun when watching the PBA>

With the current suggestion from Octa-research group to lower the alert level to level 2, I’m confident as well that this conference will have a higher chance to continue by next month, looks like the restriction will slowly back to alert level 2 as the case continues to go down as well. Maybe the surge is really just because of the holiday break and now everything is getting better and PBA are more likely to continue now, we really want to see them playing again.
To be more safe they should continue their Bubble set-up plan to avoid any further delays since there’s no guarantee that the government will relaxes the alert level, Omicron is still a threat for sure. As much as we want to see them playing again, the situation now is different the committee should go for the best option right now and that’s a bubble set up.

The problem with bubble setup is, there might be a chance that Manila will shift to Alert level 2 any time. A waste of time, money and effort to push for that kind of setup. That's why PBA instead, set a timeline until the whole February to finalize everything.

There are already plans but needs lots of consideration. Aside from general terms by IATF, GAB or any government institutions, they also need an approval from the LGU where they will consider to setup a bubble type event.

Regardless, I'm sure PBA will be back in February.

We don't need to rush. At least , PBA is always keeps us updated.

February or March, no worries for us PBA is good at doing their best to give entertainment to the people while in pandemic.

Trading rumors anyone? It's a good to discuss that matter.

It is hard to decide nowadays cause the crowd wants to see the actual games of these players but the committees must do their responsibility and make a good decision. If they where going to bubble set up it's okay cause it is for their own sake cause we all know that this omicron will not just be easy to beat it's spreading fast.

It's not hard to decide if PBA won't have a crowd. They are playing games with that setup since 2020 so nothing new. It's easy easy to decide that there will be no crowd instead of other important matters. No crowd and that's final. They will able to continue with before setup of no audience instead of waiting for too long for daily confirmed cases to rise up.

If they will  decide on their own they would choose to have crowd, however, it's going to be the IATF who should be followed here since they are implementing bodies to ensure that the virus will not spread to its worst, all the PBA can do is just to comply.

There's no concrete announcement of the dates yet that they're going to resume the said games next week but as said by PBA Commissioner Marcial that they are just waiting for the signal, so it's quite positive that we will be seeing some games soon and that makes me excited because I'm not that contented about the games last year.

That's correct. If PBA will be allowed now by any institutions, it will be easy for them now to work on schedule. It's just that, since they are waiting for it, they can't finalized the date of the return. Should be by February and that's good.

The community isn't that overreacting to our confirmed daily cases everyday. It will contribute to the positive mindset of everyone. As we know, mind over body is really one of the effective way to battle a disease, at most cases.

We are already optimistic that PBA will resume, as optimistic as the management, so that's a good thing and the fans will surely be happy although the setup will not be the same before it was paused. Resume betting again and continue watching the entertaining games of the PBA, with imports playing, that's a higher level of enjoyment for us.

It was indeed a great news to us and soon we can begin betting on our favorite teams too Grin

The PBA has already clarified 2 weeks ago that there will be no bubble set-up and will only resume the season when the covid cases will be reduced especially in NCR to make sure the safety of their players and staffs. As of now, the covid cases in the NCR are really decreasing everyday and it's a good news as the PBA games won't be postponed again anymore.

If the case will continue to decrease but if another increase will take place the government has no other option but to limit again those indoor activities, PBA is not exempt to any action from the government, but for now, we should be happy with this news if the spread is now decreasing and the cases that has been reported is not the same as what happened before this alert level 3 then it will be a win-win for fans and the organization.. PBA commissioner Willie Marcial on Monday, January 24, said the board of governors agreed to restart the stalled Governors’ Cup in February with the number of coronavirus cases, particularly in Metro Manila, starting to drop.
Marcial said the league was just waiting for the approval of local government units (LGUs) for the return of scrimmages as the board of governors acknowledged that teams should be given 10 days to practice.
Source: https://www.rappler.com/sports/pba/pba-eyes-february-restart-for-stalled-governors-cup/

As stated from the source, they're still waiting for the LGU's approval to have a green light and to start the 10-day allocated practice before they announce the exact date of when does the games will resume, so I guess 1st week of February isn't final yet. But atleast we know that there's something we can look forward to especially that this games is likely to happen as the covid cases is also slowing down.
Well, at least this is a good news already for us fans and for the PBA management themselves.

Its a win-win that this league will continue which is I think will resume at first Cheesy. Its good too that they didn't went to the Bubble set-up which is we are expecting that they are doing. The number of cases too in the NCR are slowly decreasing already and overall cases are decreasing as well so... yeah I'm happy to see the league resume Smiley.
