Lets forget first the Terrence Romeo rumors and lets see some other news that are related to Basketball

Shabazz Mohammad, the import of Meralco has been replaced by Tony Bishop. Mohammad is replaced due to a personal emergency.
- Base on One Sports Facebook Page, Bishop is the leading scorer of the Panama National Team in 2017 Fiba AmeriCup. Making a quick Google search and you will find that the National team ranks 48 overall so they are at the middle of the rankings. He is the top 2 leading scorer of the team with 16 PPG and the top rebounder with 9 RPG so I'm expecting that this averages will be higher coming into the PBA although I want to see Shabazz playing in the league. Its just very exciting to see an NBA player playing into our league but.. things like this are happening.
We haven't seen Mohammad played yet so it's okay, at least they have an import to compete in the next conference.
His stats - https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/b/bishoto01d.html

Anyway, any announcements into when the Governor's Cup will begin? Maybe I'm not updated Cheesy
There's no official news yet but it's expected to start this month.

Yes, once you play abroad you should follow their rules and respect your contract and as an import you must show respect to everyone. With Romeo the way he played in local games, should not be our basis to judge him especially with the skills that he have. Though, there’s no final announcement yet with this one, I don’t think it will push through since Romeo is still under contract and its up to his management to allow him or not.

With the breakdown of the contract that he will get an increased salary per year, he would not make a bad decision messing up as he might not be able to come back to the PBA anymore. So I think Romeo will behave, he will set his patience to the highest level and play like a real professional or a real import.

All these things would only happen if he will accept the contract, so let's hope he'll grab it.

Now the loyalty of Romeo will be tested here. Will he accept the offer and eat the words that he said that he has a life debt to SMC or it will be the other way around.

Lets see how this one goes. Its starting to have an effect already. Many are expecting I think that this will have a domino effect not only for young players but for professional players in the PH as well and we don't know when this will end since it seems that Japan likes to get Filipino Imports Cheesy. He can accept this offer but his name might get affected but either way, its his decision to go there or stay. It will just be harder for him since he spit those words like "he has a life debt to SMC therefore, he will not accept any offers from there".

He doesn't need that loyalty; he needs the money Grin Roll Eyes with how things change in his life now, better to think for a much better future, his career will be more effective if he will play outside the country, I used to remember when the call for him to play for Gilas and the coaching staff just take it for granted, not saying that it's not SMB alone but for sure if that said offer is for real, he should grab it now.

He already gives SMB his best from the past games that he played. I'm sure seeing his teammates leaving will also affect his
decisions.

We will know once he or the SMB managements will announce anything about this rumor,.

Romeo should take that offer now that he is still healthy, once he is prone to injuries, that offer will be gone and he will stay in the PBA for the rest of his life, and just like Cabagnot and Santos, he will also be traded because the team will never be loyal to him, all they do is for the interest of their business, not their personal relationships to their players.

Good thing is that the offer is still on, I heard that rumors before already about a huge contract but Romeo did not take it, maybe he would change his mind as we have a lot of Filipino players already playing in Japan for a greener pasture. Romeo has to be smart, if he plays at least 3 years in Japan, he can retire early because the salary is huge and with the money he'll receive, he can already secured his future after retirement.
Romeo is good but his attitude in court might be a big problem if ever he plays on Japan. Look what happened to Thirdy where he get sanctioned from his own team because of his bad behavior, well Romeo didn’t accept that for a reason most probably his management didn’t approve that. If Romeo will play on Japan, I hope to see a younger Romeo where he plays with a lot of motivation and with a good respect to other players as well.

It's very different when playing in his native land compared to playing abroad, for sure Romeo knows that and he will be careful because his contract is huge and he doesn't want to risk that. During international games that we saw Romeo is playing, he is just cool and plays his best, so I am expecting the same if he ever play with B league.

Great news for Ginebra Fans, the team will remain intact and they'll not follow the SMB>

Quote
BARANGAY Ginebra is not pushing the panic button as far as making personnel changes is concerned with their core already into their late 30s, and its counterparts recently making efforts to get younger.

Head coach Tim Cone said management is aware about the need of the Kings to get younger with the likes of LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar, and Stanley Pringle already in their mid-30s, citing the trade to bring in Sidney Onwubere as proof.

But Cone said the core remains in their prime and still has a lot to offer in the coming conferences before making the transition of getting younger.

Maybe it also depends on how the coach would react, in the case of Leo Austria, maybe he agree with the decision of the management so the management made the decision easily.
They missed to be on the final last conference and yet the coach still believe on its players especially with the records that they have, he can’t just throw away those great players just because of their age that’s a great move by Ginebra. I also think that it will still depend on the decision of the coach since he’s the one that knows his own players and if he didn’t agree with the management, he can make a way.

SMB did it on their superstar players like Danny Siegle, Danny I, Allan Caidic, Arwind Santos and Cabagnot and many more in the future.
In SMB, there is no safe haven because you will be traded as long as you are becoming old and those old players out there such as Ross and Lassiter? They will be traded to maybe not this time but next year most probably.
There are only a few players that retired in their desired team, but it should be okay, before they enter in the PBA, they know all the possibilities, and since it's a business, no team are going to keep a player that is not anymore performing based on the expectation of the management.

On the other hand though, I think Romeo needs to take those offers outside PH but it seems that his loyalty to the team is what affects him in deciding.
Everyone has a price, let's not close the possibility that one day he will change his mind and play with the Japan B League.

Well, all of these are just rumors for now. We saw CStand having rumors of going to B-League. We also saw Fajardo last year I think (correct me) and also Aguilar and now Romeo as well. Either way, if this is true then Romeo must take the offer now that he is still 29 years old. He is still at his prime years and he can earn more money outside PH for his family.

There are rumors involving the best players in the PBA, so let's just be open that they might decide to play with the B League and I'm just worried that PBA is less exciting to watch since our favorite players are moving out already.

Anyone who follows Snow Badua? Before, Romeo said that he has a life debt to SMC and that's why he doesn't want to accept B League's offer.

Snow Badua always released lots of rumors and the majority of them come true. I don't know his source but his speculation is mostly accurate. Maybe because of his influence as one of the popular journalists of Spin.ph.
Yes, he's most of the time accurate with his releases and he's got the reputation and that's why many believe in everything that he releases to the public.

But lately, the guy that I've mentioned has just opened the offer to Terrence for about $55,000/month and it will increase within the next year or next season of his stay in the B League.

Wait, I misunderstand this. Snow Badua was the one who offered that to Romeo?
I mean opening up of what was offered to Terrence Romeo and it's the B League that's offering that contract.

That incident involving Thirdy Ravena was just an isolated case as the guy is not known for that, it's just a burst of emotion that he's the reason why they lose that game, surely he would learn from that experience.

Have read an article saying that Romeo and Bolick are the players that scouts from Japan really wanted because of their skills but I think that would not happen because both players have existing contracts with their mother teams.

For sure Romeo's attitude will change if ever he played in Japan as he has nowhere else to go if ever no more teams pick him up because of that reason.

Put him on a different team and he might dominate again. What I think is wrong is that, the system of Coach Tim Cone isn't working for CStand for some reasons that is why he isn't as dominate as he was a few years ago.
C. Stand is not also impressive during his stay with the North Port, so I can really say that he is not what we are expecting him to be. He played with SMB, I guess that's where his numbers were up but later he was traded for Tautua, so I don't understand why a good player is traded from time to time.
Hmmmm didn't he played very well when he is in NorthPort??

I mean when he joined NP, the team is just one of the few teams that are in the 8th seed that defeated a top seeded team and he has a huge contribute to that. If I remember correctly, he averaged double double that conference as well. Trading him from SMB to NP would be better for him because he can't use his skills that much in SMB since he is just a 2nd unit and they are focusing on Fajardo. They know as well that CStand has a huge potential that is why they traded him. Well, at least that is what I know.
I am not sure if he played well with NP, maybe I missed some of his games because North Port is not exciting to watch. I like the NP when Romeo and Pingle were the star players of the team, but when they left, I already lost interest in the team. Also, if C. Stand was doing good in NP then NP should have kept him, so I think they were not satisfied with his impact on the team.

Anyone who follows Snow Badua? Before, Romeo said that he has a life debt to SMC and that's why he doesn't want to accept B League's offer. But lately, the guy that I've mentioned has just opened the offer to Terrence for about $55,000/month and it will increase within the next year or next season of his stay in the B League. All things are free, accommodation and food. That's a good offer to him but still haven't said anything lately with that offer.
That's a huge amount of money. The chance that Romeo might accept this is very possible. With the hypes of those Pinoy stars who played inside B-League, maybe Romeo will accept that he doesn't have anything to prove the talent should be shared internationally Grin If I'm on hi shoe I will go and grab that opportunities, he should look at how SMB trade his big bro players that he respected the most and guide him while he still new to SMB.

He can still go back, correct me if I'm wrong it's a one-year ban then he can apply again to play right? the worth of money he will going to bag from this offer is more than enough to provide his family's needs. Wink Cool

Wink Cool

I agree with you, if SMB can easily ditch their players that have contributed to their success in the past easily, then most likely he will experience it in the future. AFAIK, Romeo's monthly salary is just around Php 200k to Php 300k per month, but if he played with the B League, he will get more or less x10 of his current salary, so I think he should go and forget about that debt of gratitude thing.

This is the story behind that Debt of Gratitdue.

and this is his salary if he every sign a contract.

Breaking down the offer, Romeo, sources said, was supposed to receive $50,000 a month on the first year of the contract, $75,000 in the second and $100,000 in the third year.

$100k per month in the 3rd year, that's more like 5 million pesos per month, that is a life-changing offer and I hope he'll consider it now that the PBA is slowly losing its popularity.

Anyone who follows Snow Badua? Before, Romeo said that he has a life debt to SMC and that's why he doesn't want to accept B League's offer.
