Future wise, Japeth should take this one into consideration. His career is no longer on the hype. PBA might be the best league if you don't want to leave the country, but if you are thinking widely B-League can be a good milk and butter.

Disagree that he's no longer hype. He's the most athletic player on that kind of height in PBA. He is fast, quick, and still doing those nasty dunks. If he needs to think wise and I agree that he should take that offer from B-league. There's no offer that will come to him if he will pass that. Loyalty is ok but money matters to secure the future. Maybe Japeth will not accept the offer if SMC will give him lifetime support lol.

Are we going to see game 1 tomorrow?

I can't find an announcement yet regarding the schedule of the game, but my guess is only based on the regular schedule of the PBA which are on every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Did some quick research and can't find anything about the schedule too. My guess is on Friday to make teams more rested and prepared. I agree with you, in usual, it should be tomorrow but since it's Finals, they give extra days for resting. I'm not sure though.

Let's wait for someone who snatches information on the web.

Off-topic a bit, Japan B-league is eyeing PBA players to be in their league and rumors have it that Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger have lucrative offers to play for them. Japeth is offered 3M Php a month, far from that 900K Php (including bonus) that he currently receives.

Also, they are closely monitoring Junemar and might offer the biggest money to him as he is dominant and popular. This could be the beginning of the end of PBA, what do you think guys?
I saw this news, it's not actually a rumor anymore but an actual offer that B League tries to snatch these two Junemar and Japeth. Only two of them I've seen that's about being offered to play for B League. AFAIK, for Japeth's offer it's around Php 2M per month for the first year of his contract, and next year it will be around Php 2.9M so yeah around Php 3M. That doesn't include the perks and bonuses. If I want to settle as soon as possible since I'm getting old, I'll take that offer but maybe he's too thankful to RSA as Terrence Romeo has said too.

The case of Japeth is far from what Romeo has. He's already aging and has injuries that may trigger while playing inside PBA. The offer is very alluring, considering that he's no longer in his prime.

I see though the difference if B-Legue will offer Fajardo, not by far SMB are capable to offer the same though it will be on the under the table deal.

Future wise, Japeth should take this one into consideration. His career is no longer on the hype. PBA might be the best league if you don't want to leave the country, but if you are thinking widely B-League can be a good milk and butter.
They may have a different case but I'm talking about being indebted to their team, to the company and management that has taken care of them.
There's also another news that there's a network that tries to deal with B League to broadcast it on national free TV. IIRC, that's GMA network. Well, PBA has to be alarmed on this matter.

Well, I guess that would be awesome if we can see a live game in our local channel, maybe if more PBA players will play with the B league, we can make a thread and we can also start betting. Japeth fits in the B league, look at Kobe Paras and the Ravena brothers, they are doing well fo their respective teams and they really play like a real import.

I love to handle this contest but just too many constraints for me here as I'm very busy with other stuff IRL but there are guys who can handle this contest like @mirakal and Russlenat and they already know the mechanics as they have done this before. I will just support and participate in this event.
Same here, as much as I love to run this kind of betting contest again but I'm afraid I would not be able to concentrate because I'm busy with my real-life business. I'm putting in a lot of time as you know it's a pandemic and we need to earn to survive in these hard times, anyways I'm still betting on PBA but not much compared to the past.

It's understandable as we all need to adjust during this pandemic, though we also love betting at some point and we continue doing it in a much lesser way. I feel you Kabayan Grin

I know both of you are very active with our local basketball league, a fan and a gambler in a such ways. Tongue

Good luck to your chosen team to win the title or if you are not a fan to win each game from this series, let's enjoy and hope that it will
also ended in a do or die game Roll Eyes Grin

Noted, I guess we just stick with betting on the bookies, that way we are all equal and given a chance to bet on the team that we like to win. Betting on a series is good but it's just unfortunate that our bookies do not offer this kind of market, so it should go with the normal betting which is per-game betting.

It's easier for bettors to decide what team to bet on in the Finals as both teams have an equal chance to win (IMO).

No, it's more difficult to choose since they are equal. Bettors will mostly base their pick on their favorites regardless of their performance.

I'm with TNT Katropa this time. But first I need to watch their Game 1 performance before placing my bet. I will not bet just because I'm with TNT. I'm not a fan of both teams that's why I will use my gamblers' way.

You'll miss the fun if you will not bet in game 1, yes this is all about which team is your favorite to win and I think there's no need to overanalyze as this would be a close game. I like to bet on the series but there's no betting line for that, so how about one of our trusted members here set up a betting contest so everyone will have some fun.

I would love to join the betting if someone would set up a contest. maybe biskdak can do this.
I'll pass, I prefer to bet on per game and will just choose to be on the bookies.

Maybe I will change my mind, depending on the number of participants that are willing to join.

Anyway, who do you think will win the best player of the conference? as per this article, it says that Calvin Abueva is leading the race.

Abueva still leads race for PH Cup BPC plum

I think he will win as the BPC and it will increase his chance if Magnolia will win the championship.

he will likely get two awards, one for BPC and one is for Finals MVP.

I think there is still plenty of time, by the way, when is game 1 of the Finals?

It should be Abueva this time. Stat-wise, he got this and with the changes in his attitude, I'm sure he would get the votes from other players which is the vital factor in winning this award.

I don't look at the stats anymore but I believe that Calvin has a big impact on the team that's why they reach the Finals and I also believe that he is now the most consistent in the team, hence he should be the best player of the team.

Wise move Grin bet as a gambler find the advantage and carefully analyze before placing your money. Not a fan of both teams too, but it's better to see these two teams instead of seeing both SMC to play in the finals.

TNT and Magnolia, if we compared the roster gives a well balance squad, hard to predict both are hungry to win a title.

But bettors instinct also leading me to choose TNT. Coach Chot will give everything now. He always wanted to impress Boss "M" Grin Roll Eyes
Good luck !

Congrats to all the TNT backers here. Their 3-point shooting did tow them to the Finals this time and though I lose my bet but just happy on the other hand that it is not an all SMC team in the finals. Too early to predict but IMO, this series is a 50-50 as there is no clear advantage to either team.

Japeth Aguilar's original plan is really to play overseas. He is vocal on that plan before and even trained in the US for his dream career. Unfortunately, things don't seem to go in his way so he ends up signing and playing in PBA. Now that he got an offer, it will be his key to fulfill his original dream.

Standhardinger also has no secret that he is receiving offers. He should get that as he is not fit with Ginebra lol.

JuneMar also needs to accept the offer because he is still lucky to have one as he is not already in his prime and is now injury proned. I also doubt he can bring an impact on the team that will sign him.

In terms of defense, I think Magnolia has an edge but under Coach Chot Reyes, TNT has really improved a lot.
The advantage of the Magnolia is their inside presence as Sanggalang and Abueva can both dominate inside and I don't think the bigs of TNT would be able to stop them.
We will see as TNT were able to minimize the output of a more dominant big man and the MVP.
TNT is ready for Magnolia, their pesky defense is not new to them, the good news is that TNT now has a lot of shooters and they are more comfortable with the new style of coaching of Chot Reyes.

I'm guessing, the odds for game 1 is TNT -1.5 and Magnolia +1.5
I'll take the underdog here.
