I heard about Robert Bollick rumor but not on Greg. I think it's not good to have Greg in the SMB lineup as they still have JMF, both are high paid players and I believe that would already be over the salary cap if they are still implementing it, also, it does not give a good image to the PBA as they are making one team a super team while majority of the teams are bad teams.

Just minutes after I posted that SMB is very interested in Slaughter and Bolick, below rumors (as they are not official) pop up on my social media news feed. I'm an SMB fan but seeing these two gentle giants playing in one team seems to be a joke for me as we all know that "height is might" in the PBA. Even if you are not that talented but you are a 7-footer, you've got a place in the PBA.

I agree because, for the sake of real entertainment, other teams have to be exciting to watch as well.
If SMB will acquire Greg which they can, that would make Northport a bad team.

I doubt the salary cap is still followed, I guess one of the PBA personalities had already tackled that before, and I have a feeling that the board can't do anything about it as they are controlled by the team owners of the PBA, most particularly the SMB and TNT which are the big teams.

Can't wait to see how those trades will work from those different teams who acquired new players and stars to their squads!

Just to mention a few notable signs that happened this off-season; actor and rookie, Andre Paras to Blackwater, Calvin Abueva to Magnolia, Christian Standhardinger to Ginebra, Gregg Slaughter to Northport, CJ Perez to SMB, etc.

It's been a long period of just resting and few practices that these players do so time now for the real action.

We can now see the answer of "who wins the trades"

They are not done with the trade just yet as I've read some rumors in social media that SMB is very interested in acquiring Greg Slaughter and Robert Bolick in exchange for the aging duo of Chris Ross and Alex Cabagnot lol. If SMB will be successful in convincing the commissioner's office of this trade scenario then time to castigate Comm. Marcial for the lopsided trade and not allowing Ravena to go to Japan  Grin.

For me, it's the Ginebra if they will have C. Stand healthy this coming season, but I would also consider the Magnolia hotshots as they are a solid team, and getting Calvin is a big boost to their defense and offense, they are my 2nd favorite to win the title this season.

So the rumors before is really true.

Terrence Romeo declined offer from Japan B.League team. Here's why

Quote
LONG before Kiefer Ravena got a Japanse B. League team's attention, San Miguel star Terrence Romeo was given a more lucrative offer.

A source told SPIN.ph that the flamboyant PBA star guard received a US$2.7-million contract spread over three years by one of the B.League teams.

Romeo declined, even if the offer is way more than what he receives in the PBA, where the maximum salary for players is P420,000 ($8,400) a month, excluding bonuses and other perks.

Breaking down the offer, Romeo, sources said, was supposed to receive $50,000 a month on the first year of the contract, $75,000 in the second and $100,000 in the third year.

Why did he pass up the offer?

Read the article for more information.

So Romeo as one of the best players in the Philippines decline the offer, well, he is already playing in a good team, he won championship and has become a finals MVP, I think he has already found his home.
He's being treated well. Yes, he has found a home with his current team and there's also a probable bind with the contract and that's why he declined. Now we see those known players that it's not just about the money but there's a strong connection between him, his team, and the boss. In the article, he said that he owes a lot to their boss, RSA. This means that there are still players that won't leave what the team has treated well. Salute to Terrence for having that mindset and gratitude.

If he leaves, fans would not love it as Romeo is just fascinating to watch, because of him, the Philippines were recognized in the previous FIBA World Cup tournament, and seeing one of our favorite players playing abroad instead of entertaining us here is not good, so for sure SMB would not allow him and will give him the salary he needs just to stay with the team.

PBA is looking for an opening this month.

PBA presentation aims to get IATF nod on July season opening

It's very timely, the fun will never stop because the moment the NBA Finals is over, we still have the PBA Season to follow.
Hopefully, everything will be okay and the PBA will get approval from the IATF on their plans.

If everything went smoothly then expect that the new season will start this month, we are all waiting for this
and yes NBA only got 7 games, only if both teams will try to pushed and extend the series.

The timing will bring good entertainment to all basketball fans, after NBA and FIBA, PBA will bring back the excitement.

Can't wait to see how those trades will work from those different teams who acquired new players and stars to their squads!

Maybe becuase that  time he just got married and he's first born was on it's way to see the world, or he's contented with the  money that he currently have.

But who knows, that amount of money is really something and if I remember it right, not just Terrence but also Calvin also got that same chance but he also choose to stay and play inside PBA.

Now, both players have good stand playing with well known franchise that surely gives them the perks that they'll really enjoy.

News that came out today: (https://www.pba.ph/news/pba-mmda-team-up-to-get-iatf-nod-on-season-46-start)
The news says that MMDA will be helping the PBA to assure public safety if the games will be made inside Metro Manila so they will get approval from the IATF. I'm thinking that there will be general public games and audiences will be allowed. It's just a wish but for sure it will be the totally limited capacity that needs to follow the protocol set by the IATF. But this news could be an indication that it will get approval to see PBA games inside NCR.

Hopefully, that's positive we will see the game getting back to normal, I'm sure the fans and the players have already missed playing with the crowd, hopefully, everything will be positive. The bubble set up was really like a sacrifice for them as they will not be seeing their family, but with the new development, they'll be more inspired to play and that will make the season more fun.
We sure do missed watching with audiences and those fans that have missed to watch live games will surely come and be there present if there's already an approval from the IATF. Of course, the usual protocols are needed to be followed once they've given the signal to the PBA management. And it will surely be loved by most fans and it's going to blow again, since the NBA is on the finals, we're getting the new season for PBA once the finals of the NBA ends. So for most of the basketball fans in our country, the fun never ends if they starts to announce the date of the launching for this upcoming season.

SEMI-BUBBLE SETUP

What does this mean?

- Do players will stay there for the rest of the season as a bubble can't be called a bubble if players and people inside will regularly go in and out of the venue.
- Do players allows to go out after each game but need to do regular checking every time they will enter the venue. It will be expensive.

There's no possible bubble area around Ynares for players to check in compare to Clark where the venue and court are within a single area. Outside Ynares, it's a busy city so I don't know how a semi-bubble setup will look like.

What do you think guys?
They can be accomodated by nearby hotels or any place to stay for the players, I think that they've something like this. If plan A or plan B pushes.
All of them are required to be vaccinated to at least gain confidence as they play the matches and that includes all of the staff that will stay with them together with the management. We'll at least get some idea if they will give us the update how the setup will be, I think that we have to wait until they release it.

The very reason why PBA still working things out from the government, If I remember it correctly
Senate president Sotto ask about it, those who already fully vaccinated should no longer required of taking swab test.

Not sure though if that is already been implemented, if does, players can go home after each games and they don't
need to undergo with swab from time to time which is really expensive.

The players and their families should have the vaccine if the new setup will allow the players to go home. Well, the vaccination continues and I'm pretty sure they are will make sure they have the vaccine as the moment you get the vaccine, you'll get the privilege of living a normal life.

We don't have any idea yet unless PBA provide public announcement in regard to this set up.
This is the very important announce we are all waiting, hopefully we will hear it soon from them.

We don't know what would be set up until they release the full terms or the actual setup. Whatever we have this coming season, I think it's important that we enjoy it, if the government are still strict in implementing the protocol, we will not be able to go to the venue to watch the game, but at least, the players will be able to go home after the game to see their family. Also, it's very important that as we keep hoping for the new season, the vaccine rollout should continue, so we will be like the NBA that had already allow the crowd to watch games.
