It wasn't what we've been expecting but that's it. This is part of the process despite the loss of Gilas against the Dominican Republic it only shows that they can do it and this will give the Gilas fam including coach Tab that he knows what he's doing and he sees the potential of these young players that played for our country. There are still other opportunities that will come to these players but I think if this roster will remain and they're going to be trained together, there's for sure a win that they can get if ever they'll still be the one playing for the team. I didn't expect that the scoring lead of DR will be that much unlike their match against Serbia. But this is okay, better luck next time and more practice and experience for our team.

Update: Gilas lose this game with a huge margin 94-67.
It turns out a very dominant game by the Dominican Republic, but it's good because Gilas won in the 1st half, just sad in the 2nd half as there was really a meltdown of the young Gilas. 1st half score was 41-39, Philippines by 2 points.
Those who wake up early to watch the fight may have felt the entertainment in the first half as it was the Philippines who are leading the game, but when 2nd half comes, the Philippines looks like a team that forgot to score as they are outscored a lot by the Dominican Republic.

They are down double digits but slowly crawled and took the lead in the 4th quarter but it looks like we run out of steam in the last minutes and Serbia took it and got the victory.
Now the Gilas will be up against Dominican Republic tomorrow on our country @ 2AM. In terms of height, we got the advantage since their star center Vargas will not play but still I don't want to underestimate the team even though they lose to the Serbian team by double digits. Win or lose, this is a great experience for these young and talented players and alongside with their good coach they will have a bright future ahead

I've read the statement of Baldwin and although there's a recognition that his team did well and his players played really well. He said that he's already used to have this sentiment from the fans but he really thinks that they can do well. If only a minimum of +15, I will take the risk. Maybe because as you said, the odds provider sees that Serbia gave a hard time to the Dominican Republic and PH on the other hand, also gave a good game to Serbia. Still, with the handicap of +7.5 for the PH, we can really see how underdog we are against the World but still recognized as a top team in Asia.

Wow, even without Dwight Ramos these young cadets managed to kept the game close. Losing by only a single digit is a great achievement IMO and also a morale booster for them going into a game with the Dominican Republic. Let's hope that bookies would still give a high handicap for the Gilas so they can cover it in case they will lose the game. It was really beyond our expectation, they keep surprising us because even the Filipino Fans still do not fully believe that this young Gilas lineup is better than the PBA lineup we had before.
