[Players that get an injury and got successful operation usually makes their body weak. But I wish that he can still go back to old Jason Castro where many are admiring the way he plays. Just like Kevin Durant, he went into an injury too and came back just as usual into the current season of NBA.
I'm just trying to compare the situation and wishing his health the best.

Unfortunately, even without an injury, we can see that Castro is really slowing down. And at his veteran age 34 and he just suffered that injury, there's no way we can see the old Jason Castro once he comes back. Durant was 30 years old when he tore his Achilles and we are behind in terms of medical technology compared to then. He also rested for a long and management is spending millions to take care of their players that's why some players that come from injury in NBA can still explode once recovered.

We will miss the old Jayson Castro. I even badly miss the old Jimmy Alapag. Hope one of the young players in the PBA can be like them or even much better.

For sure there will be another upgrade version of him, that's how I feel when Flying A' been traded to a different team, the time that alaska dynasty's ended. Then this guy came and shows the upgraded versions of f Johny A.

He able to bring both speed and outside threat making him very dangerous  from both aspects.

Now that he's aging, maybe we will see TR7 or Keifer Ravena to step up or maybe another super rookie player that will bring a new twist handling the ball.

Terrence Romeo could be close to Jayson Castro but not as smart as him. I wish Romeo will not struggle with injuries too, I love seeing him in the court and he really provides great offense, I believe he just need to master how to be a real good point guard like Castro but he has the talent already, he just need to improve it.

Keifer Ravena? hmmm... I don't see the potential yet, though he is good but not in the level of Romeo yet.

Castro has not anymore participated in the international competition, even in himself, he understands that he is not as good as when he was still younger. At this point, what his focus is to get back healthy again and contribute to the team the best he can do. TNT understands that anytime Castro would retire so they sign Ray Park to prepare him when Castro is out.

Jayson Castro knee surgery successful, but needs one more procedure

happy to see this, however, I think Castro can't be his old self anymore.

He is already 34 years old, and he will now prone to injury, the Blur might soon retire and focus on his business.

Even with a successful operation Jason Castro won't be back to it's self as he is not young anymore and that comparison with KD is not applicable with this kind of a situation. Changing of the guards, i may say or the TNT management will ship the once called best point guard in Asia to their farm team in exchange for a talented rookie, that's what they do anyway.

I'm excited for tomorrow's virtual awarding, I hope Calvin would win one this time.

Well deserved for a hard working player.

Barroca marks 10th year with Magnolia by signing fresh, three-year deal

That's 3 years of contract, this is definitely the kind of contract Manuel is looking, hopefully he will get sign soon.

Cast is not the type of player as Durant, he is fast and that his advantage in Basketball, but with this operation, his confidence might be affected his performance might dropped.

Anyway, Castro is not anymore so focus on scoring, he wants his team to get involved that's why he played a lot of facilitating rule in the floor, unfortunately his teammates sometimes struggle, and I hope their play will not anymore center to Ray Parks, it's making the team very easy to predict, Pogoy and Parks can be both a good threat in points, let Pogoy shot more, he is more consistent IMO.

Probably it is not only the surgery will slow him down rather it is also his age. As we grow older and becoming so relax we expect our health to deteriorate also and that we can't be ourself when we were young. I like to play basketball so hard before but now I only played smart taking little moves to gain advantage at those who will guard me. Playing basketball have some tricks and as you go older you will going to develop it instead of playing hard.

Your body is no longer the same when you are aging, that's the sad reality. You think you still got the move it's still inside your mind but the executions is no longer balance as your body can't response with what you are thinking ahead.

Even Castro is a pro, he's age simply slow him down. And with those injuries even tose mild ones affects his mentality knowing that he's move might hurt him more.

Glad to know that he have this sessions and we can expect him back this coming season,
though the retirement might be there, soon he will announce it out.

Knee injury really slows down a player. Needs a long rest depends on how serious it is even a person can freely move it or able to play.

I agree that we might don't see the Blur we used to see. Lots of famous players are now nearly retiring, because of age or injury.

Only a few youngsters are making names in the league and in SMC teams, good youngsters aren't having a good playing time even during a regulation.

I guess it's nice to see Pingris and Reavis to retire with Magnolia. Just like Caguiao, he is aging but Ginebra did not trade him, they value him although he is only playing a very limited minutes.

As far as I understand the above post, it will be a revamp but there's no trade involving Pingris or Reavis as I doubt there will be a team that still wants their service even for a veteran contract.

What Magnolia will do is to find young guys, especially in the upcoming draft, that can be the backbone of the team in the future if ever Pingris or Reavis will retire.

Pingris has not come back playing his usual after he was injured, he is not getting any younger so it's good for Magnolia to look for other players. Paul Lee who is leading this team is already 31 years old, soon his production will also reduce, therefore adding more young players really help.

honestly, I haven't seen a rookie who is improving under the magnolia, unlike the Ginebra where they have Tolentino and probably some who are given good minutes in the court.

..and forget that there are also big news (trade) that could happen soon hehehe.

There are rumors that Magnolia HotShots might revamp their lineup.

Marc Pingris and Rafi Reavis, are now aging, 43 and 39 respectively. Plus the fact that Pingris is now injury-prone that's also the reason why he didn't able to participate in the PBA bubble.

A few seasons from now, we will see a new face in the PBA. Feels old here lol.

Revamp is in  need to blend again the entire squad, choosing new faces and fresh legs. We already seen how Gin kings blends their rookies and sophomores playing along with their stars and veterans. It's highly needed to have a good blends and right sets of players to play along the court, it will help finding the right people playing who are aiming for the same goal of winning.

If management see that the squad is no longer balance or there's a need of changing the entire lineup, th is call for revamping will help them to find the right chemistry trying to win another title.

I've found this article: https://mb.com.ph/2021/01/12/why-smb-nlex-and-phoenix-vic-manuel-reveals-reasons-behind-his-wish-list/

Vic Manuel's wishlist on what team he wants to be traded are Phoenix, NLEX, or SMB.

Phoenix because of Calvin Abueva and Coach Topex
NLEX because of Coach Yeng Guiao
SMB because of Danny Ildefonso
Vic Manuel + Calvin Abueva? hmmmm. That's a good choice if Phoenix will offer him a contract. What I'm starting to think now is that what if these teams on his wishlist only offer him a 1-year contract?
Will he take it or will have the same reaction as what he did on Alaska.

That would be a damn move if he would sign that contract from other teams but Danny Espiritu is a good agent so i think hw could make a good deal beneficial to Vic Manuel's future in the PBA.

Looks like we are too focus now on the Manuel issue and forget that there are also big news (trade) that could happen soon hehehe.

Spiderman is going out on his web, have you heard of that?
That's an explosive roster for Phoenix, right? what could be the reaction of the Phoenix management after finding out that they're part of the list Manuel wants to be in?
As long as there's not that much news for the other teams or players, we can keep on discussing about since he's part of the league and this thread is all about the league.  Grin
