He is the first one as a center who aim for the NBA and he is a full blooded Filipino so everyone will be proud of he will achieve that big dreams of him. Actually it's not only for him but the entire nation is on support to him, so as a player, he should feel the support and not the pressure.

Nothing but to agree to your statement! Be proud to have this opportunity and not to pressure him while trying to reach his dreams pursuing to play inside the NBA.

Kai have it and he's close to his dreams as those who manages his career are also helping him to get more exposure and to be more ready.

He together with millions of pilipino fans are proud and keep on hoping for his success.

I feel regret that Kobe didn't pursue his career in the NBA. Sad

He tried but failed.

Japeth Aguilar and Ray Parks tried their luck in the NBA but they both failed, during that time, there are also a hype for them to be successful but it failed.
The competition is just really high in the US, so it's hard for a Filipino to enter in the NBA, but we don't loss hope, we will always support our very own.

Once there's a news that spread about pinoy players pursuing careers inside NBA, fans always support them, that's how Pilipino fans react as they know that the pride is for the whole country.

Those mentioned names got thier own opportunities but failed to materialized, their names are being hypes and hopes are their for them.

Now, it's Kai's terms and the same compassions that he's earning from the Pilipino fans, he still got the chance just need to try more harder to achieved this goal.

Everyone who tried to reach their dreams in the NBA has a chance, Kai is tall, he can play a center position which is in demand in the NBA, so I think he has a bigger chance compared to the Filipinos who previously tried and failed.

Anyways, too early to discuss that possibility as the younger Paras didn't show any signs or even a small interest to join the biggest basketball league in the country. Andre Paras on the other hand, not that versatile compare to his brother but as soon as he progress, he will soon catch up with the PBA environment.
We already feel the influence of the media, when Paras is in the news, everyone reacts, so we are hyping them once again and for sure that would help them to be drafted in the PBA. Seeing brothers playing in one team, I think that's not good to witness, I'd rathe see them playing in different teams.

Imagine the publicity can bring with Andre for sure he's a good addition in terms of marketing in PBA if the older Paras will be added in the league. But we can't deny that he's good and there's a lot of room for development so hopefully he will get a best team which can help him develop more, imagine the last 23 rebounds he contribute for his last team in D-league? for sure if he will play something like that in PBA he will get a good future in the league.

I was looking of that 23 points but I could not find it, what game was that exactly? I'm not a fan of this kid so I don't follow his game. Just saw some of his highlights posted in youtube, this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhByMdyFiGQ) he hit 23 points but it's an old one, 2018 to be exact.

Even Coach Yeng believe that Dwight Ramos is PBA ready and i seldom noticed this coach praising a player, that's why i think that this kid is one of the future face in Philippine basketball as he can compete with other players on the backcourt internationally.
Never heard of Dwight but sort of familiar if I've heard his surname in some leagues before. But if it's coming from Coach Yeng and telling some good points about this kid, he might do something to pull this kid in PBA. At least by this time, we have some other youngsters that could potentially be the new breed of PBA professionals soon.

I'm not also expecting for this Paras brother to change a lower seed team if they will teamed-up "on their first season."

As also stated above, maybe 3 to 4 season as surely progress will be made. But for that to happen, that lower team should not just rely on Paras brothers but rather improve their lineup. Remember that Kobe Paras is having a problem in a Center or Power Forward position where he was assigned by the Gilas Head Coach as his expertise is in Small Forward Position. Looking at those lower seed teams in the PBA, the Paras brothers might probably end up in PF position due to their height.

There will be a long adjustment for a team that will take the brothers. They have the name but we're unsure if they'll be performing well together. I only remember the Yap brothers to perform well in one team.

Do you really think Kobe+Andre can lift a lower-tier team in the PBA? Kobe Paras will be eaten alive in the PBA. Smiley Paras brothers can't lift up a team by themselves. Even you put them on Terrafirma DYIP with CJ Perez, they will surely can't even pass in the quarterfinals.

We can't put a period on that statement dude unless proven. First of all, I will disregard Andre here because I really doubt his basketball ability, we all knew that he is more of an actor than a player (sorry my bad).

Okay, if Kobe teamed up with Perez I think it could work as long as they will not share in the same position because an imbalance might happen. But that's the problem actually Grin! They both play on the Small Forward position so what now? Hmm, for me the best thing they can do is to make an adjustment on Kobe's part since he is the taller one. I'm not saying that they can't be both aggressive, they can but much better if Perez will stand as a leader.

Before, that's my thinking. But after watching Kobe's performance since then, even after he trained for "several years" in the US to pursue his NBA career or professional career at any foreign league, the way he played, again, he will look like a normal player coming from a college draft when he enters the PBA.

He didn't even shine or become dominant in his UAAP days against "college players".

Anyway, my statement is because someone says that when Kobe+Andre joins a certain team, a lower-tier team in the PBA, the percentage of reaching the Finals do have a high chance which is highly I disagree. Too much hype just because they are Paras or because others just rely on the highlights. Maybe I will agree after 3-4 seasons on their PBA career.

Probably just hype, lower seed team has no chance to be in the Finals, unless they are own by a big company like the Cojuangco ang Pangilinan. Let's be honest here, PBA is being manipulated by the big businessman, they want their teams to be in the top, have you guys notice that teams enter in the Finals or even in the playoffs are teams acquired by these two.

I think it's time for the PBA to change the league, only one team for an owner would make the league more exciting and transparent.

Let other competitors enter in the league.

Your thought on this guys?
honestly I don't know about this kind but I'm watching in one of his highlights now.

100% from the Field! Dwight Ramos (Philippines) - Player of the Game | FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers

he seems playing like a legit PBA player, I love to see this guy in the NBA, he has the height so I hope he can fit in the PBA.
At 6'5", that height would really dominate an opponent if he has the skills.

My first time to hear his name since I'm not actively following outside the PBA league.

There's no buzz around him as he is not coming from a showbiz family  Grin.

I don't think that this kid is NBA bound as there are a lot of competition on his size and height in the NBA but in the PBA he is a rare breed.

Even Coach Yeng believe that Dwight Ramos is PBA ready and i seldom noticed this coach praising a player, that's why i think that this kid is one of the future face in Philippine basketball as he can compete with other players on the backcourt internationally.

Coming from Yeng, this kid must be special.

I just hope he will not fall in any SMB teams, if only SMB and the Pangilinan Group will dominate, I would rather see him playing with the Magnolia Hotshots.

Let me float the name Dwight Ramos in this thread as i think personally that he will soon become one of the face of the PBA. Though he did not file his draft application as of now but many PBA teams are interested in this kid. Standing at 6 foot 5, he is a 1 and 2 guard combo that we have not seen for a long time in the PBA.

Yes, and Kai is the one that we're waiting for it. A very big chance and hoping that he'd be the one that will be successful getting in this generation. He's height is ideal and very young blood which is in favor of those teams that are looking for the young bloods to join their team and be trained.
He just needed to be trained more and get more experience and joining Gilas will give him that exposure and experience. It's a very quick time, just a few years ago he's in the talks of possibly going to NBA and bigger leagues and he's about to be there soon.

Before we praise Kobe, now we doubted him. Come on guys, let's give him a chance, we haven't seen him played in the PBA yet, let's believe that he will improve on whatever team he will play. Honestly, I have some players that I doubt before but now they have really improve a lot, so I don't want to underestimate a player.

With a lot of articles online especially those that are written by our fellowmen, you can certainly read information about how good he is, so I'm not surprise with that as we Filipinos love to support our "kababayan" and imagine what kind of pride it will bring to our country as there's no pure Filipino that has played in the NBA yet.
I think that I've read wasn't made by our fellowmen. He is our hope this time to get into NBA, he's at the perfect age and timing.

I've read the news about Andre, there will be a sure that will take him. He has a history due to his father and also has the height. But I agree to you that they're not yet as good as the veterans that the PBA teams have. I feel regret that Kobe didn't pursue his career in the NBA. Sad
I thought that he's near to it but things have change and situation has made it not possible anymore.

..and I do not think that he will go on and apply as a draft pick for PBA, he is happy as is in his show business life.

You are outdated mate. The reason Andre Paras was in the discussion here because he applies for the PBA draft.
I didn't check when I was replying to these but then I got curious after my last post. It seems that show business at this time of the pandemic is not a profitable endeavor, or that he really wants to do other things. Anyway, I think that if in anyway, I think he will enter at least at the top 10 because of the name and the height.
