And if they are together in the same team with their current skills, they are competitive teams that have a higher percentage to go to the finals. I hope that they will go to teams that have some fewer star players so that they can fully use their strength and improve their plays. They can manage to acquire some new traits like improving their leadership skills in they landed on the same team together.

Do you guys just only watch highlights of the Paras brothers? Or not aware of the PBA competition especially against SMC and MVP companies?

Do you really think Kobe+Andre can lift a lower-tier team in the PBA? Kobe Paras will be eaten alive in the PBA. Smiley Paras brothers can't lift up a team by themselves. Even you put them on Terrafirma DYIP with CJ Perez, they will surely can't even pass in the quarterfinals.

..and I do not think that he will go on and apply as a draft pick for PBA, he is happy as is in his show business life.

You are outdated mate. The reason Andre Paras was in the discussion here because he applies for the PBA draft.

I doubt this because the level of talent that Andre Paras have is not that high and he might not land on the top ten in the draft pick and i also got a feeling that he might be drafted because he is a Paras but might not see action in the PBA as the PBA team that drafted him might not offer him a contract.

I think you are talking about the other Paras which is Kobe as he is the one on the Gilas squad at the moment.
Andre Paras is more on the show business side of his father, he is not as good as his brother and I do not think that he will go on and apply as a draft pick for PBA, he is happy as is in his show business life. Kobe on the other hand is a hope for the new generation of Basketball scene in the Philippines.

I think one of the most wanted see player in player is Andre Paras. He is likely to have a good career in PBA. I remembered while I watch how he plays and watch those mini highlights for him, I realize that Paras might be the one who the Philippines need in the Gilas in the future. For now, I think he needs to improve his offense nd defense and use of his height advantage. But Paras will definitely a global competetive just like Kai Sotto in NBA Draft Camp. Paras might be the son of  legendary basketball player but I think he is on the other way around making a name for himself and just like others wanted to have a different career path from his father. I am looking forward to see him in the next games of PBA and as well as in Gilas in the future.

True, if Andre Paras will successfully be signed by a team, and Kobe will soon enter in the PBA, I think we can compare them to the Ball Brothers in the NBA. Lavar Ball is the Benjie Paras.  Smiley

Probably just want to follow the footstep of his father but I think at the current generation, he cannot be as good as his father since the competition is really tight. He has a good a good career as an artist, maybe he wants to try his passion in playing basketball again and being drafted in the PBA is one of the big success for him.

I agree with you. He is already a successful person in his profession as an artist, model, and dancer.

But despite that, nothing can replace the first profession he truly loved and that is playing basketball.

I'm amazed that even while in showbiz and studying, he still able to play in college leagues before which shows basketball is really his passion but just caught up in multi-tasking so the focus is not there.

..so I don't know if he really play like his brother or he deserve to be drafted in the PBA.

Deserve is a big word. Everyone deserves to be drafted in the PBA as long as they are qualified. No need for Andre to be like Kobe if he really wants to enter the PBA draft.

In fairness, Andre Paras "might" be ahead in terms of performance to some players from BlackWater, Northport, and DYIP at around his age.

But honestly, that's not a big deal. It's like a usual player that wants to take part in the PBA draft. It's just being highlighted because Andre Paras came from a popular family in the local basketball world.

Lol, that is true and for sure he will be picked because he is a Paras  Smiley. Basketball in the Philippines these days don't just rely on talent for you to be up there in the PBA, you also got to have the connection unless your name is Junemar Fajardo.

I don't why Andre Paras is still pursuing his PBA career because i thought he earned more money facing the camera. He could have just give his slot to other players.

Meanwhile, we have some fresh news.

Andre Paras applies for PBA Rookie Draft

At the age of 25, I was surprised he still wants to push through his PBA journey. Maybe because Covid-19 limits his future movie and television projects. But he is actively playing before the pandemic (MPBL 2018-19 for Imus Bandera).

Not too late though and he is well-qualified. Not that good compare to his younger brother as his time is not dedicated purely to basketball before but he has some moves that can be a big help to a team. Standing at 6'4-5, he will be a great asset to a team that will draft him in PBA.

I thought it was Kobe Paras when I read the word Paras. I have not followed his older brother, I only see him in TV as an actor, so I don't know if he really play like his brother or he deserve to be drafted in the PBA.

Just continue to whatever he's doing right now and stay healthy, avoid having major injury during this years of he's career.

That is what he has to avoid if he wants his journey to continue. In the FIBA ASIA games, it could be different some countries are playing physical games, I hope Kai Sotto is ready for that.

What I am seeing is people is really supporting him, he is hype because people wants to see him as the first NBA player in the Philippines.
It's a pride of the whole country, It's not just for his fans but the entire Philippines wanted him to succeed to represent our raise to this
prestigious league.

Quote
Imagine that, it will bring the Philippines in the map of basketball sports especially if Kai will soon play as one of the starters in whatever team would sign him.
Actually we already been there but it's still different if we do have pure blooded kabayan, and That's also nice if he will play as one of
starters to any NBA franchise.

Quote
It's a very big ambition but I hope he will dream big.
Just continue to whatever he's doing right now and stay healthy, avoid having major injury during this years of he's career.

Kai Sotto is putting all his efforts to make an NBA debut in the future. If he won't be listed in the NBA 2021 draft, I think he will still continue to work on NBA training camp. These players that dreamed of participating in the NBA do have pride so I don't think they will end up playing on PBA but only on the international league representing the Philippines.

For example, Kobe Paras is almost overqualified for becoming a PBA draftee but remains to play in the global league. After several years of training in the US, these type of players won't just accept the fact that they will instead land playing on the PBA. So to continue his goal, he will just play representing the country in international leagues. That's what I'm expecting too for Kai Sotto. He will not consider playing in PBA because of the pride but will play as a local squad in international competition for a much better impression. A good one as we need big man in international competition.
Isn't it that Kai is about to be drafted for NBA because he's already in the G-League? I'm surprised that there's a news that he's going to be part of Gilas Pilipinas then there will be veterans part of PBA that will be joining the team too. Kai has a bright future in whichever league he'll join.
I also doubt that he'll go to the PBA after all of his commitments and trainings that made on the US. He'll take the example of Thirdy Ravena that chose to play on Japan's through team, San-en NeoPhoenix.
There's no conflict of interest I believe, his contract with the G-league might be over soon, so he can still play at the FIBA. He wants to get drafted in the NBA, that's basically the reason why he is in the US now, but it's up to the NBA team now, he just have to play well in the G-League in order to be recognize.
I've seen good news for him before and that there's a certain NBA team that would love to draft him. But I've forgot what team is that.
Well, he's young and can explore more things but I'm sure this kid is aiming for more and whatever he's taking and will do right now is just a stepping now for his bigger dream.
With a lot of articles online especially those that are written by our fellowmen, you can certainly read information about how good he is, so I'm not surprise with that as we Filipinos love to support our "kababayan" and imagine what kind of pride it will bring to our country as there's no pure Filipino that has played in the NBA yet.

I believe this would help the team to improve their offence.

Juami Tiongson, Celda, Calvo sign short-term deals with Terrafirma

Juami Tiongson would help since he is a consistent 3 point shooter, unfortunately for these players that are signed, they don't possess the defensive skills and that's what the Terrafirma really needs now.

These players can't stay in one team, the reason is very simple, they are not so valuable, so probably they won't last in the PBA and we will see them out of contract soon. Rich teams always get the best players while teams like Terrafirma and Blackwater will get the leftover, no wonder they are always at the bottom in terms of standings.
