Argentina is not an absolutely bad team right now. They are also not one of the best, I can say that they are a good team. But I am I'm not sure about the defensive lineup of Argentina right now. I know that they can attack well but in the defense, I don't think they are very reliable. There are a lot of better teams in this world cup playing compared to Argentina. But I would really like to say Argentina gets the world cup this time because it is going to be the last World Cup for Lionel Messi. I also hope for a good performance from Dybala.
Argentina is a fine team but we will get to know more about the team performance once the matches start.
This is too early to decide who is going to perform . . and what they are going to perform.

need to be underlined I'm not saying idols in the past will be the same as the style of modern football players as it is today.
I said, I idolized some Argentinian stars from time to time. i agree that argentina doesn't have many stars but you have to remember there are a lot of argentina players who play in the european league, the european continent has much greater potential it can be justified seeing the development of european football is more complex than latin america, but we will find out after the world cup begins.
predictions stay predictions.

I watched Russia in the World Cup qualifiers because they were in a group with Croatia.
Realistically, it is a national team of average quality, which managed to win second place in the group and additional qualifications with a lot of luck.
Even if they had been given the opportunity to participate in additional qualifications, I don't think they would have qualified for the world championship.
From what I've seen, Ukraine is a better team than Russia and it's a pity for them that they won't be playing in the World Cup.
Ukraine is better than Russia in football overall but this doesn't have anything to do with which team should qualify or not. Italy is way better than Wales and we know what happened... Mixing politics with sport was sanctioned before 2022 then everything changed suddenly. I understand sanctioning someone or a team supporting the war but sanctioning a whole nation for something done by politicians is kinda abusive.

On paper, Argentina will qualify for the group winners although the match will be the one that will decide it, as well as France which on paper will qualify as group winners, Brazil, Germany also have the same thing. if the four candidates qualify and enter the semi-finals this will greatly add to the excitement of the Qatar world cup event.  And once again I support and believe that Argentina will win the title this time.
I don't even remember when Argentina last became champions at the World Cup. They have a lot of good players in the team, but for some reason they are not able to show great achievements. Apparently, there is a problem of interaction between the players in the national team, because individually in their clubs they are the legends of world football. But Argentina has not reached the quarter-finals, semi-finals for a long time, and this eventually affects the players and the team. I like Argentina, but I'm not sure that they can go far in the playoffs, let alone become champions.
Turns out it was in 1986. Looks like a long time ago and it is a long time ago if you look at it with years, but also it's not that frequent to have winners, it's not like we have a world cup every single season. Hence, I think it's understandable and not weird.

Argentina still doens't look like they will win to me though. Like I get it, they have been good for a while and won their own cup, but that doesn't directly mean they will win this neither, there could have been a few european teams there which would have won if they were in another continent. So, I am guessing France could be the best team ever above all these teams, and they could end up getting the cup.

In World Cups, the under-favoured teams often produce surprises. And so it is impossible to say which team will be the champions in the World Cup. Still we select the favorite team in the World Cup considering the performance of each team's players. The Argentina team now has some world-class players. More importantly, Argentina's performance is consistent. They have not lost any match for a long time. Therefore, Argentina is already the favorite in the World Cup to become the world champion.

If we have all decisions on papers then surely it's very easy for many peoples to bring teams for last four positions and then have matches for title, but we all know many times big upsets happen in World Cup and many big names lost in early stages. I just check all groups and with this now I am posting here my favorite teams which can go through in last eight positions hopefully others will also give their views about this but main problem is still we have four months and Soccer season in Europe is going to start in next few days.

Group A Netherlands and Ecuador, Group B England and Wales, Group C Argentina and Mexico, Group D France and Denmark, Group E Spain and Germany, Group F Belgium and Croatia, Group G Brazil and Switzerland, Group H Portugal and Uruguay.

Round of 16 Netherlands vs Wales, England vs Ecuador, Argentina vs Denmark, France vs Mexico, Spain vs Croatia, Belgium vs Germany, Brazil vs Uruguay, Portugal vs Switzerland.

Argentina has a great advantage and that is that their group is not that hard at all, in fact I expect them to be qualified already before the third game is already played, in which case they can rest a great deal of their starters during that game, not only that assuming they win their group then they will have to face the runner up of Group D and if we assume France wins that group then they may easily reach the quarterfinals without too much of a trouble, something which is invaluable during a short tournament.

Russia is definitely better than a number of other countries in the world championship. On the other hand, they obviously don't have any significant role when it comes to the championship. And they can't beat the top 10 countries either. Russia would be good to maybe survive the group, but after that it would be the end of the story. The same goes for Ukraine, by the way. Of course it sucks for the Russian nation and the Russian football players, some of them have never been allowed to participate in a World Cup. The next opportunity will be the European Championship in 2 years. France and Brazil have real world players in both teams. But Brazil in particular has been very disappointed in the last 20 years and has not won 1 title. Bizarre.

As for Brazil, in the last 20 years they always had very good individuals, but they did not have a well-balanced team.
I don't think they were at the required level psychologically either. Do you remember the semi-final against Germany in 2014?

Not really. I mean they are used to their nation getting bashed by other nations already. We had this very recently with F1 for example, that's the first I can think of, along with Chelsea situation. They literally kicked all of Russia out of the competition, from sponsorship to racers and whatever.

In the end, the teams and players know that their political stance will cause them to be not able to provide something to their nations any other way. But some of them think their nations interests are above their sport, and some think their nation did something wrong. In the end it was known for long time now and didn't come as a shock to anyone at all.

The suspension of the Russian national team from competitions, which was imposed by FIFA and UEFA in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February, has been upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The Russian Football Union (FUR) appealed to CAS because the women's national team was unable to compete in the oncurrent European Championships and the men's national team was banned from seeking to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
In addition to Zenit, Sochi, CSKA Moscow, and Dynamo Moscow, these teams protested UEFA's decision to bar them from competing in European tournaments.
It’s a shame they won’t get the chance to play in the World Cup. It’s annoying when football gets meddled with politics. I don’t think any changes will be be made this year until the conditions in Russia-Ukraine relations have changed. Former Chelsea owner, Roman Ibrahimovic lost ownership of the club because of the sanctions on him, it wasn’t a matter of whether he had direct or indirect influence on the war it had to do with nationality. If individuals with private business can be hurt by the decisions of their government, the national team doesn’t stand a chance.

as well as me, argentina deserves to win the title this time, not a few players in the argen squad have experience in the european arena this time, if argentina wins this is the most beautiful gift that messi got at the end of his retirement in international matches.

but i have a different perspective with brazil, i doubt brazil will enter the final i have other candidates like france and germany, these two european continent teams are the strongest, IMO.  but this is just a prediction, what happens later in the field does not determine what I imagine.

Last world cup for both Messi and Ronaldo. Both of their respective teams would give 100% in to it. But then, the European teams (England, France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands.etc) can be tough opponents. I don't think that Ronaldo winning the cup for Portugal is a possible scenario. But still have hopes for Argentina. No guarantee here, but at least I can say that the current Argentine team is the best they had sent to the world cup in the last three decades. I can't say the same about any of the teams that I mentioned in this post.

I'm planning to go to Qatar to watch the world cup. However, the bans taken by Qatar for the trophy make me stop going. We don't just go there to watch a game. I go to see the culture and experience our own culture. Qatar most recently banned the sale of alcoholic beverages but they later waived the ban. Citizens of different countries will go to Qatar and have to abide by Qatar's ridiculous bans. It's just a sports organization. People go to Qatar both for a nice organization and for having fun. If the bans continue, they are candidates to become the worst World Cup organization in history. I don't think anyone would want a World Cup with empty stadiums.
I think that for the duration of the World Cup in Qatar no harsh laws will be applied to those who come to the World Cup... It will be something like any resort town, where tourists are almost never criticized unless there is outright criminality... Everyone is well aware that people from all over the world will be coming for a short time, so the organization should be of the highest level...
I highly doubt that, but also see it possible but still find it useless. If there is a nation that bans stuff that would be regular things in all over the world, then why do world cup there? They are "different" from rest of the world, so people should stay away from them. Like even drinking is prohibited there and it would be very hard.

Even if there is somehow a legal situation where government allows world cup period to be a free law stuff where people could do what they do in west nations. Why do it in a nation that has to do something special like that? Just do it in west nations and you will be fine with most of the people living the same laws in all major topics anyway.

I include England. They have a much better team than they've had in recent years. I even believe they will surprise a lot. I'm not saying they'll win, but at least they'll go far.
The England team has been pretty solid this year. there will be many surprises in the world cup Qatar. I still support Brazil. a lot of star players on the team, and I hope they can play better than in the qualifiers.
not to mention the dark horse team from Asia. this year it looks like quite a lot of Asian representatives. and it can provide a lot of surprises for the big favorites.

My bet as I said will be for Argentina as they have now the best 11 that they have ever had since the time of glorious days with Maradona winning them their last World Cup if I remember correctly. They have Messi which may play his last World Cup,they have Di Maria,Dybala and Martinez to name just a very few of the hottest players at the moment enjoying a great form in their local leagues throughout Europe. There are many other good players which complement the team and as I said this is the reason that I am betting on them, because they have the best 11 from quite a long time, better from quite a long number of years.

I will be making a bet in favor of Argentina, partly because they are one of my favorite teams and partly because they are sending a very strong squad to Qatar later this year. For the finals, a match between Brazil and Argentina is having the highest probability IMO. And I would like Argentina to beat Brazil in the final. They are waiting ever since 1986 for the trophy and this maybe Messi's last attempt. And the last time when world cup was held in Asia (2002), it proved to be lucky for the South American teams. Let's hope for a repeat this time as well.

I really wish for Portugal to go to the finals of this world cup because, I would have loved to see CR7 having a proud moment but, they don't seem quite good enough for such task. When it comes to Argentina, its on a whole new level of preparation and with Messi playing his last World Cup, he's sure to put in all his got to push Argentina through to the finals with the world cup being the major trophy he lacks. Although, he's got a hard time at club football lately, I'm sure it would be a whole different form for him in the world cup.
Brazil on the other hand is another team that could push through, they just need to get over themselves and be more coordinated.

Looking at the players that Portugal has at their disposal, they really are in a position to go far in this World Cup. But for that to happen, they have to really play as a team and be effective in the different moments of the game. And that's where I think they're failing to be consistently. So, although I think they have the conditions to reach a final, I have some difficulty in believing that Portugal is capable of that.  Sad
