Among European teams, my favourite team are France for now. Maybe we didn't watch them solid in the Nations League but it wasn't surprising. Because that tournament is seen by no more than a preparation chance for the World Cup for many big teams. France must be keeping their real strength for the World Cup. They didn't want any of their main players to get a serious injury also in the Nations League as they didn't have their full main lineup there mostly too.

Every team looks strong for some reason. Based on different sources, Brazil leads the opportunity to win the Cup. The odds for Germany is found high as 11/1 whereas for Brazil it sits at 5/1. Within few months we'll get to know who is going to be the Cup Holder and who's going to be the game changer. With Germany the coach is much expected to make a change.

Even Brazil is placed at 5/1, and that means that there are no strong favorites for this edition of the world cup. I am a bit surprised, because I thought that Brazil might be having a bit stronger odds. The weather conditions are also likely to favor them, as the European teams may face difficulties in getting adjusted. But after the initial round, it is all playoff games, and therefore the reluctance to provide better odds can be understood. On top of that, no one knows which teams will adjust to the Qatari conditions better.

I think Brazil is the main favorite and the bookies are right about it.They have the better overall team but we have seen that teams like Germany have crashed them by winning with a tennis result against them,a thing which we have seen extremely rarely for a team like Brazil. The weather should in theory favor teams from S.Africa and some teams from S.America as they are used to hot weather but I doubt European teams will have problems with such weather either.

For me though I will place a bet on Argentina,as I think it will be the last World Cup for Messi and co so most probably they will give it all and I think they have every possibility to win the World Cup.I remember as a kid how long I cried in 1990 after Argentina losing to Germany where Klinsman scored with a penalty at that game.

I think it's more about the fact that this time we have more strong teams and favorites than in previous world championships.
The obvious and big favorites are Brazil and France, but right next to them are Argentina, Spain, England, and Germany.
I believe that the European teams will prepare well for this world championship, including the difficult climatic conditions, and that this will not be a decisive factor.
After all, at the world championships in South America 2010 and Brazil 2014, the world champions became European teams, right?  Cheesy

Maybe Brazil is a candidate for the 2022 world cup champion because of its better performance and also very solid than before and also running smoothly without significant obstacles in the Conmebol qualifying zone, the Selecao managed to sit at the top of the standings.
but it's not over and it hasn't started yet which I think will be a lot of surprises from other countries that we don't know much about and maybe because Brazil has a good track record and also won the most trophies, already won the World Cup five times.

I am of the opinion that Brazil is always a candidate to win the World Cup. Even if you're having a bad time. But of course you don't always win.
This year Argentina is also a candidate, and from Europe I think England will be able to do an interesting World Cup. And we can't forget about Germany, France and Spain, who are always very strong teams. Portugal, also has good players, can show something interesting.

In such a short tournament anything can happen, a team that has good players but which have been unable to create the right chemistry could click at the right time and win it all, it is because of this the same teams are always the favorites to win the world cup as the quality of their players is so high they can always beat another great team any given day as long as the match plays in their favor, however at least to me I will put Brazil and Argentina slightly above the rest when it comes to the teams I think will win the next world cup.

I believe they have a very solid and strong team this year, I continue to believe that they will lift this FIFA trophy.
They are more solid as the last years and they have some very good players in there Team , but other Teams also have done some positiv progress.
Dont know if they are enough to say already that they will win the FIFA trophy , there some great playing underdog Teams as well that nobody maybe expect.
We will see whats happend when they have played there first match there on the World Cup.
There are a few months and a lot of things can happend in this time , specialy injuries and so on.

Brazil is always really good in qualifiers and thats why everyone after that thinks they will win the world cup. They are in top 5 best teams on world cup but i think they will knocked out before the final. Maybe in the semi final or even earlier thats my prediction

Think about it this way, it is going to be in November and December, and we still saw them build huge air conditioning stuff in there to make it cool. Think how hot it must be right now, if they did that for that time.

In the end, it is going to be quite boring, whatever teams end up there, whatever team wins, it is going to be a very shady one. Think about a world cup that happens to be somewhere where you need to send out a message saying "do not be together with people who you are not married with", even the idea of saying that alone, like the "need" to say that should be shameful and enough reason. I will boycott it and not watch any games at all.

As @Lafu already mentions above we have to wait for how things will happen in Qatar because still four months to go and now just after one month we are going for early start of European soccer, so injuries can happen, and many other factors also can create problems for few teams so talking who is going to win is too early but right now we can talk about who could be in good shape with this all surely I am going with Argentina and Netherlands because these both can do surprises.

Mostly talk is happening about Brazil, England, Germany and France but these two could be dark horses as both have few quality players which can change things very quickly for their team with their skills, so hopefully we will watch an entertaining event in Qatar with many shocking results.

You are right. There is a difference between the Brazil team as of now, and the ones we had in 80s and 90s. Previously, there was good team bonding between players, because they used to play together a lot more. But the current bunch of players only come together for once or twice a year and therefore the bonding and cohesion is lacking. Club football has become much more prominent now, at the expense of international games. It is beneficial for the players in terms of money, but for the national associations it is a concern.

But this isn't a problem exclusively for Brazil, all country teams face this same problem.

I admit, of course, that European countries are less affected, because even at different times they end up playing practically at home and alongside many players with whom they will compete in the FIFA World Cup.

I emphasize, however, the excellent performance of the Brazilian team that went through the classifications undefeated.
I believe they have a very solid and strong team this year, I continue to believe that they will lift this FIFA trophy.

It is also quite normal that most people within the community on the forum think that Brazil is going to win. It's not just people's thoughts, bookmakers also think Brazil is the absolute favorite. Brazil's last title dates from 2002. And we all remember how the World Cup went in 2014, when they were also the top favorite in their own country and lost to Germany in the semifinals. That's the problem with these players, they all play for different teams worldwide and they don't play together as much in one team. Then it is difficult to make a good team, with the drama of 2014 as a result.

Vini Junior is the latest hot boy in town also Antony, these young players have a whole lotta talent to show. So yes Brazil wins the World Cup.
Are you insinuating Brazil is going to win the world cup because Vinicius junior had a good season with real madrid, i don't think so, he is a nice player and will complement the team, but the most important factor is the shape the entire players are in when the world cup starts, the team is always more important than a single player, one player can get injured, but will his replacement be ready to give his all to the team, those are the things that make a successful football team. Brazil have world class players, and their manager has work to do to get his players ready, if they work perfectly as a team, without losing motivation, then they might just end up as world cup champions. But there are other contenders too, like England, France, Belgium, etc.

No matter who says what, I still think that their midfield is not as amazing as people think. Yes, they have two amazing out of this world level goalkeepers, and yes their defense is not bad, and yes their offensive line is world class, all these are fine and it would be great if they had a great midfield.

But, I believe that their midfield is not good enough and they would have to work towards playing from the wings constantly, and teams could put emphasis on the wings and could stop them and ignore the midfield a bit. This is why I believe it's easy to build a strategy that would stop them, and that is why I do not think that they would play that well.
I don't think so, their midfield is quite good for now, especially there they have big names like Casimero who has always been the first choice at Madrid, Fabinho who is an anchor at Liverpool and Arthur who is quite well positioned at Juventus.
Indeed, in this case the attack from their current winger can be said to be outstanding but I think their midfield is still quite good at the moment, especially because they are players who in my opinion have enough experience at club level.
Most of the members here in the forum are vouching for Brazil.
But I vote for Argentina - I wish Messi to pick up the trophy. Although bit early but - lets hope and wish the best team wins.

Among the European teams, the Netherlands is at a very high level in my opinion. It plays well in France and Spain. I know that Argentina and Brazil are the best teams in Latin America, but the teams they face may not be as strong as the European teams. That's why Brazil and Argentina are strong but very favourites. So they can experience the same thing again.
Few years back I was in love with the Netherlands, but recently they are falling down badly right now situation is also not different but for me, they could be dark horse even it's not possible for them to win, but they can do some upset which is all time possible in soccer games.

Even right now on papers they are a strong side and having 8th rank in FIFA mean we can expect something special from them and if they touch semifinals round then surely It's going to be great for them, and we can hope golden days are coming back for them because recently they were poor but now again have some good chance for staying in touch of title race with Brazil, and Germany.

It is hard to compare the level of a national league with the quality of its national team. EPL is the best league in the world but many top players are foreigners.
City have them 2x more than English players. Same goes for Liverpool and Chelsea... with brilliant players being foreigners.
Besides, you can have many top players but you cannot make them play coherently as a solid team which will turn to be a total failure.

A little off topic (but to the question of which league is the best), but this meme killed me:

https://twitter.com/TrollFootball/status/1544026354567393280

As for the chances of teams, there is such a version - as you know, bookmakers take into account the amount of money that bettors put on teams, the Premier League is the richest league (and presumably its fans), maybe the most bets are placed on England, so the chances are so high for them?
