......i have ROI'd AGAIN on my A2's in the time this BS has been going on ;p course once you guys GET your A4, you should catch up quickly Smiley

A little sarcasm? If LTC was at $4 today and you turned the machine on, you would likely not ROI until July 2017 (LTC baseline).  That assumes the same stability of difficulty we've enjoyed for the last year.  With a flood of new A4s, difficulty will jump up across all coins so it'll be interesting.  I'm assuming the base unit is $1800, $150 shipping, and $200 for a EVGA 1300 PSU with power at $0.10 with an average difficulty increase of 0.1%.  I would call this the BEST case scenario.

Don't you looooooove how offensive my name sounds?
Do people find it odd that the chips have gone to a manufacturer to build the A4. Yet no press release has been issued about the new miner and it's forth coming release? I see nothing on their website about the miner being done and shipping in a few weeks. You would think that they would want to toot their horn about being done.

actually they been advertising this for almost a year now... whats WEIRD is that they SAID 50 DAYS AGO they would have a video, now it sounds like the chips WEREN'T EVEN FABBED at that time?

i KNEW there was a reason they are NOT coming on the thread, it all just dosent add up....

is this a scam? prob NOT, but it's sure following the pattern of ASIC.  SAY you have it, keep it for 6 more months, SELL IT to community, keep it another 3 months. by the time you get it it will be 1/2 a butterfly labs situation, so sad :/  happy i never bought in, i have ROI'd AGAIN on my A2's in the time this BS has been going on ;p course once you guys GET your A4, you should catch up quickly Smiley

From Chloe:
Chips have been shipped to the manufacturers for miner production. Video will come out in a few days.

Cool, I didn't get a reply when I asked... So glad you heard something back on this.

Inno told us last week that they would be working to release a video this week and should be shipping by the end of the month.  So that is the latest update.  I will ping them to see if we can get that video.

new asic? what is this?  Cheesy

....1638gh was the all time high this year (I think)

The thing to watch is the overall scrypt network hashrate as pool mining distributes continuously depending on profitability. Hard to find a reliable source but I use the Scrypt filter on What to Mine's ASIC page. Currently it's saying there's about 2.35 THs of Scrypt mining (ignoring Doge due to merged mining).

we will see another 25% increase in difficulty...
I think that's about right but relative to all Scrypt mining, not just LTC. Given they were looking for 5 investors with $1M each originally, I think there'll be something like 200k A4 chips in batch 1 or 2500 A4 miners which is about 700Gh/s.   Not all this will be added as it will squeeze out some of the last GPU/CPU miners and the last of the 1st gen ASICs. I'm expecting 600GHs net or 25% as you suggested.

LTC as a pow coin would fade ....in use and in price imho
I don't think so, the market liquidity numbers are just too large. Last 24 Hours LTC Trading Volume :  ฿353,788. That's huge.
Compare that to ETH: 24 Hour Trading Volume :  ฿11,041.
LTC is here to stay :-)

My contact in China shared with me that 2 versions of A4 is available, 280MHs and 400MHs.

Can anyone re-confirm this?

Hmmm might consider the 400MHs one if not too much more than 280MHs version

Meanwhile we wait patiently from Chloe on sale launch date, until then I am uncomfortable in advancing any funds for advanced order.

There's been 3 separate announcements as the design moved through each phase.
In the first announcement (late 2015) they proposed 2 machines, then it dropped to one 400Mh/s and now it's a 280 Mhs miner with 4 cards each holding 20 chips.

They could make them 400 MHs by adding more cards in a bigger chasis, but the power requirements would mean that you'd need a 1500w PSU and they are expensive.

Announcements          1         2      Batch 1
Hashrate in MHs       600 + 850      400      280
Efficiency                  1.20   1.20      2.50      3.20
Watts                  720 + 1020      1000      896
Voltage                  0.7    0.7      0.6
Number of A4 Chips  200   283      114      80

As you can see they've had real problems getting the efficiency anywhere near the design specs. It's almost 3x the target of 1.2w/Mhs.

Clueless!
could it be some 3rd party that purchased only chips and built their own versions? inno officially announced only 280mh so far.

Imho the person he talked to had old info..origianally the A4 was supposed to be 520 then 400 and now 280 mh.....just saying....

though I'd suspect their next miner in fall/winter if they make such would be at least a 400mh to 580mh unit after this 280mh run (guessing)

I think that Innosilicon will have an incentive to production new asics, only if the LTC price will grow to $ 10+

yeah..have not looked back but seems to me the 'announced' this build of a scrypt miner during the pump to $8 bucks a while back...if I remember right about $6
thus.....this kinda set them back some I think...good thing for me thou (I have knc titans) if/when LTC price goes up above $5 there will be a lot of scrypt asic
development I bet ....but that takes from 6-9 months to do...so anyway this low price keeps the other asic makers away imho

bet if it had not pumped they would not have pushed this A4...just imho

new asic? what is this?  Cheesy

Likely

again Nov 8th 2014 I think it was hash rate was 1169gh...as of last difficulty just now 1585gh....thus since Nov 8th 2014 to today is a 26.25% increase and then the Titans hit...

Gpu miners etc still around imho March 23 2016 and Titans mostly by that point getting out there imho....1638gh was the all time high this year (I think)

thus...yeah looks like some new miners have come onto the stage

Then again maybe $4 LTC abouts is a reason to turn the A2's back on in China or whatever

my own assumption (to stay on topic here in the A4 pre-order thread)

Is that they probably (being the only makers of scrypt asics (new) for the next 6-9 months..again imho...)

we will see another 25% increase in difficulty...which truth be told is way beyond my unicorn like dreams on the titan on Nov 8th 2014 lasting this long

NOW if we are REALLY lucky....the fact NEW machines are being made for scrypt ..there will be enough interest in scrypt mining (data hall or home)

that scrypt coins like LTC will show some life again ...due to the fact of the investment in new equipment finally after 2 years...that the price will rise

to compensate for that say (imho) 25% increase in difficulty

I mean lets face it how long could just knc titans be shown to run the LTC network as an example w/o any new machine being made for  scrypt...eventually

LTC as a pow coin would fade ....in use and in price imho

So could all even out in the wash if we get a reboot on interest from folk with the new A4 equipment and cheerleading pump i would think?
