it is very risky because if the altcoin is decreased you can lose. you should be able to split your money into some altcoin, so you even though there is 1 altcoin loss you still have a profit coin reserve.

If you know what you are doing in there, i dont know why it would be a bad idea. There was people who invested 1000 ONLY in ethereum a few months ago and they now made their biggest fortune

That will be extremely insane. Don't ever do that, put in all your money in one basket(altcoin) even if its good. Make sure you have a plan B and more cause you don't know when you might need it. "All my money in 1 altcoin" that's just too risky. DON'T get TOO greedy

For me, this is not risky unless you invest in a scam coin. Consider to invest in legit project with abig community and hold this for the long term and you will rewarder big ROI.

It depends what you prefer:
1. Extremely high risk to lose it all, but if it goes well you earn a lot more than in option 2
2. Lower risk than in option 1, but you will most likely not get as much profit as in option 1
Personally I prefer option 1, but that's mostly because I don't spend a lot of money on crypto's so can't lose alot.

I think you are doing the right thing because you only have $500 to invest. Just buy one coin and wait until it grows. You can sell it in 3x and buy 3 different coins, $500 each again. This would be a good strategy if you choose right coins.
For me if his budget is so low he should split it for diffrent coins cause if he has time he can get some money by doing little steps, not one big like you mentioned.

I don't agree at all. Even if he found a %300 coin he couldn't gain much because he split his already low money.
He should only pick one and wait patiently. You can't show any advantage for splitting such low money.
guys, I think that in any case, no matter how confident you are about this or that choice, you still need to protect yourself from the bad consequences of your own possibly by choice. Therefore, in order to minimize the risks of losses, at least two coins need to have for investment. One, it's very small.

Hello, friend. In such unstable times it is not necessary to invest all in one basket, spread your 500$ between 5-7 projects, so as not to lose everything.

certainly very risky, especially if from the beginning already knows for sure if the coin it fluctuates and is not sure when is the ride predictably and decline. but it means you take good decisions if you want to use it as an investment in a long period of time.

I think it worth the risk to go all in if you have only 500$ to invest, you'd better have a lot of confidence in the project though.

If you invest in DeepOnion or BTX, you will get 5% dividends from airdrop which is a nice incentive to keep price rising and gain more assets in the process. DeepOnion trade volumes have grown very fast since it is listed on Kucoin and I can say liquidity is not a concern any more for small investors.

Hi,
the altocoin market is so variuous and there are dozen of interesting projects that can be supported.

But  i'm a little investor (500$) and i'm seriously thinking to put all my money in only 1 project I think is very good which curretly is in the top 40 of altcoins. I don't want to say the name because my topic wants to be very general: what do you think is the risk  by doing so? Should I invest in 2 or 3 coins instead?

Thanks

It is of course very risky, the more coins you spread your investment in to the lower the risk will be. That said, if that $500 isn't a large sum to you in the sense that you can afford to lose it and you are hoping for large returns before you'd feel it was worthwhile investing then going for one select coin could be your best option.

my opinion, better to put all your money on Neo
better future

Neo generates gas, Neo/ gas Claim its only clicking a button in a neon Wallet for Example.

https://neo.org/download
reddit.com/r/NEO/

Neo or bitcoin. You should not invest all your fund in one coin because if price dumps down. You should face the failure and you will loosing all your fund like 50 to 60 percent in a single day as well. Split the fund you have and invest on the all potential crypto currencies because if some dumps you may find the other crypto bumps and tally the investment without loosing the money.
Neo is one the good potential coin so I won't say that it is the worst coin invest. You invest 20 to 30 percent of amout in neo. It will boom to 100 USD and more in some weeks after hard fork completes today.

Investing in one altcoin is like betting on Zero in casino. Yes, you can win a lot, but you never know... And what is the point risking all your investment putting them in one project? That can throw you out of the market forover. You can split the sum to 3-5 coins and feel safety

If you are risky - you should have 2-5 perspective coins
And if you want safe investments - use 5-20 coins

It is good to take the high risk of investing in 1 altcoin because if you have a portfolio or if you have other secure investments then it is not the problem for you to make investment in altcoin because the price is increasing day by day and if you are enough lucky then it is more profitable for you because with in days you can cash your investment. Bitcoin and the altcoins are famous and due to this many other jobs and centres are opening for the collecting of this currency. A business saying High risk high return you should put all money into one altcoin and for me Ethereum is best.

I would ALWAYS diversify. Risk Management is important. But if you are going to all in, do your own due diligence, find out about the project and who is on the team, and put it all in. Forget about it for 6 months and come back. Just my 2c though

If I was to put everything into a coin, it would be SophiaTX

To invest all means in any one crypto currency (etherium, Bitcoin, monero, lightcoin) is too risky. Ideally, you need to buy one or two currencies from expensive and as many types of second-tier crypto-currencies.

That's too much risky of an investment. That will probably goes to 2 direction either you will earn profit if its market value will rise or you will end up losing when its market value plunges down and never gets back. Try to invest some potential alt coins as your plan B.
